Just like what it says in the title, since the price increase is happening in the new year to $.04/word, I am offering a last chance commission offering at $.03/word. Please note that it will be put on the backend and I do have a substantial amount of words to do yet, so these will probably be written in 2026. Hey everyone! Doing an update here. We have finished up the Sabrewolf Summer Sales Spectacular, and I got a lot of work ahead of me! That being said I did fall a little short of my goal. I still need about 4k to clear off the last two big real business debts, but for the moment I have to try and get some words done so that my queue isn't huge.

We will be having an end of year drawing for the free words that accumulated due to the summer sales spectacular. The breakdown of prizes is as follows:

Welp, it's the final quarter of the year, and barring getting sick for two months like last year I'm hoping that it's going to be a very productive one. With MFF out of the picture for vending, it gives much more time to everything that has to be done. The Iron Pen this month cut around a quarter of a million words off the queue, and the plan is still to finish everything by the end of the year. But I'm going to be working in more for other projects as well, including:

Two video games scripted and programmed for Talon, Tooth, and Paw
All books that have cover art to be edited and published
Websites updated with new and pertinent information
Uploading everything to FA from here and Shiftcore

Most importantly, I'm going to be focusing more on Sabrewolf Cafe, trying to build the community there.

Yep, it's Covid. Fortunately it seems to be a somewhat mild case, whether due to strain or being vaxxed, which means that Kitty and I aren't in any real danger, just annoyed and sick. Unfortunately that means all the plans that I had for getting ready for the Iron Pen have basically been flushed down the toilet. So all writing is going to have to be relegrated to the Iron Pen next week, which includes the last project that I wanted to get done before that. I'm trying to recover as fast as possible, and in the interim I'm going to be trying to post, catch up on things, and do other admin work.

That also means that the inventory and store stock building that I was intending on doing will have to wait until October. I might also do a bit of editing as well, but most energy will be made in preparing for the Iron Pen and the massive amount of writing that's about to be done.

Apologies for anyone waiting on those things, once we're in October I'll be back to normal.

We're back! As always it was a lot of fun, and very exhausting, and we made quite a few sales too! I'm back now and mostly taking the day to recuperate and get ready for the next few weeks. It's going to be a bit of writing, as well as trying to make sure that everything is good for posting on patreon and here.

Also, with the sales that we got at the den, I'm getting even closer to the goal that I had set out to remove the extraneous business debt from Smilodon Studio's ledger. At this point I'm about 6k away from getting rid of the bulk of the debt, which is amazing. If I can clear that by the end of the year then I can move forward in my plans, as well as keep things like Shiftcore and the final renovations of the Sabrewolf Cafe in the black. All anthologies are still open, as well as commissions and such. I ask that if you are considering it then get them in before the Iron Pen in September.

Speaking of such, we're less than two weeks away from the Iron Pen. I'm looking to get a massive amount of words done in that month, and will only be focusing on the queue. Attempts to reach out to me, save for the commission chat in telegram, will likely be passed until the weekend. That includes no streaming, and normal operations will resume on Oct 6th.

Hey everyone! What a July it's been, there's been quite a few submissions to the anthologies and a couple commissions! From what I've tallied up so far, though I still have to get everything squared away, Things that Go Bump in the Night, Better than AI, and The Bal'Kar Chronicles have all reached their minimums to make into books, so if you decide you want a slot there, then it's definitely getting done! It's also been a rather busy time, and even with a week in vacation in there we still had a decent output. Hopefully we can keep things going into August to keep getting more words, especially since I have two debts that are getting fairly close to being paid off. I'm also changing out the Summer Vacation anthology, and with the idea of the Cuffs Off anthology being merged into a new concept that will be released tomorrow.

So what's going to be happening for August? I have IndyFurCon coming up in the middle of the month, otherwise the rest of the time is going to be doing more writing and preparing a few other things as well. I will be focusing a little more on Talon, Tooth, and Paw with scripting, but saving the Unity for after September's Iron Pen.

