Warning: It's too early to take things personally!
Posted 12 years agoLike.... I mean no offense but I can only give my full attention to so many things at once! Better this than still being gone.... just be patient with me and hopefully it will all even out!
Or sit in your chair wondering if I hate you because that's a reasonable response!!!

Small update about the Tablet PC I use to draw
Posted 12 years agoIt not only replaced my aging cintiq, it replaced my desktop when it came to drawing period. It's amazing.
The Samsung Ativ Smart PC Pro 700T is everything I ever wanted in a tablet PC. Drawing in Sai is the least of it's capabilities! Hell, because Sai is so well optimized I bet it would run perfectly on the 500T which is a fraction of the price! Not all windows 8 tablets have fully functional wintab/ etc drivers for pressure sensitivity and accuracy but I lucked out in having one that works suggested to me and yeah, it's mindblowing how great it is!
Gonna pick up one of these cases for it pretty soon. How it's not mass produced yet is a damn shame!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-QlsQIz71KU
If you're shopping around for tablets I think this is the best you can get for the half inch thick, 2 lb slate design.
If you want something more heavy duty I suggest the Fujitsu T902, who's top model is, regardless of what razer claims, the most powerful tablet PC you can buy.

Conclusion to the whole nephew/sister/custody/child thing
Posted 12 years agoTook care of him for two years. Was the legal guardian for one. Where my sister would have been homeless and childless she now has a job, car, apartment, and custody of her child back. I'm still playing babysitter-lite until DCF hooks her up with a daycare service but yeah... for all the stress and heartache this whole thing ended up being a success because she finally hit rock bottom and admitted she is not well, her current legal status granting her the help she so desperately needs and she finally grew up to the point to where the government no longer fears the child being in her custody. Not kidding. For a year she wasn't even allowed unsupervised visitation... but now she's all set. So... yay!
Commissions permanently closed!
Posted 12 years agoThis probably doesn't come as a shocker but I haven't had the best time getting things done. Well... I came to the conclusion that it just doesn't work for me, time wise. As patient and forgiving as people I owe work have been I just have to face the fact that I let too many things distract me from getting them done and it's unfair to those who are waiting.
I will say that finishing these are my top priority, and that I have a huge comic project in the works I won't be starting that in earnest until I finish every last bit so that I can draw guilt-free from then on!

Belated Elliots Journal
Posted 12 years agoThe last two-three days where a blur. When I finally got home I must have spent 95% of my time here knocked out until right now catching up on my sleep.
With that said, I had a pretty great time at Elliot's Spring Gathering: Las Vegas. Granted for most days I was drunk half the time... and really drunk the other half... but I still remember enough to know I had a good, mostly not-embarassing time... hah! Had a swell time with friends new and old, had some fantastic Brazilian Grill with meat flowing for days... drank more in one fateful night than I have in the last few years combined, and even got some art done and round a game of Magic which I haven't done for almost a decade! I also got to show some folks the project work I've been keeping a secret and right now I have more confidence than ever in the work that I'm doing, something I want to share you all when the time is right. They did have some other cool events going on... from dances, to private pool parties, to panels from voice actors and even an actor from the Game of Thrones! Pretty awesome stuff all around.
There were a few things that I would have liked to have happened differently... but in the end it was out of everyone's control - we were at the mercy of the hotel's decree. But whatever... I would definitely do it all again!
I didn't talk to very many people ahead of time... much like the last one I appeared by surprise so I didn't know what to expect. When I got there I sent a few feelers out and was directed to a private conference room and much to my surprise I found
caltroplay
scappo
gunmouth
bonk
gnaw
patto
canucklehead and
berryfox! The next day finding
faint and
spearfrost, all of which I spent most of my time with. I did hear rumors of
zen,
zaush,
nimrais, and
kaji among others but yeah... this event was packed with awesome people/ artists, even if my sheepish nature keeps me with the faces I'm most familiar with!
As for a more personal update... there isn't much to say. It was just a very bad situation that was physically, emotionally, and financially draining. The whole nephew/ custody thing just kept getting worse and worse the more the courts and alas my own sister tried their best [and in some ways succeeded] to screw me over and the responsibilities of caring for the sickly nephew and equally needy mother just dominated my daily life until recently when the government finally acknowledged their permanent role in the situation, getting my sister her own apartment once and for all and the daily care they both were in dire need of, my role in this drama finally winding down.
So yeah... sorry for being gone but I had a lot in my plate though now my role in this mess is winding down once and for all so you will be seeing more and more of me. I may even be launching a website soon... who knows! I already have the host and domain name picked out and paid for in advance. I've also done a ton of art on the side, including furry art that has yet to be seen thanks to the mobility of my super awesome UMPC/Tablet, as well as several updates worth of content for my own webcomic (just not enough content done in advance for me to launch yet). Now that I'm getting more and more time back I'm finally getting back into the swing of things which includes but is not limited to getting back to commission work! With that said I won't be opening anything, I'll just be finishing what I owe and then focus on other things from there. We'll see!

