JustFromTheWeekend!
Posted 9 years agoWell, against all my expectations and previous runs at furcons, I come home with Post-Con Depression trying to emerge from my suitcase but I shall not let it pass! Going to JustFurTheWeekend was something that I had originally decided against doing because it clashed with a Yu-Gi-Oh tournament that I wanted to enter, but it was a good thing that I did decide to go because the fun and mayhem that I had was amazing! Meeting soooo many people that I've known from Twitter and Telegram, making new friends along the way, even being somewhat of a party goer despite it being out of my comfort zone!
Was it Just Fur The Weekend? Sadly so, but it'll be a furcon that I'm proud that I was there for since the beginning!
Lets roll on to the next adventure: London MCM, and maybe a reprisal of the ConFuzzled one-day madness!

2016, the changes ahead!
Posted 10 years agoBefore I roll into 2016, let me mention that I got myself a job before Christmas! While it's not the retail job I was expecting to do, it does involve cycling and I'm extremely with that! Now I can have a steady flow of cash to buy the things I want, not a fursuit though :P Yu-Gi-Oh things :3
As for 2016? Many things are looking to change and improve but first, I better keep this job! :D
It's also easier to grab me on Telegram; Sparky15756

Maybe I'm bored with the fandom, I don't know?
Posted 10 years agoDuring this year (2015, if you're reading this in another yet), I've become more and more distant from the fandom and the local communities that I used to be apart of: banned from the Liverpool meets for what, I believe are minor things and public opinions on personal accounts; rarely at the Manchester meets; didn't even bother with ConFuzzled (except for my planned day-trip) or any of the furmeets at London MCM. But what am I doing with my life on the Saturday's when the meets are on? The same thing I've been doing every Saturday for the past few years: Yu-Gi-Oh! It's been one of my biggest, and more enjoyable hobbies, and I'd be more happier going to a local Yu-Gi-Oh meetup than sitting around at a furmeet, potentially doing fuck all for the majority of the day (partially my fault, not pushing myself to get involved and being shy too, weird I know).
Now you may be wondering why I got banned from my local meets, and why I believe they were minor reasons; I'll divulge:
1. I was accused of theft at the July 2014 meet, of a poultry £5 (pool cue deposit). Bearing in mind that I was unaware of the accusation for several weeks, accused me someone who eventually got banned from the Liverpool and Manchester meets (from what I've heard) for trying to get other people banned through lying, and despite the £5 being given back to the person, he didn't bother telling the (at the time) meet staff that it had been resolved.
During the time when me and a friend use using the pool cues, we went around asking if the deposit belonged to anyone: nobody owned up and non-meet attendee's wanted to use them, so I cashed the cue's in and went away, which is what could of happened with the non-meet attendee's. Looking back at it, there's no proof that it was his money and I didn't have to give it back to him but I did so because I believed he was the owner of the deposit.
2. APPARENTLY, I make people feel uncomfortable at the meets and online; how is this a legitimate reason to ban someone from the Skype/Facebook groups and the meets? I don't know how I made people, if anyone at all, feel uncomfortable and when I asked who I made feel uncomfortable OR why they were uncomfortable; no answer was given, because it would of been a breach of their privacy.
How am I meant to be aware of what I'm doing to someone when I can't get any information about HOW I'm making people feel uncomfortable? I wouldn't care if I didn't get any names, as long as I know how then I can try explain it and resolve it.
3. Insulting someone on my PERSONAL Twitter account, this one is probably a big reason but not big enough to ban someone forever (and or a year) even with the other two reasons added into the equation.
I won't deny that I called someone "retarded" and "a faggot", but I stand by my reasons for the OPINION; calling yourself "Pride the gay white tiger" is essentially pushing the homosexual agenda into the faces of people who already fight for #FreeLove (this was in February, for any reference). In my opinion, putting a sexuality as part of your fursona's name is showing a lack of creativity PLUS the name itself; the fandom is based off creativity, it's how we express ourselves, and the lack of creativity from the initial choosing of the name goes against (what I believe) the fandom is about. Yes, calling the person a retard and a faggot is wrong, but it's on my personal Twitter account and shouldn't be used against me when people are easily offended - it's not like I was telling people to go kill themselves or advocating suicide, or doing anything Gryphon related :P
Looking at it as a whole, people like Luke Smith (LondonFurs) is still able to go to the meets (I believe) despite him being dislike by many for reasons far worse than the one's used to ban me from the Liverpool meets, but hey it's not my problem is half of the current ScouseFurs staff dislike me, or at least I feel they dislike me.
Ah well, that's finally off my chest and out into the open, still got a few other things to bombshell but I'll get to those when I can be bothered.
Anyway, back to the main topic at hand; I'm still gonna be active in the fandom regardless of what limitations are imposed on me on a local level, whether I'll be at ConFuzzled next year is a different thing but I will be hoping to have FurTheWeekend paid off! I'm looking to keep my meet hiatus going until 2016 at the earliest but knowing me, I'll probably go to a furmeet before the end of the year; where it will be, only I know!
Anywho, now's a good time to sign off

