Yes, I Live...
Posted 9 years agoYes, I haven't been here since, like, August... Bad bahr.
With the holidays, I got absently interested in clay sculptures, and spat out 3 little silly things in one evening, using white FIMO. My husband, partner, and my partner's sister were so tickled by these physical "sketches" (for lack of better term), that they got me a toaster oven, so I can bake these little bad boys. I'll post photos, later. But I just wanted to give a head's-up on what might be appearing on my page, here.

The Deck is a GO!
Posted 10 years agoI am moving forward with making Tarot of the Mice! I have a kickstarter in action right now! And if the campaign fails, I have a back-up plan! I will print the cards in-house, use them at CaliFur, and sell a few extra decks. I'm so excited about this :)
CaliFur was awesome.
Posted 10 years agoWe had a blast at CaliFur. Thank you, folks who came by the Wulfenbahr Arts booth in the dealers' den. It was great seeing folks.
Next year's theme is The Renaissance, and I have an idea to do a mouseling fortune teller. I've already been talking to Zee about having a tarot booth. Madame Gorgonzola! Pawm and Tarot reader! I'm looking at making my own tarot deck, but also getting the Gummy Bear Tarot as a back-up deck. I'm not sure how well I'll read with it, but it's mostly traditional. I'd read better with the Hello Kitty deck, but I can't get that, while Gummy Tarot is still in print.

PayPal Change of Policy
Posted 10 years agoIn case you use PayPal and have people send you commission payment as "gift" instead of "Goods/Services," be certain to check out the updated Terms of Use. I posted a Beware about it on LiveJournal.
So, yeah. Post-its.
Posted 10 years agoI don't know why I'm suddenly on a post-it doodle spree. I've done four sketches today, after a friend on FB asked for "giggly hearts"... I might go ahead and upload that first doodle, since the other three are on here, too.
So, yeah. Post-it sketches, with sharpie ultra-fine-tip markers after the rough pencil.

Posted 10 years agoYup, it's official! Wulfenbahr Arts will be at CaliFur, this year.
Online Tarot Readings
Posted 10 years agoYeah, I know, this has squaddoo to do with furry stuff.
I've been reading tarot since the mid 1970s (yes, I'm hold. Hush, you). I was reading in World of Warcraft, for shits 'n giggles, in the major cities, for tips. Since I don't play WoW any longer, I still wanted to read for tips, so I set up a tumblr account.

You might have noticed...
Posted 10 years ago...that I've been posting a lot of steampunk designs that our workshop has put out recently. We purchased the linework from Urban Threads, and Brandy (Annimeercat) goes to visit her own private Idaho and paints the bejeebers out of them. They're located in our Keepsake Boxes section of our Square Store.
Stuffy!
Posted 10 years agoSo, I made THIS for my son's 11th birthday. It was pretty easy for me to make, so I picked up more fleece to make some more. I'm going to modify the pattern to a wolf version.
The foxes I'm going to make this week will be available on Etsy. Photos will be posted.

Patreon and Wulfenbahr Arts
Posted 11 years agoYes, Wulfenbahr Arts has launched a Patreon Campaign (and guess who's in charge of the online end of things?)
A mere $1/month gets the subscriber 20% off their entire purchase, once a month.
$2.50/month gets the discount and a 200x200 userpic of that month's Dream Box design.
$5/month gets the discount, the userpic, and an engraved wood post card (in snail mail).
$10/month gets the discount, the userpic, and (via snail mail) that month's Dream Box itself (and they're very cute, seriously).
$15/month gets everything (discount, userpic, post card AND dream box).
Plus, special subscriber sales.

Stick her? I don't even know her! (Pawprint Stickers)
Posted 11 years agoOkay, that was a bad joke from the 1980s, from a local radio station, at that.
The point is, we're offering THESE STICKERS in our Square shop... And if one purchases something this week only from our shop, and uses TWITTER at checkout, one will have 4 of them included with their order! Because it's this week's Twitter Promo. And there's a very wee discount (of 1%) so that the system alerts us that This Purchase gets the stickers!

SupremeFox!
Posted 11 years agoMy son wanted to help Wulfenbahr Arts with design stuff, so I said, "Hey. How about you design a coffee mug? We'll put it on Cafe Press, and whatever sells, you keep the profits." He liked that idea, and so, SupremeFox was born!
So, yeah. My "little" boy wants to earn some money (in a safe, not-so-sane manner). Who said designers were sane, after all? :D

Lunch bags!
Posted 11 years agoSo, my son has started summer camp. The deal with his camp is, I have him prepped for pick-up by 8:30am. Prepped means: Swim shorts, towel, flip-flops, bagged lunch, with a backpack to hold all that. They pick him (and his stuff) up, and return him by 4:30, pleasantly exhausted. I'm totally down with that.
You can see other lunchbags I've drawn in the past for him, searching by "lunchbag"... This year, he's only going M/W/F, instead of last year's M-F schedule. Thanks to his Nana (my mom-in-law), for paying the fee for him to go.

SoCal folks - need anything?
Posted 11 years agoWe're in a bit of a bind, and need $5 in our PayPal to cover Etsy fees... If you're in SoCal, and there's anything in our purl=http://mkt.com/wulfenbahr-arts]Square Store that you're interested in, I can sell it to you (through PayPal, not Square), if we can arrange for delivery (either you pick up or I come to you somewhere not too far from South Pasadena (210/134 interchange) or the San Fernando Valley...
...for 20% off. Anything. Through PayPal (and sold as physical items/not as a gift! Bahr don't play that game)...
http://mkt.com/wulfenbahr-arts to peruse our wares.
Or, of course, you could just up and buy something from our Etsy[/ulr] store (and that would cover the overdue fees!)

