Posted 10 months agoI don't have much of an update to give, other than the fact that I had my trip to Japan earlier this year. And it was awesome! Spent most of my time at Osaka and Tokyo, but had also a brief visit at Nagoya and the city of Fuji (next to Mt. Fuji). Ate a lot of ramen and takoyaki, visited retro game stores, zoos, aquarius, and overall just walked a lot around the cities and enjoyed the views and local culture and architecture.
Definitely going to visit Japan again in a few upcoming years. This was my first time ever going aboard (if Sweden doesn't count, been there a couple of times), so I could also try to arrange trips to somewhere closer, like in UK or Ireland perhaps.
But anyway... Despite me not drawing nearly as much art as I've used to back in the days, I just wanted to thank everyone of you in general for liking, sharing and commenting my art, whether it's happening here in FA or other social media platforms. While for most of the time I poorly respond back to those comments, every single comment I receive is appreciated. 👍 Cheers me up everytime I might feel like I'm "falling out", and that I'm not taking part of this fuzzy little community as much as I wish to.

Posted 2 years agoLike the title says, I wanna wish to all of you a very Merry Christmas, or at the very least Happy Holidays, no matter how you celebrate it. I might as well also give you a brief journal about how things are going in my life in general.
I know I haven't been the most active user/artist around here recently, but I still check this place out quite often. Haven't been drawing an awfully lot since I've mostly been focused on my IRL work and other non-art related stuff that I like to do.
The art that I've been drawing is mostly to my alt account (over here: https://www.furaffinity.net/user/pillulisko/ ), and they've been my own personal projects instead of commissions. I guess at the moment, that's how I would like to keep things rolling. I don't need the money from commissions since about a year and a half ago I found myself a job that I actually care about and find fairly meaningful to myself. None of that customer service BS that I did before all this and which used to drain me emotionally. I actually feel very happy about my situation now.
Though, I do owe an art piece or two to people, so I gotta focus on finishing those eventually. The way how I like to draw my art is pretty "freeform" in lots of ways. What I intend to draw at first, might turn out to be something entirely different when I finish, so I guess that's partly why I don't feel like taking commissions right now. I just want to my mind wander off and draw whatever it is that I feel.
What else should I write about... Video games are awesome, as usual. Haven't played that many new games (HiFi Rush and Mario Wonder, I guess that's it) but I've been catching up with some older (but bigger) games, like Bloodborne and Ghost of Tsushima. Been having a helluva good time with these titles.
I also started to learn Japanese with Duolingo, so that's been fun. May end up traveling there someday, so I wanna be able to understand the language at least a little bit.
Visiting my mom at the moment. She moved closer to me at the spring, so it'll only take a bus ride to visit her now, instead of taking a train. Been eating good while staying here!
I guess that's pretty much all that there is to tell about my current situation. Thanks for sticking with me during all these years. Enjoy the Holidays!

It's been a while since I've really wrote anything here. I haven't been all that active with FurAffinity (or with furry/scaly stuff in general apart from Twitter) for recent years. Every once in a while I tend to poke my head up and draw a little bit of art, but then I go "hiding" for several months or so. For that, I apologize.
This has nothing to do with the fandom itself, far from it. I've met some really good people over here, for which I wish to get back in touch and keep up better communication. For the past six years, I've just been working with such (mentally) exhausting day job that makes me want to keep socialising in minimum. Not to mention, all my free time tends to go with not-so-creative activities, and thus art tends to suffer from this. I'm sure many of you can relate with this on some degree.
But things are about to change. I'm currently in the progress of quitting my job. Not to go into details too deeply, but something occurred at my job which made me (and many of my colleagues) to seek other opportunities.
Therefore, I've decided to give a try for freelancing. I want to get back to drawing art, so I will open for commissions later this summer, by the end of July at the latest. I have enough savings so that I can get by sometime without any earnings, so I'm not in trouble right away if things won't work out as expected. Let's just say that after so many years of working on a field that I've been part of, freelancing seems like a breath of fresh air.
I will make another journal once I "go online" and have settled with ToS and pricing. I do owe some art for some people (mainly the raffle things from March) so I will absolutely finish those first before accepting any new works.
And of course, feel free to send notes or PMs if you just wish to talk in general. I'm currently having my summer vacation (just one more day of work remaining with my current employer at the later part of July), so I should have time to respond. Currently visiting my mom though, so that might keep me a bit occupied for a couple of days.

Posted 9 years agoIt was pretty much the perfect birthday gift to me. I'm glad the movie did have its premiere in Finland today so I was able to see it while it's still fresh, so to speak.
While I already had seen quite a lot of clips from the movie, thanks to Tumblr, and I had already figured out a lot of the story beforehand, it was still very enjoyable experience. The visuals were pretty stunning, lots of nice and memorable scenes n' quotes in the movie, great sense of humor altogether and just about a perfect 'furry' movie. Gotta buy the DVD once it's released!
Also, Clawhauser's face is just too damn cute to look at, with that wobbly chin of his and all.
