Cookbook Help!
Posted a year agoHey friends, as some may know I am working on a Cookbook for Furs in cooperation with Foxes in Love and Fenris Publishing.
The cookbook will feature 30 shareable recipes perfect for the next furry get-together. There'll be recipes for the carnivore and the herbivore, as well as sweet dishes.
However, i'm having economic trouble to get all the ingredients for the recipes. So I made a fundraiser. If you donate 20USD or more, you'll recieve a ticket for a raffle in which i'll find a winner to recieve a free, signed copy of the cookbook as thanks.

Things are still going well between me and my fiance, and I recently scored a job at a cafe as a cook which I am enjoying thoroughly. Guess I made a comeback somehow!

Moving Abroad postponed
Posted 6 years agoSo, quite a lot of things have happened the past few months.
First and foremost I landed a temporary job as a buffet head chef and it went well in the start until the boss decided to make fun of my weight and for being gay. It was constant remarks of my weight and at one point he tried to push a drill up my behind, to which I replied with gathering my shit and storming off.
Managed to land a waiter's job thereafter at a small cafe where other waiters were blonde bimbos in their late teens. And despite me being openly gay, they went to the owner and claimed I had sexually harrassed them which got me fired as the owner decided to believe in their lies.
This have now left in in an economic crisis and a pretty deep depression I am trying my best to crawl out of, I postponed my travel guide school until March to give me more time to find a job so I can save up the necessary pocket money to survive down there. Also going to attempt the whole gym-thing and dieting again. But as of right now, I am desperately looking for a job as well to help with my financial situation.
Oh, and just as little annoyances on the way, my laptop is dying and my TV died completely, and I am of course unable to replace those.

Moving Abroad
Posted 6 years agoSo, I've been accepted to go to a travel guide school in Spain, and i'll be moving there for five weeks in September. I am SO looking forward to it :D
Career Change
Posted 6 years agoSo i've decided to look into other careers than cooking. I'm looking into becoming a travel guide. I love travelling, I love history and other cultures. And getting to go abroad, share my love for that and experience new foods is what caused this change. I've just come to the self-realisation that working in the kitchen isn't for me, i admit i'm struggling a bit with keeping up the pace in a kitchen :P. I still love cooking, just going to keep it as a hobby :P

dee4doa is doing custom mods and making your fursona (Only felines, roos, scalies, dragons and bears so far) into a playable Tekken 1 and Tekken 2 character that you can use in a chipped PS1, chipped PS2 or any playstation emulator.
He's currently working on making Stripe into Tekken 2!

First thing first, I've been picked to audition for Masterchef Denmark in a week and a half. Got an OK from my school to attend it.
Second, might've landed a job over the summer as a chef at a resort here in Denmark.

Fun school assignment
Posted 9 years agoSchool assignment: Come up with a four course menu for a wedding, and make a menu for each of the year's seasons. Here's my results..
Wintermenu:
Appetizer:
Seared lime and soy marinated tuna on a bed of a spiced beetroot slaw.
Dish between Appetizer and Main:
Creamy sunchoke soup with a hint of ginger and a sprinkle of crispy bacon
Main Course:
Grilled filet of venison seasoned with saffron and cilantro. Served with parsnip pure, butterpoached brusselsprouts and demi glace.
Dessert: Wintercheesecake. Crust is made off of gingerbread, the cream cheese mixture has almond and vanilla added to it. And there’s a cherry jelly coating the top.
Springmenu
Appetizer:
Guinness-marinated carpaccio on a bed on baby spinach, grated irish cheddar and pickled red onion rings.
Dish between appetizer and main:
Scallops poached in irish applecider on potato and carrot hash browns
Main course:
Whiskey-braised porkcheeks with steamed white asparagus, baked tomato and mashed potatoes. Served with a whiskey jus
Dessert:
Rhubarb ice cream in a waffle-bowl with whipped cream, with Baileys added to it. And toasted, chocolate coated hazelnuts.
Summermenu
Appetizer:
Bruschetta with parma ham, strawberries, fresh basil leaves and feta cheese. Comes with a drizzle of balsamic claze, freshly ground blackpepper and toasted pinenuts
Dish between Appetizer and Main:
Sake and wasabi marinated chicken skewer on a grilled slice of watermelon that’s got a mint and ginger glace.

Regarding MFF
Posted 9 years agoI have taken a very adult decision. I will NOT be going to MFF after all. It will happen during the last part of my first semester in culinary school and i'd rather concentrate on creating a future rather than have fun for half a week.

