I think I can describe everything in my life in just one word.
And that word is frustrating.

By all means my life should be perfect, I have a stable income, stable household, I live in a nice enough area and have most the things I want. People apparently love me, I'm apparently fun and open and interesting but...

Here I am, Sunday night, struggling to sleep and holding off tears because I am battling incredible loneliness. Despite how much I'm apparently loved I have very little in the way of long term friendships. I can scroll through chat history and see a sea of unread or not responded messages.

And if I stop hitting people up... I just know for a fact I'll be forgotten...

Man i love the idea of a blacklist, if only for the sake of removing hard kinks from frontpage. But were already devolving into tag wars. Already seen some people with some very harsh opinios about requirements for posting, as well as FA is supposedly going to REQUIRE at least three tags per upload in the future. I just wanna share my shit without a whole bunch of barriers to do so -> this is exactly why people use twitter/x/bluesky. The uploading interface here is already clunky as shit with a million drop-downs. Im just gonna tag everything with "Anthro Furry Art" as the required 3 tags anyway, unless its kinky shit it really doesnt matter.

I've just had to diagnose a family members laptop which they could no longer log into, their Username and password had been changed without their knowing.

What I believe happened is that, originally I had set up their laptop with a local user account (yes this is possible, but microsoft make it really hard) , and they recently signed into a Microsoft app, which then converted their local account into the Microsoft one. Which in turn changed their local Username and password to match their Microsoft account. Probably without even consent but just as likely they pressed agree to something they didn't understand.

I was unable to undo the damage and restore it to the previous state but it was not easy.

This is important because so many people are losing their accounts. Even if you dont think youll fall for them, its a good watch because some of the stuff is just stupid on discords part and good to know.

TLDR:
Dont respond to bots
Dont give bots any permissions
Dont click on links
Dont scan QR codes
Dont send anyone money
Ignore people who are saying they reported you / Youre going to be banned
Dont test games for friends (or run any other random .exe)

If you're still on Windows 10 and hesitant to upgrade to Windows 11, be cautious. Despite the long-standing policy of not forcing updates to 11, my computer mysteriously initiated the upgrade process twice without any input from me. This means that Windows 11 has been downloaded and will install upon the next restart, with no option to cancel.

I found a workaround to halt the update both times, but it was cumbersome and not ideal. I resorted to the 'disable TPM' method in hopes of preventing future attempts. Initially, I believed dismissing the upgrade notifications would suffice, but it seems more drastic measures are necessary.

While I don't have a strong aversion to Windows 11 and may consider installing it in the future, the process will be meticulous and time-consuming for me. It will likely involve a fresh installation and extensive customization to ensure everything feels right. For now, my routine consists of eating, sleeping, indulging in furry porn, and repeating. I lack the motivation for much else at the moment.

Ive seen way too many people getting caught out and losing their discord accounts recently.

Discord has a LOT of embedded content and permissions into the client itself, be very careful what you accept or what servers you join. Heck even what links you click, links have been spoofed in the past to re-direct to join servers or change account details etc etc.

While a lot of these exploits are patched fast, it doesnt mean you'll be immune.

That said, as far as im aware the most successful hacks are usually just social engineering. Your friend will lose their account, then the person who stole their account will send links or files to everyone else on your friends friends list and it goes on from there.

If someone asks you to try out a game they just made, be VERY careful. Check their other socials, make sure they are actually developing a game. If someone asks you to check out a link, READ IT CAREFULLY, if you dont recognise it, google the domain, if its a shortened link, use a website to un-shorten it. Even embedded content can be compromised, do not click embedded content! (click to view images or gifs, for example)

The final thing is to be aware of is server permissions / bot permissions, as part of discords service bots are allowed to check and do things with your accounts, NEVER give a bot permissions unless absolutely required, and make sure its legit before you do anything. If a server absolutely insists on having some kinda join bot to move you from one server to another, explain to them how bad it is to give a bot server join permissions!

A lot of this is basic internet hygeine, but made worse because discord embeds so many tools into it. Links and images can be spoofed to do account actions when you click on them, and bots can automatically do stuff to your account.

Boosty has over night removed the option to pay via Paypal, and boosty has never accepted my card. I have checked with another Australian friend and their card is also rejected by boosty.

Is it just Australian cards which are not accepted by boosty? Is anyone else having these issues?

So... i know it is well common practice to use these... "mirrors" by now...
But am i not the only person who was taught to be super suspicious and careful with everything on the internet?

Im talking of things like vx.twitter and fxraffinity for example.

Why is it now that, after 20 years of being told to be super careful about what the url says and domains that its suddenly acceptable to just blindly accept URL modifications?
I fully understand that these projects have fully transparent Github projects and the like, but i feel like its just bad practice to start accepting URL modifications as the norm.

All it takes is one bad apple to make an embed mirror similar to what we have now, people blindly click it because embed mirrors have become the norm but the site just redirects to a recreation of Furafflnity with a login prompt. Bam, hundreds possibly thousands of people get pwned before the news spreads.
Alternatively, the owners of the well known domains either get compromised, get bored of their project or it was all a bait and switch from the beginning, make a subtle change to how their domain works and accounts are lost again.

All this risk, so you dont have to copy/paste the image and link yourself? heck dragging an image into discord or telegram then dragging the url into the message as well is probably not that much slower than copying the url then adding vx / fx. (maybe quicker on mobile, lmao)

Anyway, just my two cents... Stay safe out there peeps, maybe if you do use these vx/fx mirror sites to make embeds work just... be safe about it, make sure if you do click on the link, that you land at the correct domain before you take any actions!