The joys of Tablet PCs [troubleshooting]
Posted 13 years agoThis is boring. Don't read unless you really want to know some of what you may experience when getting a current gen tablet PC. You have an easier time. You may find it to be a convoluted hell. I'm just here on a whim attempting to bore you to death.
Getting the dual input, 10-point touch slate/ laptop hybrid and windows 8 to work right has taken many.. many hours. This is a bold new drawing environment with very few people to troubleshoot art related issues issues. Unfortunately I am one of the few, and what are simple issues on the PC takes may take me hours on this thing. Solutions may have been easier to come up with had I been a smarter, more tech savvy person... but alas I am simply a user, and this is my plight.
So here is an example. Perhaps the most severe one, but still a very situational one that still had an impact on my experience that needed immediate attention.
This will basically be a butcher job of posts I've made in various forums and notes I made to myself to send to support teams describing issues in hopes of finding a solution. And be warned, descriptions may be redundant at times. I also have a bad habit of using the word "tablet" to refer to mobile slate devices and digitizers interchangeably. Some may find this information helpful, but I'm mostly putting this down to illustrate what I meant when I said this was a learning experience and what it took to get my Samsung 700t working to an acceptable level... because it really is taking a lot of time as I read, troubleshoot, and communicate issues.
:: Calibration - Trial and Error ::
TLDR version. Samsung and Wacom fucked up pretty badly. Their drivers did not work where you needed them to the most. My solution was ignoring every suggestion and driver version Wacom and Samsung had to offer and instead, after realizing the digitizer hardware for wacom penabled tablet PCs are all universal, going to a completely separate company, Fujitsu, and download their custom drivers after reading how it fixed unrelated issues in the past.
- The Situation -
Although working fine for the most part, there was one nagging issue that made itself apparent when I switched to a larger stylus. Although the snub tipped stylus had no issue, a normal stylus needs to be recalibrated to compensate the length of the new tip. This does not use intuos/ cintiq hardware. It's doesn't offer precise z-axis controls so no angle/tilt/rotation/bearing/ etc. Instead you only get x by y meaning you have to calibrate for the angle you hold the stylus or be stuck with the default setting which is optimized for holding it out at a 90 degree angle... which although is "proper form", is not particularly comfortable if you're used to holding the stylus like an actual pen. It also meant that you couldn't keep the tip of the stylus in the same position and angle it however you pleased and retaining the same position. It does in fact go bonkers randomly straying within an inch of the tip in any random direction if you hold it 1-10 degrees away from the tablet. A non issue for sure, but it does illustrate the inferior hardware compared to intuos and higher. A fact that and cannot be avoided as all tablet PCs share the same digitizing hardware.
Still, it was workable, as any graphire or bamboo indeed is without z-axis controls. There is one glaring exception though. Tablet PCs come equipped with bare bone drivers to make use of the stylus and they have their own calibration points, which you can change any time. Although appearing similar, it is not to be confused with the calibration you set within the wacom driver utility as that is a different set entirely... which caused problems as they competed with each other. This caused some programs to malfunction and the solution was to have the windows set override the wacom set and locking the user out of modifying wacom's calibration coordinates. The problem with this was that some programs, although mapped correctly without wacom drivers installed, defaulted to the wacom set once it became installed... a set that was untouchable.
You see, In the past the issue was that there was no way to change it for those usint the tablet pc/ dual input/ ISD drivers. Wacom didn't give you the option. You had to rely on a specific glitch in order to change it yourself. It has since then been "fixed" when Wacom included the ability to calibrate for wacom independently from the windows calibration. They removed the glitch.
The problem is that... well... their way of changing wacom's calibration points doesn't work, the only update being removing the only way we knew how.
At least, in the current version. Their calibration does work in the other version of the driver, but more on that below.
Just check this out though. It's one out of two drivers available on Wacom's site.