Life Update (A very positive one!)
Posted 9 years agoAbout a month ago, I decided to write down a list of places I could think of having an internship at. I called each and every place of them and there was this restaurant who immediately praised me for doing this and wanted me in on a talk that following Monday.
Five minutes in, I got the internship there by the owner, Dennis. I work for 6 hours on every Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday.
I started last Tuesday (5th of April) and it went really well on my first day. I learnt the prep procedures and was taught how to make whatever orders we got in during lunch service. I also got to learn to know my co-worker, named Anders. I managed to go through the full 6 hours. The same evening I felt like shit because I could not believe that positive things like this happen to me.
Sadly, those feelings were creeping in over my time there on Wednesday and I was close to calling quits because I believed I couldn't do it. I still went and I fought for more than 4 hours before I felt I couldn't do anymore that day. I come home and get busy with cooking and cuddling my boyfriend, forgetting about it.
I wake up the next day, feeling great and go in again, having the greatest day so far there. We got to experiment a lot for a vegetarian special they were trying to come up with and suddenly we had a competition on who made the best poached egg. I got visited by my boyfriend and my co-worker gets surprised as he hadn't expected me to be gay. Anyway, I ended that day on a high note.
Fast forward to yesterday which will be my fourth day there. I had another shitty day, but I still showed up and I fought hard and Anders started to question me regarding my mental issues so that he could better understand me and he told me he'd take me "Under his wing" as he said he saw great potential in me within the restaurant business. And so he decided that we'd have a meeting today (13th of April). He also told me how much respect he got for me for daring to introduce my boyfriend to him the week before when I had just started there and he told me it requires some balls to be so open about homosexuality as I was that day. (I am Bi as you guys know but meh you know what I mean :P)
Anyway, so today. 13th of April. This day went very well too, we had a talk on how to get the best out of me and for me not to give up so easily. I.E so that we can get great progress out of me, because he sees great potential in me, we just need my mental demons under control. So we came up with a plan for that. Before me and my boyfriend leave to go home he hands me his share of the tip-money the restaurant got from costumers. I think I asked him "Are you sure?" at least 20 times before I realized he actually wanted me to have them. He said that he wanted to get something nice to myself for fighting as hard as I do, and that it's a little gift for doing my very best.
So yeah, after having spent my past 6 years or so in "hibernation" of hiding under my blanket with my anxiety and other issues I finally feel my life is heading in the right direction and I am fighting really hard for it..

Posted 10 years agoThese past two years MFF has been that thing that's helped me progress and go so much further and I just really want to go back there next year because it helps me so much. And well, if I know that I will have MFF to look forward to, that will just make me strive to outperform myself from the year before and have something awesome to look forward to. It's just sort of become such an important highlight for me for some reason. I am right now just feeling like shit because I know that I most likely won't make it next year.
But yeah, MFF2015 is officially the best con i've ever attended. I've done so many firsts there and I was barely even hiding away in my room as i've done at previous cons. I held my first panel, I sat in the artist's alley and I spent more than an hour on stage at Whose Lion is it anyway, I went to my first roomparty (BC4C) and i've made so many new friends. PCD has struck me like a lightning bolt and MFF turned out to be the big bang I intended it to be as it'll be my last con for a while! Thanks to all of you (You know who you are) for making this what it became.

Posted 10 years agoTodays good deed. I went to the store and outside was a homeless man selling a magazine to benefit homeless people in Denmark. Since they can't obviously accept credit cards and I felt bad for him I bought him two small cans of beer and a bag of peanuts. I told him that I myself don't have all too much money to spend seeing as I'm unemployed, so I presented him with the gifts, saying that despite all that it shouldn't be a reason for him not to have a good weekend. And suddenly he threw himself in my arms for a hug with tearfilled eyes and thanked me. It always fills me with joy when I can make other's day better.
Life updates!
Posted 10 years agoSo, I noticed my last journal here was 5 months ago. Decided I should make a little update of my life.
- Masterchef, again. They won't get rid of me that easily. If you have a dream, go for it as they say.
- Culinary school. In January next year, i'll be attending a culinary school here in Denmark as I am now going for my goal in life, to be a chef. Dream is to open a restaurant focusing on fusion cusine with the main attraction is cuisines of the world blended in with Swedish cuisine.
- Cookbook for furries? You heard it. Since March i've been working on a cookbook which is going to be furry themed. It covers Burgers, Pizzas, Salads, Soups, Desserts, Side Dishes, Fingerfoods, Vegetarian Dishes and Pastadishes. Will be looking into getting artwork for it soon.
- I personally feel that I am on a very good way to kicking my mental demons down and suppressing them severely. It feels to me like I have managed to grab a hold of my social anxiety's neck and strangled it really hard. For my PTSD though, still got some ways to go there. Having troubles falling asleep some nights following night terrors from the night before that tend to haunt me throughout the day when I have them.
- Must admit that I feel incredibly sad for one thing. Old friends from long ago. At past Eurofurences and during my time in the U.K, I've made really good friends with several folks but the past year or two it feels like i've distanced myself from them due to the mental demons of mine, been trying to poke a fair few for a chat. I hope if any of you read this, please do not fret to poke me. I really want to take up the contact again.
And I think that sums everything up since then. Thank you so much for reading. I love you guys.
