Working on getting settled here in the UK and so I'd like to take on some softpaw feet and handpaws. 30% non refundable deposit required for a space in my queue. I'll need to order vinyl and fur since I don't have any stock (just a tiny bit of fur).

Commissions Closed until I'm reopen in the UK. Thanks everyone!

As stated previously, we’ll be opening for some commissions to take us from when we’ve finished the few small things left in our queue until when I have to move. These commissions will mostly require full payment immediately. Alternatively if the item is over $400 USD before shipping, I’ll consider a 50% non refundable payment immediately and the other 50% within 2 weeks. I may not start your project until the full payment has been received. Shipping is to be calculated and paid upon completion unless you have a small project that will go for a predictable flat rate small packet price.

We’re willing to consider commissions of nearly any type, large or small, however if something like a DTD is required it may have to be express shipped straight away so keep that in mind. Major preference is going to be for projects that I have materials in stock for. Though I have a ton of fur so that shouldn’t be a huge restriction.

With the exclusion of the different pricing schematic that I’ve outlined above, here are my ToS:

Hi everyone,

Just a bit of an announcement about some big changes coming up. We’ll be opening shortly for some special commissions, pay in full and we’ll make it straight away, completion in 1 week for smaller items and maybe 2-3 for major things. Major preference will go to projects that we have materials for since we want these to be really quick turnover, but otherwise there isn’t much restriction on what we will/won’t take on for this opening.

These commissions should take us up until early August, at which point I’m going to be moving to the UK for two years. I will be working there as well, however I won’t have Stalkholm anymore which will put a large dent in output. I’ll also be working in a smaller space and without my large stock of materials so my business model will likely change. Shipping will also be from the UK, so that’ll be a good chance for europeans to get work from me without the ridiculous overseas shipping charges! However for my North American clients I’m sure shipping will be a lot higher. I’m not sure on exact pricing for anything though, or when I’ll be up and running again, so expect a complete closure of all commissions for a couple of months until I can get sorted over there.

Summer 2018 I’ll be moving back to Canada and will again resume business from here.

Hi everyone,

First of all, thank you so much to everyone who filled out forms! I'm closing them now and we have lots of cool projects. I'm sorry if you were one of the ones I didn't get back to.

However, this round has been a record number of people not responding to me after I quote them. It's completely fine if you don't want to go ahead with the project, but it's hard when we only have so many slots and I'm waiting on 10 people who just never get back to me instead of taking the 10 seconds to email back, "no thank you."

If nothing else, we normally get many more quotes than we can respond to, and if I spend 45 minutes quoting a person for for their tail and they never so much as respond, then in 6 months if they fill out a form again and I can only respond to so many people, they probably won't be too high up on the list because of the perceived assumption that I won't get a response anymore.

Anyways, thanks for reading and a huge extra thanks for all of you who did respond!

Hi everyone,

Long time no journal here! I hope you're all well and had good holidays. Things have been really busy for us, and coming up in the next two months we'll be busy prepping for selling at Vancoufur! In addition to that, we have suits for Shinkei, Dax, and Nath to do. Despite all of this work, sometime in the week of January 11th, I'll open for a few small project slots, though completion on them may not be until April, it depends how quickly our other work goes and how everything falls together.

We'll take 4 soft paw feet slots, which we haven't opened for in a while.
Also we'll open for hooded capelets, and some tails.

Hi everyone,

Next Friday, July 3rd, I will open quote forms for some small projects. This will include hooded capelets and tails. Handpaw commissions will also be available through etsy. We're hoping to keep a certain number of hand commissions open at all times from now on.

Large project quote forms will open on July 15th. We're hoping to take on 4-6 projects depending on complexity. More info to come, but start saving up 30% deposit if you're interested. Definitely want to take on at least 1 fullsuit, and for all projects artistic liberty projects will have a higher chance of being accepted.

Hi everyone,
I've just finished transferring our current queue over to Trello!

This means that instead of having handwritten lists around the studio and then posting updates once a week on FA, now Stalkholm and I can both update our progress on commissions in real time, as well as use it for our own to-do list, and it will save me having to transcribe lists all over the place.

Trello is also great because anyone interested can subscribe to different things and get email notifications, this is especially useful if you have a slot in our queue and can now be notified when we start on it and as we complete different steps. Another way I'll be utilizing notifications is by having a "commission openings" column. If you subscribe to that column you should be notified anytime I add a card to it, which I will add to announce upcoming slot openings.

I also have an "announcements/updates" column. I'm going to be using this as a weekly updating tool, giving a bit of an overview of anything I want to say about the previous week and maybe what we'll be up to next week. I should normally only update this every Friday afternoon, so if you choose to subscribe to that column you shouldn't be overwhelmed with emails.

Hi everyone,

As with a lot of people I'm not too thrilled by the new ads to say the least. I'm trying to run a professional business and I don't need potential clients googling for my business and finding it associated with ads for rape porn and whatever else. I don't mind at all being on a site with artist-made adult works, but such cheap offensive advertising seems like a desperate money grab, and not something I prefer to associate my business with.

That being said, I'm not leaving FA. I truly appreciate all of our watchers and followers here and it is where so much of our business comes from. Also the art site format is something that I enjoy, as FB business pages get their posts filtered/not sent to all of their followers, and tumblr isn't a great place to have discussions, nor is twitter with the character cap. However, I do enjoy all of those sites for their own merits, and I hope that Weasyl does catch on enough to get the momentum it needs to be a viable alternative.

So anyways, I am going to make an effort to not make FA the place that I update first/most often, even though thus far it has been quite convenient for me. It'll be a slow transition and it should be more of me keeping up better with other sites, so don't panic if FA is all you use.

Hi everyone,

Weekly update a day early, short week this week! Got a lot done though! Crux is coming along great and we've got a good start on Kyros' capelet and Deo's hands. I'll stop in at the fabric store tomorrow and grab grey minky so we can get going on hugeguts' tail. Next week we'll also do Tali's ears! We also made a new style of hands and the prototype pair will be up for sale on Monday (or whenever I get the photos onto my computer).


Also this week, we got in a big shipment of fleece and we're going to try making a few fursuit props for something sort of fun to do between projects. If anyone has any requests of anything they'd like to see please speak up! We'll open for customs after we've done some premades. And speaking of openings, our queue is getting shorter so hopefully by the end of next week I should have an estimate of when we'll be opening for new projects and what those openings will be.

Hi everyone,

I'm thinking about starting up a patreon. I don't want to do anything too extensive/time consuming as I can't take any time out of my regular work, but some extra funding to get time to work on creating new patterns (sock hooves anyone?) and afford a real camera and lighting/backdrop stuff would be a huge help. I love my job but my debt definitely hasn't decreased since starting!


Anyways, I'm wondering what kind of rewards any potential patrons might be interested in. As I said before, I can't be locked into anything that would take up too much time. Definitely lots of WIP pictures including things that are more technique based, which are things I usually don't show. Also etsy coupons as well as commission discounts, ability to buy resin/foam bases from me, and the chance to "adopt" design sketches for discounted guinea pig commissions of new products, as well as first dibs on premade items.

I'm not sure if people signing up would be fellow makers/hobbyists, RE: interested in techniques, tutorials, and buying bases/cast parts etc. or if more people would just be consumers more interested in discounts on commissions and finished products and rewards of "finished" items.

Also thinking it would be nice for patrons to have a private subreddit, facebook group, or twitter for people to ask questions or have discussions with me, but I'm not sure what the best venue would be or if it would be popular enough to have merit.

I'd appreciated any feedback on this!
