 janglur had gotten me into The Secret World a few years back; and I've been enjoying my time. This weekend they're offering some special recruitment stuff so it got me off my butt to finally post a journal to see if anyone was willing to join. =P

Pros:
Ability Point & Skill Point system allows you to build your character however you see fit. There are still Tank/DPS/Healer classes; but I can run an AR/Pistol DPS, AR/Pistol Healer, AR/Shotgun DPS, AR/Fist Healer, Etc build (deck) all through the same character by simply changing out the Active & Passive abilities I'm using at the time (you get 7 of each).
It's a Modern Day MMO following deeply with Lovecraft themes. Zombies, Fishmen, Super Powers, and more.
Gear and Style are separated. You can look the way you want no matter what gear you're using. The only items that change you look that affect your damage are your weapons; and it's fairly easy to change the way they look too.
The quest do actually require thought. They have your basic kill loot find... but there are also Stealth quests where you're not to get caught; and Investigation Quests that require researching info (in game and out) to solve the puzzles presented.
No Monthly subscription; just one time purchase

Cons:
There are several bugs, which Funcom is pretty famous for, but they do fix them.. if a bit slowly
Item shop is tempting... very tempting...
and... PVP/Lairs (Dungeons) have very specific roles you need to fall within to "fit in" with the crowd.

And... I've gone a bit "ooo shiny butterfly" and don't know what to say now.

I used to think I couldn't feel this way. That I lacked the capability to mourn the death of a loved one... or hell, whether or not I had anyone in my life that I actually loved. My parents, my siblings, my Aunts, Uncles, Childhood friends, etc... No one ever got close to me. I've always pushed my own feelings away or they've simply never surfaced.

However, a few people entered my life and helped me to open up... to a degree. It's still hard to let go and trust someone... I've still only said "I love you" to two people and known that I truly do. It's beyond liberating to be able to say those words and mean them...

Unfortunately one of those two is no longer with us.

It's hard to comprehend just how devastating that can be... to abruptly lose someone you love with all of your being. How each and every happy thought can be mirrored so perfectly... sending you into darkness... then even lower when the reality of it sets in.

Yet, I know now and knew then that the last thing she would want is for me to stop living after she had passed away. Oddly enough it was something we had discussed prior... I told her then that any pain I could feel; any sadness that would be brought on by her no longer being in my life would be worth having her love.

That was no lie, I would gladly go through every bit of it again... but I had no idea how quickly that statement would be tested. Nor could I imagine just how much pain and sadness would follow in the wake of her passing.

It's been a year, and the pain of the loss is still there... but life must move forward. Admittedly the pain is less... time does heal all wounds. I can talk about her now without "bleh" thoughts flaring into my mind. I can find comfort in seeing her picture instead of sorrow. I have even started to mend my own heart and even hope to find someone else some day.

I can't really think of how to end this post... I've restarted this last paragraph 4 times at least... I think that might be a sign of ramblings... so I'll just ask that if you have a loved one... someone you truly care for. Tell them, show them, make sure they know how you feel. Because that feeling is something truly worth cherishing.

Gino did a superb job on it.  makybediva got this for me as a Christmas present... She had known it'd take awhile to get made, and Gino really poured his heart into it... and I think it shows.

I'm really glad I could get one final gift from her... It's the center of my fireplace mantle at the moment.

I just recently came upon an odd realization.

While I may not be a big fan of lactation in art. I found that I am a fan of being involved in lactation based art. It seems I've developed a desire for... well, I'm not 100% sure how to classify it. For instance I love this picture:

Easily my favorite commission. I love the bonding that is shown... that connection. I really enjoy the thought of suckling, though I don't have any specific yay or nay attitude towards lactation itself.

I dunno, I guess I just really enjoy the thought of being close to someone... a Mother, Step-Mom, Babysitter, etc... I enjoy the thought of cuddling with them, and suckling... the bond that is shown there. I also know I really enjoy being the cub for a Mother, Step-Mom, Babysitter, etc...

Some of you may be aware of the news stories going around in regards to the NDAA which was recently passed. This certainly is a heated topic, but before everyone grabs their pitchforks and torches..

Do keep in mind that the recent bit of text to be inserted by the NDAA is only an elaboration and limitation of the already existing authorizations as set forth in Public Law 107-40. The original language in 107-40 was a very broad and unlimited use of the armed Forces in the battle against Terrorism.

The fact is that the regulations in the NDAA only limits the things that the Armed Forces can do on behalf of the President in fighting the "War on Terror". In truth the limits are not very strict and the lack of timeline for forced release -IS- very concerning...

*However*, this particular portion of the NDAA (being pages 359 - 364 of the 682 Page Bill) does nothing more to limit our rights, as they were already forfeited in the name of fighting terror in 2001. This recent uproar is simple sensationalistic journalism at work.
