Randomly blocked by someone for no known reason
Posted 11 years agoWeird, tried to fave a submission by
Etheras only to get a system message that I was blocked by him. As far as I know, I've never even said a word to him or interacted with him in any way, so I find this very odd.

Toothcup?
Posted 11 years agoWhere's all the new Toothcup porn now that Hiccup is 5 years older and CLEARLY an adult in HTTYD2? Not even the submission nazis can claim the new Hiccup is not an adult.

"Where to find me" really?
Posted 12 years agoI love all these posts up by artists AFTER the fact, telling where to find them when FA goes down. Journals which will be promptly forgotten and not looked for... when FA goes down.
If you're truly serious about art as a business, making a living off of it, those alternative contact means should be right on your home page or at least in your commission info, from the start. Now is too little, too late, because you're not going to make up for the lost time.

Flash users
Posted 13 years agoStart learning HTML5.
Seriously, Adobe itself is moving away from Flash by switching to HTML5 for mobile devices, and with the introduction of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, no mobile device in the future will support Flash (except maybe Blackberries, but who cares?.) It is a HUGE security risk, too. All those updates Flash does on your PC? They're to fix security holes. Every time. It's terrible for allowing in Malware.

Why…
Posted 13 years agomust all muscle furs be huge, bulky beasts? Why does nobody draw smaller, thin, wrestler-build guys? Guys who are more reminiscent of someone like Jet Li. Guys who could kick your ass DESPITE their smaller size. I swear there is nothing sexier than a guy who looks like a scrawny twink when he's wearing a hoodie but whose muscle definition and build blow your mind when he strips!
An unexpected connection to traditional art.
Posted 13 years agoTurns out, the place I'm working at cuts and ships the E-Z Clean Palettes sold by art-alternatives.com. Nice to know about one more thing that's 100% Made in America!

Mustelids and SWTOR
Posted 14 years agoIf you're a mustelid and play wow, you might want to avoid the Imperial faction. On the planet of Corellia (Han Solo's homeworld) there is a race of bipedal, sentient mustelids... whom the Empire slaughters, via you. Unless you don't mind killing cute, furry critters with oteer-ish tails, in which case, go Sith!
Food
Posted 14 years agoSo since I cancelled my WoW account, I've been on a cooking kick. In the last two months, I've learned how to make awesome chili, the perfect meatloaf, wonderful dinner rolls, homemade whole wheat pasta, homemade pasta SAUCE (the holy grail of the kitchin, imo) and I've even learned how to use a pressure cooker to can my extra sauce for storage.
Having my foodie cousin, his wife and two kids over for dinner Friday, and I'm pulling out all the stops: homemade spaghetti with homemade sauce and giant homemade meatballs (an adapted version of my meatloaf recipe) and instead of garlic bread, garlic cheddar biscuits, with homemade chocolate chip cookies for desert.
I can't wait for the reviews!

Blizzard Games does know pity!
Posted 14 years agoThey have decided to take pity on me and give me relief from boredom while I wait for SWTOR to go live by granting me a Diablo III beta invite. Hurrah!

Baby animals!!!
Posted 14 years agoIf you read this, PLEASE, pass it on. I don't have many watchers, so spread this around!
Do you love baby animals? Check out www.zooborns.com. They get photos and videos from zoos all over the world of their newborns, and with the number of zoos contributing, there is usually a new newborn every day. They even have Android (yay!) and iPhone (meh) apps to let you see the overwhelming cuteness on the go.

Harry Potter
Posted 14 years agoJust pre-ordered the complete 8-film Harry Potter bluray collection. But I didn't buy the 8 disc, $80 set available here in the US. Oh, no. I'm getting the 11-disc, 8 movie set (includes an extras disc for each of the last 3 movies) from amazon.co.uk. The price there is 32.3 British Pounds (with VAT, it's actually 30 BP exactly for US buyers) which means I'm getting 3 more discs for only $48.
Now if you're a die-hard Potterhead, you'll want to wait until next summer or fall when Warner is planning to release a massive, complete set with all 8 movies and probably 8-12 extras discs, which will probably cost $200-300. But if you just want the movies, in full 1080p BluRay, and don't mind waiting for the British release date of Dec. 1 (plus 6-10 days shipping, which is surprisingly free) then save yourself $30 and get the Brit version.

Your Highness
Posted 14 years agoJust watched Your Highness on bluray, and went for the unrated version. Was NOT expecting to see hot, throbbing minotaur cock. Movie has been elevated from campy fun to Oscar-worthy!
new furry author?
Posted 14 years agoHas anyone read Legacy, by Hugo Jackson? It's the first book in a 4-book series, and the world appears to be inhabited by anthro animals (the cover features what I think is a fennec fox, raccoon, wolf and some other canine) and the main antagonists are red dragons. I'm hoping to get some feedback on it before I buy it. :D

And the description: Her power is unmeasured. Her abilities untested. Her destiny inescapable.
Faria Phiraco is a 'resonator', a manipulator of crystals from the moon who wields control of the elements. It is a rare and secret power which she and her father, the Emperor of Xayall, guard with their lives. But they are not alone...
The Dhraka, malicious red-scaled dragons, have discovered an ancient artefact, a mysterious relic from the mythical, aeons-lost city of Nazreal. Their plan already in motion, they besiege Xayall, launching upon the city to find Faria and tear more of Nazreal's secrets from her. But she knows nothing, except that the powers hunting her threaten the entire world.
With her father missing, Faria has to rely on her own strength and brave the world that attacks her at every turn. Friends and guardians rally by her to help save her father and reveal the mysteries of the ruined city, while the dark legacy of an ancient cataclysm wraps its claws around her fate... and her past. She soon realises that this is not the beginning, nor anywhere near the end. A titanic war spanning thousands of years unfolds around her, one that could yet cost the lives of everyone on Eeres.
Legacy is character-driven epic fantasy action forged in an exciting and intricate plot that reaches deep into the Resonance world's history. Sword and sorcery battles, magnificent flying ships, city sieges, gigantic metal fortresses and ancient secrets fuel the war on all sides, past and present. First in a series of four books by Hugo Jackson. Recommended for ages 14 and above.

Holy shit, Spock is gay!
Posted 14 years agoZachary Quinto came out today, in a heartfelt response to the tragic suicide of Jamey Rodemeyer.
I already had a bit of a crush on him after his portrayal of the psychotic killer, Sylar, on Heroes, and I loved his reinterpretation of Spock (can't wait for the sequel) and now I want to have his babies!
Read it in his own words on his blog: http://www.zacharyquinto.com/news/2.....1/10/post.html

What's the worst video game ending YOU'VE seen?
Posted 14 years agoOMFG. Just got to the end of Neverwinter Nights 2, and wow, what an ending. I mean really, it was epic! Seriously!
Okay, not gonna lie, worst ending ever. I'm level 20, all my companions are 20-23, we have a magic item that can bring people back from the dead, we beat the baddest bad guy in all the realms, then the ruins cave in and we all die, crushed by falling rocks.
Really?
And to top it all off, quite possibly the worst voice actor in the entire history of the video game industry monotonously reading a diatribe about what happened after... with still pictures. No cinematic, must not have had the budget for that. Wow, that sucked giant, hairy, flea-infested, gangrenous elephant balls.
