Hey folks, this one is a bit of a follow-up to the visual novel engine inquiry I made last time.

Without making a wall of text describing what my plan is, I'll cut to the chase this time. What type of monster, creature, cryptological figure would you most like to see anthropomorphized as a bangable visual novel girl?

And I don't mean the normal run in the mill stuff like vampires, werewolves, catgirls, kyuubi etc that you would trip over while browsing this site. I mean off the beaten path type stuff like the jersey devil or jackalopes. And figures from other countries folklore like chupacabras, krakens or emela-ntouka.

This is a sincere question and would love to hear suggestions.

Thought I'd ask around for possible first hand experience on this one.

Has anyone used the software Tyranobuilder? I'm looking to make one of "THOSE" kinds of visual novels at some point down the road, and research shows that this one allows you to incorporate video, gif and Live 2D model animations into the games you make.

Was just wondering if anyone has played with this software at all or, if possible, knows of something that would work better.

At the recommendation of  washa I’m planning on setting up a Gumroad store as an alternative for folks who don’t want to mess with Patreon (though I will of course appreciate that too :P ).

In it, I plan to sell $5 packs for select old and upcoming animations that include

- the high definition SWF file (if one exists for that project).

-the original PSD file

-the After Effects File

- high definition video version (if one exists for that project).

Obviously Patreon users are already getting this stuff, and will still continue to get it 2-3 weeks ahead of the rest of the internet, this store included.

When it does launch, the initial products available will be the two Chun Li x Ken animations, the Madam Mim collab I did with  s-l-b and eventually a two pack for the Arcee x Jack x Airachnid projects.

MY QUESTION FOR YOU THOUGH:

Which of my old animations (if I can find them) would you be willing to buy the original source files for?

This is going to spoil my newest project obviously for most of you, but I do need the assistance.

I've run into an issue where some of my FLV video clips are stuttering/freezing in some instances and reimporting isnt fixing the problem. The program utilizes a plug-in called Live 2D which I've been watching the development of like a FUCKING HAWK. In fact it has After Effects implementation so best believe I'll being doing more research in that area.

But via Facerig, your 2D/3D avatar could be brought into most common programs that utilize a webcam (Twitch, Skype, etc) to have have fun and merriment with.

If I offered to make detailed 2D avatars with a full range of expressions and such, who among you would be willing to pay for a custom one that no one else on Steam (and by extension the world) would own?

Now...serious face.

I posted this on my Tumblr as well, because posting it on my normal channels would be a VERY bad idea.

But…I’m feeling conflicted with my job situation right now:

On paper I couldn’t ask for a better group of coworkers and work environment. And having health insurance again is rad. But I feel like the amount of money I bring home every month after taxes could have been made back when I was freelancing as a cartooning teacher and internet pornomancer.

To add insult to injury, a large chunk of that (full disclosure like 2200$ a month is what I’m making at this place) is being spent on just the commute to and from the job. Which itself can be between an hour to 90 minutes depending on if I drive or take the subway. Express highways are an option but then I have to add in daily tolls. And at the end of the day I’m too damn tired to want to draw/animate anything.

Also, there’s the matter of the occasional indie game/ animation art gig that presents itself to me. Two such projects are kinda hanging right now as far as whether they will happen or not, but still.

I mean, I feel like if I start hitting my Patreon super hard and take just one part time teaching gig I could make up for that, possibly do better.

What do you guys think? It’ll probably mean more smut for you if anything haha.

Figured I'd give you guys a heads up on this sooner than later.

One of the FA admins has informed me that the music I've used in most of my flashes is a AUP violation, in that "they were not made by me or made for me."

I encourage you all to download your favorite flashes from my gallery before February 20th. This is because the more likely endgame here will be:

A) I re-upload them with royalty free music

or

B) I delete certain entries all together because I'm sick of looking at them.

Who here amongst you uses Tumblr, and would you follow me if I made an account? It would mostly be work in progress gifs of flashes I'm working on and sketches of stuff that would later be posted elsewhere on my HF or FA gallery and/or Patreon pages once finished.

If I can talk about some non porn business for a sec (waits while everyone closes this window in anger) I'd like to announce that one of the games I've been doing art on is now available for Steam Early Access.

It's called Children of Liberty and it's a hand drawn 2D stealth game. It takes place during the Revolutionary War and you play as 4 kids who (with the help of Samuel Adams and Paul Revere) are trying to rescue their parents from the British.

So I've been hearing the name of this thing called Patreon over the past few months and finally saw the site via a post Ninja Kitty made on HF. I've done some research on it and it seems like a really awesome platform for creative types to make a living with the help of fans, and they don't seem to have an issue with adult content (since well...NINJA KITTY is there :P).

But this one is slightly different as its for both a worthwhile cause and hopefully to save the jobs of a few talented game designers (and personal friends of mine).

If you've been following current events with the game Skullgirls and their updates, you know things are in a weird place right now. This is a chance to possibly help that situation and support a worthwhile cause while you're at it.

Donate to help fund breast cancer research and get Skullgirls included as the 8th game at Evolution 2013 (its a massive annual fighting game tournament for those who don't know). Being featured as one of the headline games will get SG the exposure it needs to convince its publishers (or potentially new ones) to fund the production of additional content.

We have two weeks left in the drive and our only real competition is Super Smash Bros. Melee. Which pulled ahead of us last night with a crazy $9,000 lead. (...but...they don't even make the console that game works on anymore >.<).

AND I KNOW some of you will be tempted to want to give some to Fighting is Magic, but EVO has gone on record to say that since it's not actually "finished" it can't be a featured game. But it will have an exhibition on the side at Evo regardless of how much money it brings in. So big ups to them and Mane6 for that :)

But back to my point! Even if you guys don't play games, this is still going towards a worthwhile cause to fight breast cancer and you would be doing me a personal solid to help push Skullgirls out there a little more. And please, spread the word if you can!

I'm not saying anything for certain right now, as I am just looking into some things here and there...but would animated screensavers (of whatever) be something you guys would be interested in?

Possibly commission for custom ones? I'd most likely charge a little less than I would for a single flash scene since there would be no sound editing or action scripting and what not.
