Ulu: Hiya. Wanted to check in and let folks know I am still alive. Just mentally not been able to draw. I did get the latest clip studio, though, so I finally have a comfortable Art Program to use again.

Commissions are Permanently CLosed until further notice. Right now I want to try to do Artwork for fun. I want to play with ideas or just doodle. That's something I haven't been able to do for a really long time. I drew for the first time in two months, so I am pretty sure I really need to step away from commissions and just do my own thing.

Man, I'm pretty frustrated at the amount of people in the latest FA update journal who thinks gender identity and genitals/sex are the same thing, or that gender identity is NSFW. And the amount of pissy people upset about tagging their work.

No Gender and sex are not the same thing. No, Gender is not a nsfw aspect. It's a communicative aspect. Yes, there are more reasons to tag gender than for nsfw purposes.

One of the biggest uses of the gender tags in my works has been people easily being able to comment "aww he/she/they is cute" without having to do research into an OC just to find out how to refer to them as. And I know this is the case, because I see people commenting on characters that are otherwise gender-nuetral looking with their correct pronouns. For gender fluid OCs, I even give the correct pronouns for that specific artwork, and people still comment with the tagged Gender listing.

For searching content, yes for more than just looking up nsfw content. I've used the search of gendered tags if I'm trying to find a specific artwork I don't know the name of, but know I'm looking for a "blue, female, rabbit" in the "forest". It's for narrowing down searches better when needing to find things accurately.

And finally, Gender is NOT the same as your sex/genitals. In my Uluri art, I add the gender most suited for that art at the time as sometimes Uluri in art is Nonbinary, male, or female. And this is the case in all art both sfw or nsfw. Sometimes Uluri is male in some artwork, even though to an average person you wouldn't know. Uluri is inherently non-binary looking. And you know what, like I mentioned before people DO look at the gender marker and converse in comments using that set of pronouns.

As both a Nonbinary person myself, and a DID system, gender often does not match my sex. As such, often some of my OCs genders and Sex do not align either. Not all OCs are drawn with Gender and Sex aligning, the same as irl people. It's still important. It might not be important/relevent to specifically YOU, but that doesn't mean it isn't important to other people. It's an important communication tool.

I had a heck ton of fun at Furality. It was a lot like going to a con IRL except I could turn noisy things down so I could handle them I was able to go to the dance things because of this and I had so much fun. I also really liked being able to teleport to the different convention zones instead of of choosing between what I wanted to go to for one because the others at the other side of the con. TPs for life. XD

I really loved seeing people from FA here. It made me so happy to be able to say hi to everyone. I also was so happy to see my friends I haven't seen in person for a long time in person.

Would definitely go again. I haven't been able to go to cons for medical reasons, so this made me cry the happy tears.

I'm excited to be able to go to a convention, be it Virtual. It'll be my first time. I haven't been to a Con since 2019, so I'm excited to see what it's like and say hi to everyone.

I haven't read it, but The small Paragraphs I was given to read here and there while the book was being made were really good at getting me to imagine the scenes. They're really excited to have finally gotten the book finished, and I'm super proud of them. It has Dark themes in it as a Warning.

Ulu: It's my Legs! One of my newest Kitty's favorite toys is my legs. XD He doesn't quite know how to play nicely yet, but he's making progress.OH, yeah I got a new cat named Squid before winter swooped itself on us.

He was just hanging out outside, and we started feeding him. Poor guy was definitally dumped. He doesn't get along much with my indoor kitties, so I can kinda only bring him inside for bedtime, but I'm very happy that he decided to stay so we could help him get healthy. He's got a place to eat and sleep safely, vet checked, shots the works. Loves killing my legs.

Ulu: Hi everyone. I'd like to try to be a little more active maybe. Taking the tiny steps. Some of the Biggest anxiety Has finally come to pass last week, so I should be no longer in "waiting mode" like i've been stuck at the last two years. Now it's going to be me trying to finally readjust to things proper at home.

With the new Tag system on FA and also being able to block taggless art I can definitally use FA a lot more. I really missed browsing around folks artworks. Very happy with that. I've been testing the waters since the feature came out, and I can definitally wander the Newest Browse section pretty well. Still adding a few tags here and there when I find em cuz a lot of people don't use the common tags to describe their art on this site for some reason.

