Current status
Posted 10 years agoHi everyone. Just wanted to check in with everyone since I've been getting a few messages asking about my whereabouts. I'll put a TL;DR version at the bottom to save some people time.
First off, yes I'm okay. Physically and mentally exhausted but okay. I can't disclose details about my job but for the past couple of months I've been working increased, more intense hours of work and it's taking a toll on me. As a result I've been looking for work elsewhere, even if I had to move. The best luck I've had was a billing job for a ISP in Tampa, Florida but according to a friend that was helping me get the job they still haven't decided, so I'm marking that prospect as a "no".
As of now I have another friend in Portland, Oregon wanting to help me move there but I first need a job within the month of moving in with him. If all goes according to plan I'll hopefully fly over for a few days at the end of May, get a feel for the area and make my decision. In the meantime I'm looking for other places since I won't be able to afford to live in South Florida for much longer at the rate that rent has been increasing. There were some prospects of moving to St Petersburg and Orlando Florida but my family hasn't had luck getting their job transfers there, so I can't count count on them unfortunately.
These days I'm spending most of my time at work so I'm not allowed to use my cell phone, which I also don't use while driving (3-4 hours a day in traffic), and by the time I get home I just want to turn off my brain and relax. So that explains why I hardly respond to messages.
And also because of this I haven't had time or energy for art, which explains why I haven't been on here lately.
Anyways, I won't drag on further with this. I'm trying to get back into the swing of things but right now I have obligations to fulfill with my life that are urgent, or at least until I can finally settle down somewhere with more free time. Until then I'll be around but just lurking.
TL;DR Busy with job and finding a new place to live. I'm just lurking these days.
P.S. Unless it's an emergency don't expect a quick response from me anytime soon. If I get any messages asking to chat then I'm going to assume that you didn't read any of this and will just ignore it. Sorry.

Update on dat art theft
Posted 12 years agoSo as I reported yesterday (http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/4496787/), recently someone has been going around posting other people's work and adding their own "flair" to then say it's their own.
I wasn't initially going to put them out on front street but when another member reported their actions to the admins the individual in question was quick to retaliate in a hateful manner. As such, because he's not willing to bring this to a peaceful end, I'm just going to leave the link to his DA profile riiiiiiiiight over here: http://baku-thesumomonk.deviantart.com/
As I said before, I'm not one for witch hunts so if any of you have any actual art on his submissions that he stole then I would suggest reporting their profile. **FYI
Aokmaidu was informed about his submissions being stolen so disregard since it'll only make the DA admins sort through redundant requests** Otherwise keep it civil, if possible. You don't want to lower to his standards.

It's been recently brought to my attention on here that certain people have been posting my work on other sites as though it were their own.
First off, I'm not going to do a witch hunt and start pointing names out (unless they turn out to be assholes about this). The reality of the situation is this: This is the internet and I can't control the actions of others. Hell, I'd probably have more luck getting Lindsay Lohan into rehab without her precious (AKA pills). People repost some of our work on boards all the time so there's nothing you can do outside of never drawing again. That, however, is giving control to people you don't know and only hurts you and the people who enjoy what you make.
HOWEVER...
There's a fine line between reposting someone's work and citing a source, and that of claiming that work as your own. Doing the latter not only undermines the artist (especially when you do a shitty re-edit of it like you're trying to be clever) but it misleads people who would be interested into a "dead end". At least when someone posts something of mine with credit back to me I'm flattered! But when you go around claiming my work as your own I feel like a 2 dollar whore (at least a 3 dollar whore will pretend to care). And besides, let's face it, when you repost someone's work they're bound to find out anyways.
So to simplify this, here is what happens when you post a proper source:
1. Cite source
2. Artist gets more traffic
3. Artist feels loved
4. Artist makes more art
And so it revolves back again, as the circle of life. :D

