Cant say any of the last couple years were all that great. But 2021 wasnt terribly hell.

Actually... new job. I love it, been there four months now and I still love it. I havent gotten out of bed with any dread or resentment. My boss is awesome, my co workers are (mostly) awesome and the hours are great. Best part is that my customer base has become like another family, nicest folk around.

Some smart financial decisions I made in 2020 enabled me to finally fully landscape my yard, reshingled the roof and rebuild the engine in my truck this year, as well as currently in the process of buying another nice Z car come spring.

And apart from this site and a messenger app, I havent touched social media since 2020 rolled around. I cannot tell you enough just how ditching those scumbag, mind-altering social media sites alone has elevated me from advanced weapons grade depression and resentment all the way to a decent mood a vast majority of the time.

Things have been going well, better than I've ever had it. I just thought I'd share that, bit of a change from the previous years of scowling and moaning for once.

Two buggered years, but the bright side is that I finally found a job I enjoy where I dont dread getting up to have my soul sucked out of me from the dementor that was corporate gigs.

Small, family owned now. I ain't gambling on another big stooge, and thanks to the labor shortage this place hired me on the spot and I am getting semi-dankly paid for a trainee, and for the laid back work it entails. Last place was more demanding, more work, more physically involved, now the only labor I have to do is occasionally vaccum and lob a trash bag once in a while.

So, my truck blew up months ago. Cylinder number 4 completely burnt, and I've no Idea why that occurred.

I've been working on rebuilding and replacing literally everything on it .. the whole fuel and ignition system, bunch of electrical, clutch/driveline and the entire engine, which I was stuck having to settle with performance pistons cus I'm a clown that buys the special editions with their own particular set ups that no one offers shibbidy shat for.

That all really sucked, so does the bill so far. But I got on the Dogecoin wagon and saved it from being scrapped and cannibalized for my 300zx

I lost my dad today.

It was something I always saw coming, whether sooner or later, but never felt worried about up until a month ago when he was rushed to the hospital with breathing trouble. He had pneumonia, became progressively weaker and eventually moved to hospice a week ago, when his heart medication that was keeping him alive started shutting down his kidneys.

He passed peacefully in his sleep early in the morning, and that gives me great comfort.

But with the pandemic, lockdowns and restrictions on hospitals, I never got to see him or say goodbye the way I wanted to, I think that breaks my heart the most.
