My mate and I are headed to Saranac Lake this weekend for the Winter Carnival Parade this weekend. My little sister, (who has a lot of connections for an 11 year old) made arrangements for me to march in the parade in my fur suit along with the other costumed characters. I should perhaps point out, I've been watching the same raggedy mascot suits walk in this parade since I was very little, and honestly, it's a wonder I am a furry at all given how much they terrified me as a child. Either way, it's going to be me marching not in front of strangers, but nearly the entire local population of my home town where I was raised. It's strange to think I'll know them and they won't know me. I'm also excited to show my prize winning wonder dragon off to more members of my family. Poor dragon woke up with a head cold though, so now rather than breathing fire he just sort of phlegm's dragon boogers that stick and burn like napalm.


In other news my little sister has chosen a name for her purple and white crux/fox hybrid. Columbine. We looked up different purple and white flowers and to her credit, the color balance for a columbine is close to the drawing we did. We did discuss the other connotations of the name Columbine but she is determined not to let that stand in her way so I won't either.