The MCM Report, featuring ConFuzzled 2015!
Posted 10 years agoYou know that time where I said that I wouldn't be going to ConFuzzled, telling everyone that I wouldn't be there because I was going to London MCM? That was a lie, a lie to ensure that my surprise, and planned, visit on the Monday would go without a hitch but it nearly went wrong... Before any of that though, I'm going to dive straight into the London MCM report!
Instead of attending London MCM as planned, I decided to volunteer for Yu-Gi-Oh work and gave my ticket to someone who wanted one but couldn't afford it - it was a good decision, as the ticket was going to be wasted. Arriving in London on the Thursday with my trusty bicycle, I dashed around London and managed to end up in the borough of Chelsea just outside of Stamford Bridge, before eventually getting to the hotel which was a yacht that was parked just outside of the ExCeL centre in the dock :D
Working all three days - Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, meant that I had very little time for myself during the day but I did manage to get a few pictures with other furries and hang out with them when I could! My voice was hoarse by the end of the weekend though, talking all day lead to that, and not even Beechem's worked as expected :c But I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would love to do it again.
This leads onto ConFuzzled, but before that I'll tell you about the story of how I managed to get myself to Croydon with some hints of madness: I didn't know how to use the London train system, as I usually just cycle places, but getting off at one place led me to drop off a few things to a few in the nearby area and then having to dash to another train station to catch a train to Croydon, where I was staying for the night - leaving in the morning for ConFuzzled.
Trying to get to ConFuzzled was hard enough: Diversions around London due to the London 10k marathon, nearly being ran over by a black woman trying to reverse her car despite stopping without warning, being on the wrong train, and missing my next planned train due to not having a bicycle reservation ticket due to a hiccup at London Euston.
I eventually arrived at ConFuzzled, exhausted from the madness that I had done; got myself lost trying to get there from the train station and then cycled around the front entrance just to announce my arrival but not before sending out a message on Twitter saying that I was en-route, using the #SurpriseMotherfucker hashtag :D
Didn't register or anything but the five hours that I spent there was amazing and flew by; sharing Jaffa Cakes with a few people at Con-Ops, helping someone remember something that they had forgotten moments previously, and hanging out with friends of whom I've not seen since last year or at previously attended meets, even rekindling an old friendship with someone who I had an argument with on Twitter a few years ago xD
On the way home: I couldn't help but wonder why black people were stereotypically seen as "dumbfucks" by white people, then watching two black people force open an automatic door of a broken/out of service toilet, despite a big, red, flashy text next to it saying "out of order" and the buttons not working...
I'm sorry, not sorry, but if you're going to be dumbfuck and not bother to read any signs then you're only reinforcing the racial stereotype that white people give you :\
I'm not being racist to another here but if you're proving a stereotype then you've only yourself to blame for being a dumbfuck, just like how "white trash" are also dumbfucks in their own right.
All-in-all: It was an amazing weekend, two conventions in the space of a few days, against the odds and I'd love to do it all again next year :D Yu-Gi-Oh has become my main hobby, meaning that furries are just a side-thing for me now due to a few petty things that have happened on a local level but that's for another journal >.>