So what's going to happen with September? Basically, everything is going to be focused all in on the writing. I will be disappearing for those four to five weeks, and other then commission related communications I will probably not be very social to keep focus, and with the amount of work I'll be doing I will probably have nothing in the weekend. There will be no streaming on the Sabrewolf Cafe, nothing uploaded here, and other than Patreon/Subscribestar updates everything will be pretty much put on hold. The idea is going to be to completely wipe out the queue, including everything that is being stacked up on these current anthologies, so if you're looking to get a slot, please make sure to put it in sooner rather than later!

But like I said, everything will be going normal for August, save IFC, and will try and put everything as up to date as possible.

Hello everyone! I'm almost back from vacation, but I wanted to share this with you so we can get some excitement going! I only have one convention planned for the rest of the year and an Iron Pen that will be happening in September, so I figured now is a great time to kick off what is probably one of the biggest commission offerings that I've ever done. There are a couple of reasons for doing this now:

- At the end of the year I'm going to be curating my commission list a lot more. No more free-for-all commissions; instead, I'll probably be doing something more like picking up a certain amount per month. This is to control backlog and keep things from getting out of hand.

- My pricing will increase at the end of the year. Currently, it's at $.03/word, and has been for quite a while. At the end of the year it'll be going up to $.035/word. This one is mostly because of inflation, and hopefully with the offering of flash commissions it won't be too bad. Patreon pricing will not be affected.

- Offering payment plans, by putting it this far out, I'm hoping that it will give people who want a commission in something like an anthology time to pay without having to put up huge chunks.

- My mate has gotten a sudo pay bump at work, and if I can get the amount of business debt down that I currently have then it's possible I no longer have to work 12-14 hour days like I have been the last six months or so. This also means that I could get away from having most of my time be dedicated to writing; there are so many other projects that I want to get going, but with current bills most of my time is being put into writing.


So what's going to be on offer?

- At least five different anthologies: They will be of various themes, and unlike the other times I did anthologies there is no hard time limit on when to fulfill them. The only thing would be once they reach funding (50k words) that I'd probably get started on it when there was an opening. Patreon words can be used in these anthologies.

- All lengths of stories on offer: Flash stories, short stories, long stories, and books are all up for commissioning. If you get a book-length manuscript (at least 50,000 words), then it comes with cover art when it's turned into a book. Since this is the last offering before the price increase, technically, they're on sale.

- Payment plans available: Since this project will run until December, I will accept payment plans all the way up to that point, including for anthologies.

- End of year raffle: For every 50k words that are sold during this time, I'll be throwing in a 5k story for a raffle at the end of the year. If we reach 250k, I'll also toss in a 10k, and if we get to 500k, I'll put in a 20k story up for grabs as well!

- Iron Pen September: I'm expecting the bulk of these stories to be done in September, though if we get a lot of interest then I may have to schedule another for January too.

- Telegram commission room and special Trello board: All those getting commissions can see progress on a special trello board for this, and get access to a special telegram for those who commission me.

I will be updating my new commission form and releasing information on the anthologies here once I'm officially done with my vacation tomorrow. As the title mentions, I'll be on vacation from July 1 to July 8, in which case I will not be working at all. If you have any commissions or any questions, please either get them in now or hold them until after I get back.

Once I'm back commissions will be open again as normal, including the new flash fiction offerings from between 1-5k. The last few weeks I've been focusing on the writing and almost have the entire backlog from when I was really sick finished up, and with an Iron Pen scheduled for September, we're looking at a clean queue before fall. Once I'm back from vacation I'm also going to be working more on Talon, Tooth, and Paw to get that up and running. All three of us have been working when we could to keep it going with the Unity changeover, and hoping we'll have something tangible by the end of the year.

I have never really tried doing flash stories before, but I had recently gotten a little experience in them from a different project, and I figured if people wanted to try it then I would certainly oblige! Happy Pride month everyone,

It's going to be a busy month for me, and as we're ramping up to things getting done I have been reorganizing a few things. Some things are getting more attention, others less, while still more are on hold or cancelled completely. Here are a list of things that are going on or I've had to readjust.

