Posted 9 years agoTrying to get some moneys to make prints of a few series I'm working on, so I'm opening up for a few commissions!
These commissions will be done with silver or gold leaf, minimal watercolor and ink washes. Check my gallery for examples of silver leaf, but mostly, these will be my guinea pigs! They are $50 each and will be mailed with the states at no cost and to other countries for $7

Posted 10 years agoMy better half discovered two kittens on the sidewalk while taking out the trash, still connected to the placenta and everything. Queue montage, humane society visit, paperwork, waking up every two hours, one of the kittens passing etc etc etc to one week later and I am still having a very difficult time bottle feeding the surviving kitted.
I do NOT know what I am fucking doing wrong with these feeding nipples but the cut in them is either too small so that he is not getting anything from all the nursing he does, or its too big and milk bubbles out his nose and sometimes he sneezes. This happens at least a couple times a day, and since I've had him. When we took him to the humane society they looked him over and said he was healthy and nothing was wrong with him. I expressed my concern about this and that he may be aspirating the formula but... I dunno, the hole in the nipple THEY provided was MUCH bigger than the hole in the nipples I've been using.
For the first few days with that nipple, the formula wasn't bubbling from his nose and he wasn't sneezing it after feeding, but now he is occasionally. Do you think he's now nursing too eagerly/too quickly? He's still gaining weight, he isn't lethargic, he eliminated before every feeding and it's clear, and he voids his bowels once or twice a day and it's normal and pasty but... I'm super concerned about this feeding thing! D: I have 6 nipples and all of them seem to either be too small to get him to stay interested in suckling or too large and it bubbles out his nose sometimes. I don't know if thats normal and I shouldn't be so worried or if I'm seriously contributing to the possibility of pneumonia by not doing something right. D: !!! I mostly have him flat with his head slightly elevated and craned when feeding, and sometimes he's just so animated that I have to roll him into a purrito so he doesn't crawl all over the place and claw up fy hands.
Any advice or pictures on how big or small to make the nipple hole would be great, or better holding/feeding techniques? Pictures would be best. Ive tried pins and I've tried snipping an "x" with scissors and I've tried just one slash over the top too. Please and thank you.

Problem with FA Ads; no response after a month?
Posted 10 years agoAnd apparently it's not just me. My friend and I have been trying to contact FA ad via the recommended rout IE email, but neither of us have received a response in over a month and we both have sent out 2 emails with our ads. What's up with that? Looking for a community response in case i somehow missed something with the updates. It seems bizarre since the month prior my friend had his ad up no problem. Are any of the ads new this month? It's mostly just frustrating to not get ANYTHING back, not even a "fuck off". But I suppose I could see whats up in the forums? But hey, if anyone else knows why this might be the case, please let me know.

They can be whatever you like, whatever theme, rating gender, sex etc. The reason being is a medical crisis has arisen with my grandmother and she will be relocating to move in with me where she can get the care that she needs. This will cover the moving costs at the very least, since we're relocating her several hundred miles.

I'm super stoked I saw a lot of my friends I haven't seen in a long while, plus, met some friends I've known for a long time online! Posted 10 years agoSpecifically because a lot of FA is visually information based (as mainly a gallery site), the way the layout is set up now makes it incredibly hard to take in information easily. The eye is not led in any particular direction. Instead, the eye is easily confused/overwhelmed with the placement of objects in the profile, the different font sizes, the HUMONGOUS zone of of information (literally no padding on either side) and how nothing inside the seperate boxes and the boxes themselves are not justified the same. Added to this confusion is the palette, which TONALLY is great being gray (unquestionably the majority of artists prefer a dark neutral BG) but there are too many shades of gray and then some added buttons that get lost because they are the same tone, even on the more defined, darker(darkest?) colored background which I assume is meant to highlight the area. 3 is pushing it, and it looks like there's actually 4, not including the font and buttons
My actionable solutions are:
—reduce color scheme to 3 colors. The watch and send note buttons look incredibly terrible and get lost in spite of being on the darker BG, you should make them 3d (beveled edge or transparent reflection/shine) or bubble them out in a similar way in the same scheme, that way they match but still look like clickable elements.
—Least important information in the bottom either free floating or in a smaller font READ: stats et al/comment. Most important information gets mixed up, things like contact info and artist information should be at the top and not completely separated from the body of art.
—The boxes (Stats/journals/ profile image/user profile) are staggered in a way that makes everything in them look cluttered. Reduce boxes to one side or the other. In spite of there being ONE LESS box (favorites is now a tab) it still looks jumbled to hell. Putting a lot more padding on BOTH sides of the screen might help reduce the eye wondering effect since the eye doesn't have to scroll so far—having information cover so much of the damn screen PROMOTES eye wondering and the eye has no single area to focus on. I can't emphasize this enough, it's incredibly bad when they key to galleries is getting the eye to focus one KEY ELEMENTS but the art being at the top is simply not enough with everything else—with the art box being in the top center of the page, BUT left justified (with the preview on the left) either every box after that needs to be left justified OR the elements INSIDE the box needs to be centered so the other boxes stand alone/seperate from the main feature (the art)
-The backend is MORE complicated, LESS streamlined, LESS intuitive. I shouldn't have to go to my FA to edit submissions or journals, and honestly having to do that to delete them in the previous setup was also not intuitive. The option should be directly available in each element. Less clicking = less stress
—Fonts. Don't oversize, always undersize. One basic size, and all the minimal/less important information should be around half that size. 12/8 is typical.
I really hate to diss the designer of the UI but it's truly awful for someone in the design field to feel this was acceptible when so many basic elements of design were tossed out. Beginner bloggers with limited design understanding can figure out better tumbler pages, it seems incredibly a site entrusted. I understand one of the biggest challenges is being able to do /ANYTHING/ but working with limitations created a very cohesive design in most cases.