2015, already a madness!
Posted 11 years agoSomewhere between the last drops of craziness for 2014 and a heavy dosage of floundering in 2015, I'm still alive o.o
I managed to get myself to Scotland for New Years week, not before a detour to pick up a head scarf and getting cramp so bad that I missed my train (such joy, and I was cycling - like that's any surprise) but I managed to get the next train and relax knowing that I had achieved my crazy, and unintentional, goal of cycling 3,500 miles for the year - ending up doing 3,542 before the year ended (I don't know how).
Met new faces while in Glasgow, during Hogmanay/New Years eve, and made new friends while stopping over in Edinburgh beforehand.
So this year, craziness has already started and I've not even escaped January! Got myself a new television and PlayStation 3, using the money I had put aside for a planned EuroFurence trip and had plenty left over for a rainy day - and didn't that rainy day come when my bicycle got stolen again, for the third time in under a year, even whilst locked up too! I guess having that money set aside, nearly £300 was a good thing.
I also created a whole pile of butthurt when I got a DDoSer banned from Furry4Life, now he's Doxing me and I'm not giving a piloted fuck :D
Now that I'm back to worrying about money, I guess I've been brought back down to earth with a bump :v But no bother, I've got epic plans for the future! Allonsy :3

Liverpool FurMeet
Posted 11 years agoYesterday was the Liverpool FurMeet, the last furmeet in Liverpool for the year and the last meet before the planned inaugural Liverpool furcon - FurVention. I don't know what happened during the meet, as I was elsewhere in the city centre doing other things, but I did manage to turn up at the end of the day when people were winding down after a great day.
For the few hours I spent there, I really enjoyed myself and it's gotten me in the mood for the Manchester meet next week though I'm hoping the weather isn't going to be stop me and my attempt of cycling the 31.4 mile distance to the meet place >.>

I think I've over-extended myself....
Posted 11 years agoTime to bring myself down to earth and be honest with myself; I've over-exerted myself in the fandom, tried to reach out to as many different outlets and people as I could, and I've now realized that I've lost nearly a lot of chances to do things on a local basis, alienated myself from many people and tried to deny that it wasn't my fault.
Truth be told, I wish I didn't try to push myself into different sections/groups/circles of the fandom but instead kept with the local people I know/knew, done things to make myself feel good about myself and kept in touch with people instead of being distant. Sometimes I don't know what to say, I dislike starting a conversation because I don't know what to say outside of the usual hello/how are you/what you doing - the sort of thing that urks me with people, always saying those three things and never anything else.
It's gotten to the point where I've stopped myself from getting to know people, regretted returning to/joining forums when I know I'll eventually leave without reason, and even stopped going to the local meets because I feel disconnected with most of the attendees.
I've become engrossed in my Yu-Gi-Oh! mail-trading group on Facebook, so engrossed that it's basically my life, it's taken away my time from Twitter and mail-trading has become an addiction that is slowly getting out of control, wanting to become one of the biggest traders in the world when I should be happy that I'm leading one of the biggest mail-trading groups in the world (for UK players, with a scattering of European players).
A good friend mentioned that I had depression, as I was in a rut with life and didn't want to change anything because I was happy in the rut, and since then I've been trying to get myself out of that rut and come the end of the year, while I'm in Glasgow, I'll try to become a new person - using the time between now and then to plan out what I need to do and change.
I know I'm going to be mass-removing people from my Skype contact list, moving to a new Facebook account, and try to keep in contact with those who I want to, keeping Twitter open for everyone to message me (and other places), even trying to draw a line under any misdemeanors I've done in the past and start afresh.
I'm getting to an age in life where I shouldn't be living like a disgruntled teenager, I should be living like a responsible adult, and it's time that I realize this and make a change before I hit the age of 25 next year. I won't be dropping the whole "Sparky15756" shell though, just amending it for the better, as "Sparky" is who I am/want to be - I don't want to be the guy I was around a decade ago and a few years ago.
My sleep schedule is horrible, it's basically sleep at 3am/4am and wake-up anywhere between 12pm and 2pm.
I guess I've finally got this off my chest, needed somewhere to vent all of this to.