As for art, I'm still struggling to be able to actively draw. I think I want to try to focus on Personal and Fanart just to get myself a bit comfortable again. I seem to only be able to draw in very tiny, infrequent bursts before I stop drawing for a time. I WANT to draw, but i'm having various barriers both mentally in physically. It's been difficult. I really appreciate my commissioners who have been so kind as to work with the very very small updates I've been doing for their works. I'm really glad to at least have some Sketches for people right now.

Ulu: Any of you guys got some Good chairs with Lumbar Support for sad backs? I don't care about prices since its just gonna get added to a list so I can see what there is. I just... its really hard to figure out if a chair is actually good for my sad back shopping online. You got a chair that supports your back and bum comfy, do let me know what brand and such it is. I'm sitting on a rock slab practically and it's not healthy.

UNRELATED: Also hi guys. I'm really trying to get things to work, but my Anxiety is just near unmanagable right now. Stressful life things be stressful. Trying to post the 3 or 4 things I've managed to draw in the last.... half year?

Ulu: Morning/Afternoon. My healing update is at the point where its a tiny bit up and down. I'm at that point where I am feeling better but still shouldn't do anything or I lose healing progress. One of my stitches Loosened and dug back into me causing some troubles two weeks ago, so that kinda set me back a bit (went into shock for the second time in my life real bad), but things are going well. The cats trying to jump on me are my biggest obstical right now in healing.

Mentally, I'm absolutely exhausted. Physically, also exhausted. And i'm craving pastries so much constantly because im bored having to sit around being useless for so long.

Looking forward to Snake in Beast of Bermuda game. Tested that while i could and it'll be fun to play around. (Hi to Floof). Excited to just crawl up into the weirdest of places. Uluri: Been a while and lots of things Have happened since Surgery at the end of April. I am definitely recovering really well. Still have a weight restriction for a while but to me it feels like the only thing my body needs to heal up is to fix up some of the muscles that had to be cut. You got this Body of mine. You're doing great.

Aside from the good news surgery, I had quite a terrifying experience with a different "doctor" recently. I actually don't remember a portion of it as from what I can gather after Sin got terrifyingly upset, Happy swapped out instead. TLDR is extra religious "Doctor" started to pray without consent at me while I was having a very severe Panic attack. Nice big ol memory cut from in the room to into the hallway. (Happy's still Upset and shaken about it, and I'm still having nightmares.) Was Scary. euugh, just typing is giving me the big anxieties.

Still a tad difficult to get motivation to draw. When I do is like, extra short bursts and barely finishing anything i make. Art hard right now. Although the call of Stardew Valley and Beasts of Bermuda don't help. XD they make me feel relaxed.

Ulu: It's our foot. Mine. It's stuck in a SPecial shoe because while I was sleeping, I somehow Injured the hell out of it. Expected to be a Fracture, full results of xray later. It's at least not a full break. How the Hell did I hurt myself this bad and not know until I woke up in the morning?

Ulu wakes up, everything is fine. I move the blanket slightly. Pain from my toe that makes me see colors. Purple, cranky toe. What was it hit on so hard in the night? It was really something to try to explain that I had no idea exactly how my toe got like this to the Drs yesterday. It was easiest to just say I probably flailed around during nightmares.

Also, I frikken hate Hospital chairs. So much. They are not meant for a 3.5 hour wait to be seen for just Xrays. -throws hospital chairs across the page-

My asks are not for requests. "Can you draw [blank]?" and "Has your OC met my OC?" are not Asks I will be answering. I will also not answer nsfw asks that are not up my alley, either. There are some big No's in the nsfw category that I'm not okay with that has been asked a lot lately in this past year, and I am pretty sure some of them have been re-asked multiple times from the same few people phrased only a little differently. They're very specific and niche.

As for Asks asking for your OCs to be drawn with mine, there is a reason these are Anon asks. As these are not requests, the only other characters that would ever be drawn aside from my own would be the Anon Eevees. Do keep that in mind.
