One Soldier keeps the next Soldier going, which keeps all the brothers from falling.
US Army
Last week, I took my Phase 2 test up at the jail. To explain, the whole on the job training regimen is a year, divided into 4 phases. I scored with a 93, quite pleased indeed :)
The training Lieutenant continues to hear good things about me. Only thing that irks me is the inconsistency of some of the block Sergeants. Others tell me to back off regarding my assertiveness, others are saying to be more assertive. It's a bit hard to adjust to that, considering the inmates must have consistency, otherwise they can't read you right, and things can get difficult with regards to working with them. Other than that, no issues.
This week is my last week in Phase 2, then after 2 days off, it's on to Phase 3. I honestly can't wait. Phase 3 are all single man posts. Bit more risky? Yup. However, less bullshit. Not as much accountability, no mail hand out, no block cleanup sessions. It's already sounding good. And it'll last until the end of May, when I move onto Phase 4.
Regarding my Army career, I reenlisted on the 8th of January. Only for a year, however, it's mainly for a feel out of the situation to come in the world, as well as to see if I can transition to this new MOS. Apparently to work with a counter IED system, which sounds very interesting to me. 9 week course, so that'll be a fun adventure should I be able to scob that up. Big promotion opportunities with that too. The Master Sergeant that's giving me the info said he's the only currently qualified Soldier in the state, and if I were to get that MOS, I can nab a Sergeant slot in no time. And that'll be another goal scratched off the list.
Cons this year, well, not looking too good other than for FurFright. I looked at my pocket schedule, and apparently the FurFright dates fall right over my 4 day weekend in October. As long as the Army plays into my favor, I'll be at that con for sure. Here's hoping! I could really use a con, especially after missing FurFright last year and FC recently. That's all for now!