2. Calibration:
a. Four point calibration looks like it’s calibrating, but it does not. Sixteen point calibration does work. Resetting this can be done through the Tablet PC Input panel.
This is a huge problem for Sai users, among others who this may effect. In Tablet PCs there are two sets of coordinates mapped to pen input. Microsoft's set and Wacom's set, and you can set them independantly. At least, you used to be able to through an exploit!
example of the environment
If you use the vanilla version you will get pen pressure but you won't have access to any of the wacom utilities like pressure curving, editing your buttons, and the like. You won't be able to properly calibrate wacom's pen coordinate mapping either. To remedy the settings issue though you have to uninstall the ISD driver which leaves you with Microsoft's settings, including it's own calibration set you can access in the control panel.
In this limited mode calibration is mapped properly in all programs, including Sai. You won't have access to most buttons except for the first button being right click (with hover disabled), and there will be no pen pressure, but you can calibrate the cursor to how you hold your stylus with the appropriate offsets without issue no matter what you use.
Kind of useless without pressure and pen settings though so from here you should install the tablet PC drivers from the net. You now have pen pressure and the appropriate utilities needed for better usage of your stylus. You are also now able to set wacom's own points of calibration for programs that specifically call for it - usually art programs.
Having the two sets of calibration points makes itself known in certain situations. For example if you have the desktop or another program active that is following the microsoft set and mouse over a program using wacom's set. If the two sets are calibrated differently, mousing over a program using the other set would show you the cursor in one position, but immediately clicking the screen or alt+tabbing over to the program will make the cursor jump over match the calibration of the other set.
Well... here is where this bug comes into play. You get your settings back, but now you have a second set of calibration points competing with each other. The windows set you can change from the control panel, and the wacom set you're supposed to be able to change in wacom's pen input control panel. You can set the points yourself, but as by their own admission it isn't registering. For the most part it's a non issue. Most things default to the windows mapping which is the set you can actually calibrate. For programs like sai, that specifically calls for wacom's set? There is no way to calibrate it. The Tablet PC Input panel and the tabcal lincal novalidate XGridPts/YGridPts line (to use custom, multi point calibration) in the command prompt only effect window's set.
There used to be a bug exploit that allowed you to change it... details on all of this being found here.

Although the driver works a little better since then, allowing pressure to work in more programs than ever before, it still isn't perfect. The "hold to right click" glitch no longer works, leaving people who still need the calibration trick to make their program of choice work out in t he cold. Although not an issue for normal tablets, most wacom penabled pcs/ monitors have an issue with the actual hardware that causes accuracy jittery on the edges of the screen and wonky mapping between the actual cursor and stylus if left uncalibrated. Unless your hardware works on point right out of the box by (which is rare, if ever) this won't be an issue for you, but in most cases, this has been a known issue for years, even on some cintiqs, so you'd have to step in and mitigate any offset by calibrating the screen yourself.
In my case the cursor is offset 5-7 milometers diagonally... cursor action hiding beneath my fingers. It's not a problem problem in most programs, but it makes sai unusable when it inexplicably makes the stylus jump to this position.
So what is the solution? Well, for windows 7 it would have been be to revert back to older versions of the drivers while for windows 8 there is only one other option. Samsung's drivers are a step back so the only step from here is this. The only other version, circa june 2012.
http://www.wacom.com/en/shared/down.....0driver-1.aspx
Now I can properly calibrate the wacom set of coordinates!
Only now my issue is that for some reason any levels of pressure beyond 255 is registered as MAX. According to the debugger the 1024 levels of pressure were behaving normally... but for whatever reason certain programs adjusted their scaling, maxing at 255 which is 1/4th what the threshold should have been for how hard you pressed. Sure, you chould adjust the pressure curve to make 1024=255, but you can't even adjust curves in this version of the driver! You can in the PC version within tht driver. In older versions you could modify the dat file, but neither option is available here. Though there is this that allows you to use a third party program to modify the curve since the new dat file is incomprehensible.
If you followed these steps you could adjust the curves in theory: http://www.lab.envirex.cz/?page_id=3
... only any adjustments you make to the dat file, from making small text edits, to using this program to adjust the curve, to renaming/ deleting the file itself brought on a replacement of the file in it's original form within seconds... the only solution being to have the property window open for the file or folder with read-only checked and hitting apply the moment you make the change... after a few tries the change actually sticking.
With this you can make it so that your pressure scale 1024 input to 255 output and the other key points accordingly, although culling your effective pressure by 25%, making the beta drivers work for you with calibration intact.
But that is unacceptable.
- solution -
On a whim, after seeing someone use a fujitsu pen interchagebly between this samsung device and the fujitsu t902 and reading about compatibility and other issues being solved by switching to the magical fujitsu driveres I decided to give them a try. What was the worst that could happen? I already did a fresh install of windows 8 for various reasons.
So I Went here: http://support.fujitsupc.com/CS/Por.....pportsearch.do
Selected Notebook PC/ T Series/ T902
Downloaded their Digitizer drivers and voila! It worked! Pressure, calibration, tablet utilities, and all! It's not as good as useful as the PC drivers, It doesn't offer it's own built in curve utility, macro utilities, and setting profiles bound to indivudual pens or programs, but I now got the bare minimum to work!