On the agenda!
Posted 11 years agoThis Saturday (a week from today), Wulfenbahr Arts will be at Steampunk L.A..
On July 19, we'll be at Hillary's Vanity Vendors, in Woodland Hills, CA.
On July 26, we'll be at Festival of the Rose (Wintermist), in Bakersfield, CA. We might not be merchanting, as it will be mid-summer, in Bakersfield, but we will be in attendance.

1 dollar sketches!

Yes! You have a chance to tell me what to draw, and I'll do a (probably crappy) marker sketch of it, and either scan it or use my camera phone, for YOU!
Because you know you want one.
They're a buck, via PayPal or SquareUp. Subject matter will be PG-13 or tamer (because I'm a mom, and my son often "supervises").

Pics are trickling in
Posted 11 years agoBecause I had to drive 40 miles to pick up my dog from the dogsitter, I didn't get a chance to take pics of badges we made (we made duplicates of a couple of them, because they turned out so good, to keep as display pieces)... But some delightful folks have been posting them around.
There are a few pics around, like THIS, belonging to
panictehnawt...
and THIS, which we made for

Shots & Pints!
Posted 11 years agoWe're going to have CaliFur X shot glasses and pint glasses available at our booth, this year, since they were a huge hit last year :)
We love doing glassware - we're just bummed that we can't do them on-site, because our smaller laser engraver isn't geared for round objects.

Hooray for YIFFYWOOD!
Posted 11 years agoI'll be making/selling these YIFFYWOOD ping pong balls at the Wulfenbahr Arts booth at Califur, for $2. They'll say CALIFUR X on the back.
Cutie Mark Eggs!
Posted 11 years agohttps://squareup.com/market/wulfenb.....ne-six-egg-set
Wulfenbahr Arts is making MLP/FIM cutie mark eggs! We currently have the Mane Six designed up and ready to go. I'm taking orders on individual marks and sets for CaliFur, via the Square Store.

Seeking Commission
Posted 11 years agoI GOT SOMEBODY COMMISSIONED - THANK YOU!
I've got a $10 budget for an heraldic depiction of a golden hamster, with bat-wings, wearing a collar. In heraldese, it would be a hamster rampant Or, with bat wings endorsed and a riveted collar sable. In English, it's a rearing-up, yellow/gold hamster in profile, with black bat wings that are kind of mantled-ish, with a black studded collar. For those familiar with the Barony of Wyewood, yes, I want Bubba. http://www.wyewood.org/wye_bubbaland.html has some depictions of him.
I am NOT asking for exclusive use of the image, but I am commissioning it on behalf of a client, who wants it put on a rolling pin. My requirement is for clean linework, preferably in CDR, but PNG is fine (and I'll convert to vectors). Your image will likely be edited/adjusted further.
Please poke me on Facebook (as Snobahr) or here :) I also posted a request to the FA forums.

Odd question
Posted 11 years agoYeah, I'm out of the loop and clueless.
What's an "adoptable" (in the furry art community)?

Home from RMFC
Posted 13 years agoSo, the northern route from Denver to Los Angeles (going through Utah) is supposed to be some 200 miles less than the southern route (going through Albuquerque, NM). Coming back was pure, unmitigated hell.
Sunday night, I pulled some soft tissue in my left hand, making holding things... interesting.
Monday morning, it was raining as we got onto the freeway heading out of Denver. I hate driving in the rain, normally, but add to it the fun of Unfamiliar and Oversized Vehicle, and Unfamiliar Territory, and I'm not ashamed to admit that I had a deathgrip on the steering wheel.
All day, Monday, it was rain. Usually light rain, but enough to keep the roads wet. Through the mountains. Lots and lots of mountains. We got to Fishlake Park in (Utah, I think?), and stopped for the night, because it was Dark, Rainy, and it didn't look like we were out of the mountains, YET. The next morning, we discovered we chose wisely in our location to stop, because there was not only rainy roads Monday night, but more road construction taking it to one lane, and yes, more mountains. Wet, under-construction, twisty mountain roads in the dark makes for a Very Unhappy Bahr.
Tuesday was decent - things were dry (or at least, dry enough), and we made good time getting home. Couldn't see a friend in Las Vegas (she had other commitments), so we got home around, uh... 9:30pm.
Wednesday (today), we returned the rental van, and I've been playing WoW since getting home. I have a patch to make tomorrow or Friday, and then I'll be making more 2" paw patches - those seem to be rather popular. Yay!

At RMFC
Posted 13 years ago15 person passenger vans? Are huge. We've nicknamed our rental van The Titanic. Unfortunately, due to my husband's shoulder, I was the one that drove all the way from Los Angeles to Denver (going through Albuquerque). We did LA to Santa Fe on day 1, and SF to Denver the following day. We did not arrive in time to finish our business licensing process on Thursday, so we had to go nice and early this morning to get the essential permits to vend. The hotel is 6.2 miles from the state department of revenue office, as the GPS beeps.
The first day was pretty good - doors opened at noon, and we had a lot of interest in the patches, aluminum wallets, and various tchotchkes. Wulf engraved a couple of custom pet tags (we just had the blanks delivered this past Saturday!). All in all, it's going well. I just hope it does better tomorrow and Sunday.
Oh, and it's been decided that when we pack up, we're bringing The Titanic to the side door, so we don't have to lug the laser engraver all the way back up to the room Sunday night, to lug back down on Monday, when we leave. No. Just... no.