Other than that, I might as well start somewhere and that somewhere will be the madness that was cycling there! 115 miles, that's a challenge to anyone who cycles! I managed to get 98 miles done before having a major attack of cramp, though I felt twinges at random points before that but managed to keep going, but going that far is a major achievement for me; 101 miles was the unscheduled stopping point, crashing into an unsighted kerb, falling off my bicycle, and getting a puncture (cracked front reflect light and cracked bell-ringer too). Deciding to walk as far as I could, to the safety of whatever 24hr McDonald's I could find, ending up sleeping/napping in a bus shelter because it started to rain. Managed to get my bicycle fixed and then it was another few miles of cycling towards the hotel, my legs couldn't handle it but I kept going and once I knew that I was in the area of the hotel I knew I was finished.
As for the convention; It was amazing, met so many people, old and new, and my only wish was that the Job Centre called me to tell me that they moved my appointment with them instead of making me come home a day early >.> Ah well, gonna make sure that's sorted out for next year.
I finally met Uncle Kage and got a hug from him, which made me feel epic, and many fursuiters that I wanted to meet from Twitter :D
Managed to get plenty of fursuit photo's with my phone camera, though I'll have to go through them all and delete the blurry one's.
Since I had to leave a day early for bullshit reasons, I decided to cycle to the main station instead of being lazy and getting a train there. En-route I nearly crashed into someone who decided to pull out onto the roundabout, instead of giving way, and I flipped all my rage onto them while cycling away. I wanted to cause a scene in the middle of the road but I knew it was pointless - I think a few drivers heard me shout "WHAAAAT THEEE FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK" at the driver. I don't normally road-rage, or rage in general, but fuck...
Managed to get to the station and got my train home, then cycled a few more miles from the station to my house and passed out on my bed for several hours.
I'd like to thank everyone at ConFuzzled - the hotel staff, convention staff, fursuiters, non-suiters, etc etc - for a wonderful time and I think I'll be back next year for more madness including an attempt to raise money for the charity of choice by doing another cycle trip there!

The Madness Thats Is...JESUS ON A BICYCLE! (ConFuzzled 2014)
Posted 11 years agoSo...I decided to cycle/pedal my way to ConFuzzled 2014 - which is around 115 miles - and I done it! Well, I done 101 miles before having a crash and tyre blow-out, slept in a bus shelter to avoid the rain and walked several miles to get my bicycle fixed, before arriving with the greatest sense of achievement.
If you're at ConFuzzled: it's best to message me on Twitter to find/meet me :3

The search for Code Overland...
Posted 11 years agoI remembered someone from my past, back from 2009, and I can't find anything about him recently :\ The only details I've got is his Second Life name (inactive for several years) and his Skype address. I'm not expecting anything, but if I could get any details about him, or even find him again, then I'd be eternity grateful.
I know he lives in Stirling (Scotland) and his real name is Michael; he's around my age (23-24) and loves his computers.
I guess this is an empty challenge, nearly five years since I last seen him, but I wish that I could contact him again... He was the Scottish version of me, literally, and that was awesome - I still remember the day I seen him and he couldn't believe how similar we were...
I had a crush on him, but at the age of 19 I wasn't really aware of doing relationships or anything... Would of been better than the two relationships I started with a year later >.>
It's weird trying to dig into my own past, trying to excavate something that I don't know anymore...

Posted 11 years agoSeveral points to those who can guess the character who said that, in a video game :D
But yeah, I think I'm ready to try more cycling now :D I finally broke the two hour mark for cycling 32 miles, home to Tribeca (Manchester Furmeet location), by doing the distance in 1 hour 50 minutes :D Nearly 20 minutes faster than my previous best, and this was at like 7-8am in the morning. :D

Busy weekend >.<
Posted 11 years agoSaturday: Wake up at 5:30am GMT; leave the house at 6:30am GMT; cycle 32 miles for a Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament, because fuck public transport; Get home at an unknown time, maybe 10pm?
Sunday: Wake up at 5:45am GMT for Formula One; Cycle around 10 miles for a football match that I'll probably be an unused substitute for; Watch Manchester United v Liverpool somewhere....
Can't complain, 42 miles of cycling, at least, and a really busy weekend to boot :D

Posted 11 years agoReally can't be bothered checking new submissions and whatnot, always on Twitter to really care unless I get a new message or something.
I guess you can say that things are looking up and sideways, which is awesome, and with the potential of everything good to go right for me, I'm not gonna let anything stop me :D

