Amsterdam is a Mongoose.
I was looking at yellow mongooses and banded mongooses. I also liked Rikki Tikki Tavi when I was a kid. And I'm fascinated by snakes. So think 'generic mongoose' or a mongoose that's like a mix of a lot of different types of mongooses. But not meerkats. Meerkats creep me out. Ew. [j/k! I'm just NOT a meerkat].
As far as mongooses go, I'm tan/yellow ocherish on top, lighter tan/naples yellowish on bottom, and rustish at the corners and seams. There are threeish pairs of dark brownish stripes- the only important ones are the ones on the face- see icons and whatnot. The other pairs of stripes are at the lower back and on the tail near the base. But do whatever you want with the body stripes- it's okay to be creative. Eyes are pale yellow, almost white. My nose, pawpads, etc, are a mahogany pinkish color. Tongue is a similar color, but lighter and a little more saturated.

Artwise, this means it's ALWAYS okay to show me smoking out. I dig all manner of smoking devices; bongs'n'bowls'n'blunts and even the occasional hookah or whatever else. S'all good.
There are a few other substances Ams will occasionally indulge in. He enjoys his friends Lucy and that other Fun Guy, for instance. He does have limits, though, so you may want to ask if I'm okay with it before drawing or otherwise representing him doing more questionable things. Just a quick disclaimer.
But while I may enjoy a drink now and then, you'll never see me drunk. Also, I do not smoke cigarettes. Rat Poison. x_______x