Posted 13 years agoJoy of joys! Possibly thanks to Taigitsune's genius advice to repurposing this spray for my throat, I managed to sleep roughly 13 hours and I feel like a new man. It muast have came in the tail end of the affliction because right now, outside of a little soreness and puffiness of the soft palate it seems to have gone away! I will head all warnings though and try not to get myself sick while hunkering down in crunch time again~
Unfortunately I can't stream the immediate works I have lined up buuuuuuut after quite a few months I'm ready to give it another go! I haven't streamed from this computer yet but I hope I can finally have the raw power to make recordings quality enough to re-use once and for all~

Et tu, Uvulae?
Posted 13 years agoIn 4 days I had maybe 10 hours of sleep total.
Well the first two were justified. Kinda. I drew for about 17 hours straight again (trying to finish EVERYTHING I couldn't last month on top of this months work early), all hopped up on caffeine pills and 5 hour energy because I had the bright idea of starting at 8pm. Then, as what should have been a short break, I started playing Dark Souls for the first time since it was gifted to me on PC and I couldn't stop for 10 hours. Whatever. All in.... 2-days work, right? Resuming a normal healthy life schedule the next day?
Nope.
Fucking god damn uvulitus that night.
I'm sure most of you all have had it before, but I want to complain anyway.
I breathe in and the grape sized thing squeezes into my throat and hopefully stays behind my tonsils so I can breathe through my nose without any distressful sensation. What happens if I breathe and it pushes through this secure spot? I start gagging. Beyond sometimes dry heaving when I'm up, when I'm laying down the sensation of having this grape sized thing suspended in my throat is so intense due to the chronic inflammation brought on by allergic rhinitis and just... fuck it all. This sucks. Second night in a row with this.
Wah wah wah etc if this keeps up I'm going to the doctors/ hospital~

Thanks! Getting the Samsung ATIV SmartPC Pro
Posted 13 years agoIt is everything I wanted in a tablet. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ.....Tpk=ativ%20pro
I know the specs I described didn't seem like much but they were indeed based on a computer I previously used to do all my work on which this tablet absolutely blows out of the water. It isn't going to replace my desktop and cintiq, which I still absolutely love (THANKS SKIMIKE), but I think it will compliment it very well while giving me the ability to work any time anywhere without any hassle! OMG so excited..... now if I can only find the damn thing in stock without people arbitrarily tacking on hundreds of dollars!

