How strange
Posted 3 years agoIt's weird how political discourse has splintered and factionalized the fandom today.
Ten years ago, we only let important stuff splinter and factionalize us... like my little pony.

Posted 6 years agoI've been a shitheel to people in the past, especially in my youth. There seems to we widely varying degrees of reciprocation, but I certainly wasn't one to always limit my assholery to being proptional or 100% just.
So if I was a right cunt to you, on here or some forum, or even LiveJournal or something else I've forgetten about. Let me know! I really decided I need to get better about apologizing to people and owning the bullshit I used to spread.
Feel free to note me.

The single most infuriating part about furry fandom?
Posted 6 years agoPeople rushing to defend, comfort and excuse pedophiles in our midst, even when clear and proven. To this day those convicted of child crimes still get warm wishes posted on their FA shouts and twitters long dormant from their imprisonment.
Worst still are the masses neutral to furry being made inclusive to these dangerous people as though it's a matter of course. "But furry is inclusive and HAS to be inclusive!" Fuck. That.
I've seen the fringes of the fandom's social sphere, and on that edge live people 17-20 or so who make rp accounts on f-list, twitter, telegram, discord. They commit the most heinous crime of reutilization of furry art to typefuck. They dare to besmerch the brand of big titty vixen by renaming her and making her an anal fiend.
You lot declare these young people, many testing your waters, needibg guidance, as "art thieves"*, you form little 'net posses to hunt down and report these most vile personas non grata... You socially exclude them likeva motherfucker.
And I can't help but wonder how much healthier and safer furry would be if you applied half that vitriol, exclusion and righteous effort into weeding out child abusers.
Angry screaming can be directed to the comments \/
*Yes I've had my art actually stolen. This ain't that.

I loved if nothing else his elegant words on the uselessness of IQ measures.

The Superb Owl Looms
Posted 7 years agoAs a Philly area guy I'm legally required to support the Eagles, but honestly I hardly follow the game and the Vikings seem an equally deserving team for what they win, with maybe a good bit pf luck in the playoffs (like the Eagles).
I'm honestly more hopeful that the pats get defeated. Don't have strong feelings on the Jags, but I'm just damn tired of the Pats always either making it to or winning it all.
You may proceed to fling vile hatred upon me below.

Deer caught on film licking fox...

"So maybe it was an especially bold buck and a uniquely lonely fox that met under that fading afternoon sun on Santa Catalina Island. They neared each other in the brush of the only land they’ve ever known. And when they were close enough to touch, they were both filled with enough wonder to decide: why not?"

A Britishism I really hate...
Posted 10 years ago"Maths"
Fuck "maths". It's math, self-plural like fish.
I know, it's short for 'mathematics', but tell me, have you ever seen 'a mathematic' used as a singular noun? Maybe used in place of mathematical as an adjective, but that's not the same.
Nobody shortens ammunition to "ammos" despite the fact ammunition is it's own plural. In fact, since it's shortening via contraction by taking the first four and last letter, "maths" should really be spelled out "math's" like "it's". However, much like the later, this would only lead to contraction/possessive use confusion.
We'd either have.
"That involves maths. It's one of math's quirks."
OR
"That involves math's. It's one of maths' (math's'?) quirks."
So fuck all that noise. Use math. Math works. Math is plural as fuck. Drop the s and sound like less of a douchebag.
Next up, why do Aussies not use a diminutive form of stickers, 'stickies', if they call bikers 'bikies'?

This isn't political statementing by me, I'm just laughing a lot that someone decided the best way to buddy up/interview for a job with Panda Express was to show what a massive weeaboo he was with his toy katana...
And the cops shot his ass dead for it. Fuck, that's all kinds of awesome.

British response to ISIS makes me feel bad for their troops
Posted 11 years agoRoughly 10% of their deployed planes are combat worthy...
Their new carrier which cost billions, can't afford an air-wing that costs millions...
And their pilots are eating MREs meant for Iraqis.
Seriously why the everloving fuck do the British Military get treated so shitty by their government? US service personnel love to bitch about their conditions, but nothing ever gets this fucked up.

Cat Trade In Idea
Posted 11 years agoThere's two things we have a plethora of, that are nice cats in kill shelters who seriously need a home and likely won't get one...
And asshole cats people already have. The type that freak out and bite everyone, or who only liked one person who moved away/died years ago.
I see a very simple solution. Cat trade in day. Mr. Grouchfuck gets traded in for a nicer purrier friend. You get a better cat. Shelter unloads one of their nice cats, and Mr. Grouchfuck goes the fuck away.
Win-win-deadcatwin!
Ideas?

Just watch it. It's CPPGrey, and it's full of a shocking amount of truth. Basically, latest breakthroughs not in just technology itself, but new applications could threaten a wide variety of jobs, potentially making unemployment skyrocket in the coming years. Not because people are lazy, or stupid, but just because they're not needed.

*insert horse pun here* or Bronycon report
Posted 11 years agoI can play both sides of the field, can't I? Liking my yiffywolfs and small equines too? No, okay...
Well I haven't been to a con in forever, so when Shortwave wrangled me into being staff for him for BC logistics, it was bittersweet. Still had fun, but very little time for 'con stuff'.
About those hotel foxtrots... More female representation than I'd expect. Kids naturally too. Overall, more chance of little bronies than little furries going off demographics. Bronies are also surprisingly honest. Working lost and found it wasn't uncommon for someone to show up with not only a lost wallet/ipod/etc, but wads of cash, like 40, 100 bucks. Don't know if furries would as a whole, make a lost and found work that well.
After hearing horror stories about Everfree, I was expect zero fursuit presence or a hostile-to-fursuit attitude. There certainly wasn't the same kind of fursuiter preference or infrastructure to take care of overheating suiters as say AC has... but people were nice to suiters even if they weren't always as understanding of their plight, trying to get pictures even as they were making their way back to the lounge. The little 'red' badges worked well for that it seemed. Only like ten suiters for a convention of 9,600 though. Lots of not-pony related cosplay, or semi-pony related; Guys dressed as Russian troops, lots of TF2 dudes and one guy as Dallas from Payday.
Spaghetti too. So much spaghetti.
One thing I saw that did shock me, like a lot, was two guys dressed in soft fleece hoodies of ponies... with badges of their OCs in diapers and pacifiers. Yes gents, babyfur equivalents in brony exist. Ugh...

Iraqi Terrorists Now Richest Terrorists
Posted 11 years agohttp://www.ibtimes.co.uk/mosul-seiz.....-force-1452190
It seems like the Iraqi security forces are in no shape to combat ISIS as is. 429 million bucks in the hands of the terrorists, plus Mosul, 1,000 prisoners and tons of US equipment isn't going to help that at all.

ATF tries to be dickbags over trusts, and backfires
Posted 11 years agohttp://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/20.....-gun-registry/
So with them trying to cockblock trusts over a NICS check or something, the ATF redefined trusts as not 'persons', which might make it a million times easier for trusts to get no-shit machine guns.
Sometimes government non-legislative dickery works in one's favor.