2013, the year that was awesome!
Posted 12 years ago2013, a year that made me enjoy life and opened the doors to the world of relationships and love! Also travelling, making money and meeting new people along the way! I guess the main enjoyment of the year was the wonderful relationship I had with
TerraFoxx for nine months, during that time I enjoyed life to the full and loved spending time with him, learning new things and trying different things. Though we did break up, it was mutually accepted and there was no malice between us, and whilst I know it'll hurt me knowing that he could be with anyone but me, I'm really happy that I got to know him and will still be a close confidant :3 Life sucks like that, but if you can keep your loved one's close then you'll never be alone!
I attended three conventions this year, technically two since I attended the same one twice but at two different points in the year. One of these was ConFuzzled, the first furry convention I attended in full and the first furry convention since my 2012 day-trip to ConFuzzled, the other was London MCM/Anime Expo but I was only there for Yu-Gi-Oh! and in the October MCM I entered my first ever major Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament. Whilst I wasn't planning on winning, I won 2 rounds and lost 5, I, however, managed to kickstart my personal #SparksForGame shout (Sparks is the weakest burn card in Yu-Gi-Oh!, it does 200 direct damage and that's the equivalent of lossing 1/4 life-point in Magic the Gathering).
My travels, which included conventions, was filled with various trips to Manchester for Yu-Gi-Oh! and furmeets
MancFurs, trips to the London/Bexleyheath area, half-ass scheduled tour of Scotland (Glasgow, Edinburgh, Glenrothes) and my return to Coventry for the first time in two years (which ended up being an accidental trip to Milton Keynes, before arriving in Rugby for a night with furries).
Cycling, however, was my biggest success with cycling around 2,600 miles in the calendar year, over 1,500 of those miles being on my new bicycle I got at the end of May, and even achieving my personal top speed of 41.7mph (67.11KPH) and cycling the distance for Manchester meets (32 miles) in just over two hours (2:06.30). Considering my first attempt took nearly four hours, I've managed to cut that time down and get myself into a decent shape.
I don't know what 2014 will have in store for me, already got ConFuzzled 2014 booked and my second-coming to Scotland with a properly-planned trip from Aberdeen to Glasgow, stopping in Glenrothes and Edinburgh, plus a week of cycling hell with Preston for a semi-major Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament. Also plans for Brighton and London in February (potentially) and even Cardiff for March/April. My long hair is also on the line to be shaved off if Liverpool F.C. win the Premier League (Football).
I doubt my year was interesting, compared to (other) popufurs, but I'll have my fun! :P

2013 Giftart Bomb, now with separate attacks!
Posted 12 years agoI'm probably gonna be hated on for the title but who cares? :P
So this year, to continue an end-of-year tradition, I've chosen
LozBunneh to be the artist for the annual gift art giveaway (I need a better name for it), just like
Aetherfax (2011) and
JupiterFox (2012) were the artists the previous years.
After much debating on who'd get giftart, I had chosen eight people (originally ten but one couldn't be drawn and the other had real life problems to contend with, at the the time), but for the sake of surprises I won't reveal who's getting gift art (except those who've already received theirs).
£112 in total, money that could of helped my ConFuzzled fund, and I believe it's been worth it :3 I'd, hopefully, be doing the same thing again next year but it's uncertain, as of yet, to who'll get giftart, and giftart is usually given out to those who've made my travels/year amazing or for being good friends/people in general :3
I just spend more money on my fursona though :P

<Insert an interesting title here>
Posted 12 years agoI could probably use this for a weekly blog section or something, or maybe Tumblr - or both? I don't know, it'd be good to talk about my life without the limit of 140 characters. How long will it last though, that's the question? :P
But nevermind this, enjoy this!
One weekend of fun and it didn't even involve MidWest FurFest! Yu-Gi-Oh!, Doctor Who, the Merseyside Derby, Formula One, DOCTOR WHO and even more Yu-Gi-Oh! for this weekend - such an amazing weekend, and I've got the
MancFurs meet this coming weekend too! One could probably say that my life is finally getting back on track after my break-up, and being able to have a final bit of closure from it, with Doctor Who, meant that I'm finally able to move on and enjoy life again :3 The only pain in my heart now is the intense heat from Chilli Pete's Dragon Blood Hot Sauce, oh god that's hot :D
Got plenty of travelling planned for the next few months, one travel plan a month though, and the third annual gift-art bomb is nearly completed at a cost of £112 (money I made from selling Yu-Gi-Oh! cards) - It'll be worth the money, but nobody will know, other than the artist, who's getting one until it's all finished!
And then there is life, I've got that all to come too! The future awaits me; ConFuzzled, travelling, Yu-Gi-Oh! (with travelling), maybe even a partial fursuit?! A complete run-through of my ENTIRE music library (around 40,000 songs) and much more to come! 2014, you're gonna be another great year - Christmas to come though :D