Posted 13 years agoNot going to revise this. Just gonna type this out free form then bump I'll it off. Got things to do.... and I don't have a lot of time to do it.
I'll spare yall the finer details... just know that I'm stuck in this custody clusterfuck. It won't be short, but it won't be the novel it could be either since shit literally goes down every day.
Months ago, after getting physical with another relative she was staying with she decided to go from north Florida to Orlando (2.5 hours south) unannounced to visit other relatives... did her crazy talk to walls in the shower for 4 hours ritual, fought my aunt and grandmother who tried to get her out (big mistake), then took off further south breaking down on the city's border (ran out of gas), in which a friend of the family came swooped in and saved the day.... only for her to take off again disappearing for days. Her son wasn't even a year old when she left him with me when this happened and it wasn't until days later, when the APB turned up her car in some gas station in dade county (4-6 hours further south), that we found her in some hospital. She had declared she was abandoning her child then and wasn't coming back while she was sequestered in some phsyche ward for the situation she got herself into... found wandering the streets, dehydrated, driving (again) until the gas ran out.
Jump cut to a court room where papers were filed and custody of her child was stripped from her temporarily..... where a laundry list of counseling, medication, drug test, and personal goals must be met for her to regain unsupervised visits and indeed full custody of her own child.
Keep in mind the baby's daddy is a deadbeat who, which his family backed him up on, threatened violence if the kid is put up for adoption. He has no legal claim since he was thousands of miles away when the baby was born thus not being on the birth certificate and also being too poor to submit to a DNA test. His family lives here though so in taking care of this innocent child which is surrounded by people who don't want him (though many pretend they do) almost every day is a test of patience as arguments and on the occasion, physical violence ensues. Heh, if they are the ones who started the fire here I wouldn't be surprised. Puerto Ricans are crazy man.
One physical altercation I got in was because I wasn't taking the baby to church every saturday. I'm not religious, but everyone else involved (though not) is and the cliff note version of their story is that I'm a prideful athiest who dared to questioned god who is brainwashing their child in my evil doctrine and this is what they are telling the child's extended family. This is not true. I'm no more athiest then I am asanta or azombie. I don't believe in peter pan but I'm not going to take a personal stance against him any more then I would some other fictional or mythological character - it's just not something that is a part of my life. Still.... when the big reveal occurred I ended up being presented as some snake in the grass and people got all up in my grill. After some yelling and finger pointing, yet another instance when a finger was painted right into my cheek I felt threatened and defended myself.... the guy knocked flat on his ass and his brother/cousin/friend/whatever locking on to my arms so hard my arm pits and wrists were bruised for a week.
The more recent one was when I decided to wash my clothes in my own washing machine. My sister was staying over for the holidays in perpetration for the dinner I was hosting as well as visiting her son with some other family buuuuuuut she decided to do her laundry here which apparently was a ticking time bomb. Welp, she's been doing this one load of clothing, forgetting it's there, and waiting for it to stink up the place before she redid it again which went on for two days. After I got tired of asking her if she was done so on the morning in question I quietly went in and started putting her smelly but dry clothing to the side of the washer while I put mine in. She heard the door of the washer and freaked out telling me to stop rifling through her bras and panties. She knocked the basket out of my hand, snatched the clothing away, threw it back into the washer, and pressed the button to start the wash. I ask her what she is doing and she turns around, hunches over, throws her hands out and starts to walk backwards into me yelling at me to stop. When my dad, who's here to discuss the child/ holiday comes over to see what's going on, she immediately falls to the ground yelling "owwwww you asshole". I step right over her, stop the washer, and started taking her clothing out again because at this point I was through with her, I was kicking her out and was going to call her social worker but first I had a load for the next few days to finish. I didn't tell her I was about to throw her out... I was going to let her down easy to avoid any fight buuuuuut because I was a "pervert who was groping her and touching her underwear" (none of this happened but this is what she tells others) she saw fit to attack me. Punches, kicks, general flailing, she runs into my room knocking everything off my desk, then she storms out and calls the cops on me. In my own home. Which she was visiting. After she attacked me. Who has custody of her child. For generally doing shit like this. The call went nowhere though, he basically told me if I was okay finishing up her laundry for her and giving it to her on a later day and I said yeah that's fine as long as she found another place to stay, and we parted ways. Absolutely pointless these fights/ arguments are but then again when isn't it. Welp, she made it to Orlando a bit later which was met with profound awkwardness to those she attacked a few months before and then relief when I showed up half a day later to keep the reigns on her since her ability to see her own child during this holiday was at stake, but yeah...... this happened. All because I wanted to do my laundry!
Oh and I'm 11 months sober and had a birthday - still mid 20s! Or is it late 20s now. Not sure where mid ends and late 20s begin. As for why I bring up my soberness.... well... not sure I can last the whole year! With this kid I might though, depending on who I get over and when or if family wants to take care of my nephew for a bit.