Posted 13 years agoJust thought I'd first like to say Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to everyone here. Hope you all have had a good time recently.
Regarding recent news and an explanation as to why I've been absent lately, basically I started a new job at a car garage all of a sudden. No interview or anything. Basically I do clerical work, order car parts and do deliveries to the other shop the owner has.
Because of the new schedule (getting up at 7am and leaving the job at 5pm) my sleep schedule has been thrown off, hence why I haven't been in the drawing mood lately. The job for now is slow but that's because there's no buying going on until after the holidays. I'm told that once everything is "back to normal" I'll be expecting a drastic pick up in pace. Because of this I don't know when I'll be able to draw at my normal schedule until I get used to it. At the most I might be able to draw on weekends and for people that I owe.
For the car enthusiasts, this is where I need help:
I know nothing of cars. Zilch. Nada. So I need to read up on car parts that's easy to understand, with pictures. Like, I need a guide a 5 year old can understand. Is there a site I can be linked to for this?
If there's any questions feel free to ask.

What is it? A furry site but, from what I'm told, more catered to the fat/inflation/etc furry community. It has features I've been wanting to experiment with so I thought I would give it a try.
Am I replacing Blimped! for FA? Nope, but it's nice to have an option in case FA ever has troubles.
Would content I make be different on there than here on FA? For the moment no. At the most it'll be more organized with commission queues, character categorizing, folders, etc. Hopefully making groups will be a possibility. *COUGH*

1. The first one went out of business some time ago. I have him friended on Facebook and asked him if I could get his number to use as a reference but haven't heard back yet. If he doesn't respond what can I do? I was also his only employee so I can't ask anyone else.
2. With the second one my previous employer transferred somewhere else, leaving new people who don't know who I am. My co-workers have all left as well (there was some immense drama regarding corporate policy, so people quit left and right). The numbers I did have no longer are operational so I can't reach my co-workers to be references.
Any ideas would help. Trying to find work ASAP.

So I got to see MrLabrador, John Lobo and Marcus Quinn.
Posted 13 years agoThis weekend I went to Orlando for Tidal Wave (a bear/chub/chaser event during Disney Gay Days). And since 
MrLabrador and 
JohnLobo have recently moved in with 
MarcusQuinn about 30 minutes away from the hotel we figured we should meet up.
-John and Labby first came through to pick me up then we headed to a nearby buffet. I scolded John for being a lazy gainer then marveled at the ice cream that he got that looked like plastic as it melted. We concluded it was not fit for consumption.
-As we were ready to leave Labby had a minor issue with his car, which magically disappeared. I humored that I must have broke a weight limit (me being 392 lbs IRL while John and Labby are porkers in their own right).
-We headed back to their place while John showed me a cute 3 minute anime.
-Once we arrived we played a round of The Game of Life on 360. We fought for the title of "sumo wrestler" whenever one of us got athlete as a career. We sued each other into retirement.
-John was passing out mid game so we figured he needed a nap (he was excited to meet me so he didn't get much sleep the night prior [I "AWWWWWW!"ed]). As my civic duty as a fatty and furry I agreed to a round of belly rubs until John fell asleep.
-I joined MrLabrador for more belly rubs and a couple hours of YouTube videos and Myth Busters episodes.
-John later rejoined us. I hijacked his FA account and made a journal. The internet police were called. I dun goofed.
-We saw Studio Ghibli's The Cat Returns. I never saw it before. Wonderful movie. Fat cats.
-Woke up the next morning and was given cake for breakfast. Awesomeeeee. Got to meet Marcus once we were all awake and gave him a hug. He has a such a nice cat. Mine is angry all the time. I am super jelly.
-Unfortunately I had to leave since check out at the hotel was noon so I parted ways and Labby drove me back. Radio was ass so we rocked to the Iron Man 2 soundtrack.
That about does it on the furry side of things. What I did other than this for the weekend is a whooooooole other story. lol
Once again thanks to MarcusQuinn, JohnLobo and MrLabrador for having me over, even if our time was short. I would definitely love to visit again for a longer period, if possible. You're all so wonderful. Hopefully I can schedule another visit soon.