- Smilodon Studio - On Hold

For those who know, Smilodon Studio was going to be my clean books and such that I wanted to work on. At this point though I have far bigger fish to fry and a lot of work to do, so at least until the end of the year I probably won't be moving any further with this particular project. It's still on my list, but I won't be looking at it for a while at least.


- Black Phoenix Productions - Full Speed Ahead

My commission writing is still my bread and butter, and as such it remains the focus while I attempt to get everything in my financial house in order. This is the backbone of everything I do and I'm actually putting more time into getting the backlog done and new work. It's going to culminate in September with the Iron Pen, which is going to be a
huge writing push.


- Talon, Tooth, and Paw - Paused

This one is a little tricky, since Raven and Witt and I are still doing logistical things with this one. With the push to Unity and our busy lives we had to slow down on putting in new games. Since there weren't a lot of eyes on us in the first place we wanted to delay the big unveiling of our first game until we get a little more settled in and have a polished game to put out.


- Shiftcore - Full Speed Ahead

Still got people making comics, and attempting to put in a few more things here. However there is a caveat to this one that I'll be explaining on the official Shiftcore FA, which is that we need to start making more on the patreon. I'm not going to put much more on this though, except that we'll be looking into advertising and such.


- Sabrewolf Cafe - Full Speed Ahead

With all the assets that have been developed for this, I feel like I want to at least make a decent push in my streaming and Youtube endeavors. It's something different from writing commissions and I really want to try to do it.


- Crafty Sabrewolf - Scaling Back

With doing less conventions, I will definitely not be doing as much with my candles and such. It's a shame because I just got a restock of my supplies, but I need my weekends free for other things.


- Freedom of Form Foundation - Cancelled

The one thing that I have outright stepped away from in my professional life, and that is being a board member and the treasurer for the Freedom of Form Foundation. It was a great experience for what I had, but as they continue to grow they need someone that will give it full attention for its needs. Effective May 30th I resigned from both posts, and I wish them all well.


As we get to the second half of the year there are other personal changes that I need to make, but for the moment I've been sorting my professional laundry first. For those who were waiting on the scaled back stuff I do hope that you won't worry, I will get to it eventually.

Every creator's enjoyment, getting through the double gut punch of taxes for April and June. So now is as good a time as any to say that there are a number of different ways to support what I do!

I'm just writing this to inform that posting here for a while is going to be extremely sparse; I'm going to be adjusting the way I do things and that's going to include another round of editing and posting to my personal website. Just wanted to make sure that people knew so they didn't think I was under a rock or something. ^. .^;;

So I have a lot of stuff going on this week, and after having a very productive first few months I decided to take a week off to do all this stuff and rest/recharge. It's mostly maintenance stuff; I have people coming in to make repairs to the house, doctor's appointments, vet visits, etc, and they're all on this week. Technically I was going to take the prior week off too, but I had gotten a sinus infection and wanted to make up for it. Once I get back on the 14th I'll be going back to the three block schedule, and that I'll actually do for all of this second quarter.

On one more note, I will probably not be taking any more commissions until June, save for anyone who wants to use patreon words. It's a chance for me to catch up on everything and try to keep on the schedule. So other then the Sabrewolf Cafe that will be having its grand opening on Mon, everything else will be put on pause until next Mon.

As I had mentioned in the comments section, the April Fool part of that post was giving the illusion that Philip wasn't real. What started out as an inside joke in my twitch stream became a secret nexus lord, though if you've read some of the work with the nexus lord, particularly the books, one may have noticed hints at an enigmatic figure that the other nexus lords feared. That creature is, in fact, Philip. Philip is a ram, the literal black sheep of the nexus lords, and he is ace as well as a CNA (Certified Nexus Accountant). He is also the balance to the other twelve, which means he's as powerful, if not more so, then them combined.

So yeah, lore drop!

There are rumors in the nexus realm that of the twelve known nexus lords, there is a thirteenth one that also presides there. A creature who is the balance to the others, an ace sheep that enjoys accounting and cereal... one that the other lords fear due to his mighty auditing of their realms...