Shopping for a Tablet PC // Sony Vaio Duo 11
Posted 13 years agoBlack Friday sales are well on their way and I decided to shop around for a new goodie to make my work portable. If the last few weeks have proved anything is that my current setup of laptop + cintiq and 6 lbs of cables and the necessity of a power outlet is just too cumbersome to qualify as portable. Sure, with the right accommodations (large desk area with power outlets) I can work to my dark little heart's content but it's still very far from convenient so now I'm looking into getting a Tablet PC.
Don't get me wrong, I still love the cintiq and I'd replace it the moment I'd have to... but for drawing on the go, I need something on the stress free side of portability and I'll consider any suggestions.
Right now I have my eye on the Sony Vaio Duo 11 for the 1920x1080 11.6 inch screen, standard windows 8 OS (a big plus for me, since nearly all the tablets I had my eyes on were app based meaning no Sai), and 256 levels of pressure sensitivity on the stylus but the N-Trig tablet hardware has me on the fence since google-fu has shown me it does not behave with Sai particularly well. I am willing to move on from using Sai since it seems like it's never going to be updated... but I'd like to cling onto it for as long as I can. I'll consider any option though.... as long as it fits my very minimal requirements of having at least 2 gigs of ram, 256 levels of pressure sensitivity, and hopefully the ability to run Sai.
Here is a random review of it since people like clicky things http://www.365cloudtech.com/sony-va.....rabook-review/ but yeah I'm really open to anything.

Resuming Comic/ Flash project.
Posted 13 years agoI still have a few things to learn in Flash before I can get it to where I want it to be, but once I figure it all out I'll get a domain name. In the mean time I'll do staggered updates as I figure out how I'm going to plan for this. My schedule is a delicate balance of sucking at works owed and working for the current month which is why I schedule things by the week/ month... and unfortunately working on my comic is on the lowest of the low on the priority table and unless I do something drastic as what I'm planning now, setting 1-3 hours a day to work on it regardless of what happens, it will never get done... a prospect that brings a tear to my eye. I want to do this... the visual novel/ adventure format is perfect for me and it's an utter joy to work on but the way things are going now, if I don't get into a good rhythm on it I fear it's not something I will be able to get off the ground.
Short update on the fire that happened right outside my apt
Posted 13 years agoTo those who were interested in an update from http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9152520/
I'm tired as all hell right now... got almost no sleep since then, but here is the run down.
All evidence points to arson. An accelerant seems to have been splashed onto the large wooden fence which is where the fire sprawled out from. The column of fire was roughly 15 feet wide, 80 feet long, and 20 feet high sprawling outwards from the fence and that it was put out relatively early since it didn't spread all the way up the trees or much further down the fence, which was actually hundreds of feet long and 15 feet high. As of the gif it has pretty much died down but at it's worst point it was so bright and orange that you wouldn't even be able to see out the window - that it was so bright it lit up the apartment where now all you see are shadows and silhouettes.
:edit:
The fence consists of 3 specific parts. A 7 foot wooden fence on my side, a 5 foot chain link fence in the middle, and a 15 foot fence on the other side. The neighber owning the other side of the fence knocked large parts of it down, revealing the fact that the fire was actually closer to 120 feet long~
Scary stuff. Didn't sleep much since then... can't sleep now. Having to come to terms with the possibility of having to lose everything I owned was rough.... as I stood there, everything I could carry on the hood of my car watching and waiting for it to spread. Even if the fire dpt saved the day the feeling still lingers.
So what's this weasyl thing I'm getting invited to?

