Hey, just letting you all know I might be inactive for a while. Riding out Irma with my family here in Florida. The path has been forecast to be right over my house a couple times, but as of right now, it's not. Either way, we're going to get hit pretty hard here.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not upset about democrats losing. If this were Mitt Romney, or John McCain, I'd be mildly disappointed that we didn't have a better candidate, then go about my day.

I'm upset about who won.

The fact is that this man has promised violence, promised to restrict freedom of the press, promised to punish or even jail his political opponents, promised to torture people and kill their families, promised to ban a religion, promised to abandon our treaties, promised to undo everything accomplished in the last 8 years. Some of these things he can't do, but some he can at least try. I don't trust the people from his party, who have shown already that they are capable of nothing but keeping their toes on the party line, to stop him. And I don't trust the supreme court, who he will be deciding the balance of, to stop him either.

I'm upset that any person out there could look at the things this man has said, and vote for him. Whether they thought that he really did represent their values or not. I'm ashamed to live in a country where this many people can back a person like this.

And I'm upset that on top of it all, this man, who made all these promises, is going to spend four years with no meaningful opposition from the other branches of government.

I don't understand people who keep saying that "he can't do THAT much damage" when he already has. He's caused more damage just during his campaign than most are capable of during their entire presidency.

Sorry, I'm being slow this week. Haven't gotten any days off in over a week because a coworker was sick, so I've been tired and busy.

I think there should be a special submission type for adoptables. Something you could search separately and could be given a closed status so that they don't show up when you search for active ones. I just tried searching adoptables, and it's like 75% closed adoptions, and another 15% adoptables that people bought and reposted.

And even better you could receive them separately in a different part of the submissions inbox. Preferably one you don't have to maintain yourself. Something that simply showed all ongoing adoptions (maybe there would be a compulsory time limit on them) being held by artists you watch would be a handy thing to have, and might help promote more business to go on here.

That being said, if anyone knows of any adoptions being had right now, feel free to spam the comments. I feel like window shopping.

So I'm planning on going to Megaplex, but the person I had planned on room sharing with has decided not to attend. I'm looking for one other person to share the room with.

The room has two double beds, and is booked for Friday and Saturday nights.

Rules:
I will need payment in cash up front on the first day. You do not get a room key until you have paid me.
Please discuss with me before inviting others into the room.
I will need your cell phone number to be able to keep in contact with you.
I'd prefer someone I can hang out with during the con.
You must be on good behavior. I'm not going to mind someone who snores a bit or leaves their stuff on the floor, but if you wreck the room or host a party in it (without clearing it with me first), I won't hesitate to hand you back your money and get the room re-keyed.

So, I suppose I should state my opinion on this.

Actually... I don't have a problem with it. I don't think that they're going to throw the site down the drain, and I don't think they're going to make huge changes. It's still being run by the exact same people, so more than likely nothing will change. The difference is that if the people running it act like douches, they actually answer to somebody, which I think is a good thing.

So don't worry, we already keep everything legal, and IMVU is friendly to naughty stuff on their main product, so long as it's kept to naughty-approved areas. They aren't going to ban your porn.

And I don't think this was a money-grab, irresponsible, or a quick decision. God knows FA and it's staff already has expensive lawyers on speed dial, so I'm sure they had this purchase looked at under an electron microscope. They have a good thing going for them, and letting the site go to shit doesn't benefit anybody.

As for the two months announcement thing, yeah, that could've been handled better, but they said they had stuff that had to be worked out, which I'll give them. That, and they probably just wanted to keep a few months between everyone on the site having drama attacks.