Posted 10 years agoEvening, all! I have received some interest in the sketch reward of a patreon raffle! That said, I'm thinking of opening for some slots for them since the job I've been waiting on has been pushed back to an unannounced date. The images are done on newsprint in india ink and gray marker, then uploaded and digitally fiddled with. They're pretty simple, pretty experimental, and would be wing it type commissions with minimal input like mood and pg or adult and the like ranging from headshots to full bodies. I accept most content other than extremes and the lewds. Single character only at this time until I can develop a price and method for couples. I'm sure if you would like the original sketch, we could work out S&H, though since they are digitally colored, it would only be the inks.

Posted 10 years agoThis morning one of my compeers messaged me with a gripe about a person who decided to take it upon themselves to be the arbiter of their worthiness.
This is an understatement. But I'm going to entertain the situation because Ilike to touch myself am a masochist.
I wasn't particularly concerned with someones arbitrary opinion on value based on their selected pool of pretend animal fuck arts (no judgment, just perspective on the amygdala hijack something so niche will apparently cause.) But, and always a but... Because it is /never/ reasonable to go into an establishment and tell the customers they are getting a bad deal and then, like any self-important child, wonder why they were escorted out once the trousers went down, they were criticized and blocked. Say what you want about the worthiness/quality of a piece, fine, opinions are personal and valid. However, once an imaginary audience is coopted to simultaneously say they are too stupid to decide for themselves what they want to spend money on, and also to self-award authority on what /other/ people should reason their money is for AND ALSO making character assumptions about said person—their culpability as self-involved ie egotistical ie an asshole has just been confirmed. Period. EOM.
Usually this would be the end of it, it's beneath me to spend much more thought on something with little real life value. Queue deciding that this pretty minimal encounter deserved two journals, and it's obvious this person has a point to make, and that point is that they are (more) important and the situation isn't over until someone validates them. Queue the suspicion of what drives my alcoholism: unchecked narcissism. Clearly suffering from a narcissistic injury, they mask their journals as some kind of public service. Not surprisingly, their journals have a vindictive streak of people they've been wronged by, IE criticized for their passive aggressive subversive behavior. I get it, it's the internet, blah blah blah minimal recourse for shit behavior and everyone seeks their hug box. Measured responses that were criticisms of the behavior was met with blocking, ironically because in their own words:
"Let's just say that people blocking anyone that disagrees with them so they can get the last ignorant word in personally offends me, and leave it at that."
It doesn't take much, does it? Queue accusations of being a creep and a stalker. Pragmatically, who else was supposed to see the journal if not your asspatters and, on the flipside, the people that support the aforementioned artist? The internet is full of narcissists. Sometimes it's from someone 19 years old and it's normal narcissism dealt with by healthy sublimation, like masturbation or alcoholism, and sometimes it's from a 30 year old that can't contain their narcissistic injuries and want to punish, pretending at sublimation via self aggrandizing journals with sterile advice: "THE BIG YELLOW ONE IS THE SUN!" Brilliant, Watson. #Helping. The extreme of this drive to punish ends up being honor killings. Do I think this guy will kill someone? Probably not, but they were obviously fostered to the age of 30 to reason it is worth the effort on the internet in an extreme niche with all of 15 people willing to help masturbate them.

Posted 10 years agoI am entirely flatter and I'm obliged to say thanks to everyone whose Favorited my work and decided to watch me! And especially thank you to the people that have been watching me for the years I've been on the site to watch me grow, and sometimes stagnate, but overall persist in trying to chase my passion :> My workload has waned drastically, but I substitute it was a lot of experimentation and learning these days,still looking for a lot of refinement. I really want to thank everyone whose contributed to that, considering many of the watchers I have are also people I watch too! Thank you to all my lovely artist friends who've been an inspiration, an encouragement and a lot of times a large help when I'm looking to improve or get out of a rut. <3 <3 <3 Really, thank you guys ouo
That all said, I have made my Patreon and have been running it for a month as a type of trial with a very small pool of people I've advertised to. Now that I've gauged what kind of work that will mean for me in the future, I'm more confident about being able to do this long term. This month I will definitely be making a journal with all the ins and outs of how I run my patreon, especially now that I have made some works to be reviewed by the public to see if it tickles their fancy :>