About the avatar.
Posted 13 years agoBump journal basically.
I said I would never change the Mother (Earthbound Zero) avatar but I guess I lied! For October I will be using this one.
It's Monokuma (Monobear to goons) from Dangan Ronpa:Academy of Hope and High School Students of Despair. I took it from a youtube video.
It's hard to describe what he is or what is role is up front without spoiling anything... but imagine he is a demented gameshow host where he delves deeply into the contestants lives in order to find and use the most powerful triggers he can to motivate them into murdering each other in the facility they are trapped in. Chief among them is the way out - if you murder someone without getting caught you're free to go! You win! You "graduate" and everyone else is executed which is done by way of investigation and mock trial to sort out the clues. Though, if you commit murder and are caught you are the one executed and everyone else lives! It's been described as Pheonix Right meets Battle Royale.
Fun times!
The game is anime as balls but it's one one of the most engaging adventure games of recent memory. I never thought I would become a fan of what seems to be a man in a japanese schoolgirl uniform but alas, she's one of my favorite fictional characters to date! I didn't play it though, I've just been following the Super Highschool Level: Let's Play thread at SA and I can't help but checking back for the latest update, even after all this time!
Check it out here if you have a free day or two. It's probably the only place to find such a comprehensive translation. I mean it must be, because anything else I found of it (when I got fed up and scoured the internet for spoilers) seems to be drawing directly from this thread.
http://forums.somethingawful.com/sh.....readid=3447397
I wish I could play it myself but alas, I cannot read the language. It's one of those games, like Mother 3 (Earthbound 2 to some), that will take hardcore fans months and months to translate for most of us to ever hope to play it but it didn't stop me from becoming a fan and is one of the main reasons why I am attempting a comic done in a mock adventure game format.

Auction FAQ/ Rules (to stop clutter in the info text)
Posted 13 years agoRULES
THIS IS A DRAMA FREE ZONE
Don't like auctions? Don't like that I sell characters or do YOUR CHARACTER HERE images? Don't like someone participating? Don't make it known on my pages.
Seriously do not post your opinions about the current/ final bid, the bidders, their characters, the art, or the concept of auctions in general.
If you see something or someone shady going on let me know in private. I don't want to open up the floodgates for people to attack one another over this and that. This format isn't meant for everyone and there will be people who dislike it so if this is you don't participate. Keep your negativity off of my page!
Minimum Bids are $5. No penny sniping!
Bid only what you can afford upon winning the auction.
Paypal only. No E-checks. I work with invoices only so I will be asking you for your email and sending you the invoice for the transaction to take place.
I only accept bids from established members of the community only
To counter to possible troll bids I will not accept bids in certain situations at my discretion. This is usually from members without any combination of watchers/ submissions/ favorites/ views. Shady/ empty accounts make people uncomfortable and If your bid is deleted and your page is blocked don't take it personally. I'm just preventing possible issues and these are among the few tools I have to prevent them. If you were serious and blocked anyway I apologize but I need to have standards in place for auctions and show that I am willing to enforce them.
Bid as a reply to the highest bidder
If your reply to a bidder is not a bid it does not belong and will be deleted. This keeps things easier to follow.
I will be keeping screenshots of who bids and when.
This is to keep track of those who retract their bids. To deny them future participation. I'm not some auctioning venue, doing them this way requires trust in all parties and I'm doing what I can to enforce this. I do it this way because the c/o is obvious by the last bid and because I never have time to keep it fully up to date anyway. This is more for me than it is for anyone else but still, heads up!
Once the date and time are met, the auction ends regardless of whether or not I announce a winner, with one exception
I use furaffinity's timestamp for this and I base it on my time, US/ Canada's East Coast Time at EDT/ EST GMT-5. If a real bid is made just before the auction ends then an anti sniping measure is taken and a 10 minute timer is set off and the auction is extended. If no last minute bids are made, then the auction simply ends at the original time.

If no last minute bids are made, then the auction simply ends at the original time.
Any good news or life driven podcasts out there? News Stream
Posted 13 years agoI find myself growing out of the comedian/ interview format and listening to shows like (or more specifically, just...) this American Life and wonder if there are any news or real-life-story driven podcasts worth listening to.
I still listen to Nerdist and Uhh Yeah Dude but I'm kind of hoping there are more to add to my list of things to listen to to pass the time and one of the reasons why a news feed interests me is because... well... I still don't watch TV and instead of finding out through random articles and postings on whatever blog or board I happen to be lurking in I have my hopes on decent podcasts being out there keeping me up to date.
:edit:
News streams work too! Even if it's just a livestream of a television news channel I need something to break up the monotony of phoned in bits and staged comedic repartee.
