I haven't submitted much art in awhile so I guess I'll go post a journal of what's up.
Art for me isn't something I can do 24/7. There are times where I'm very inspired and can make a lot of nice things... and then there are times like now where that just isn't the case.
Right now I'm in my second semester of college. Things have been going pretty good so far, much better than the courses I was having to do for my last major. Before I was going to get a Bachelor in Computer Science... that was lulz hard and I hate programming so I changed it to a Bachelor in Information Science and Technology. My real career interests are in I.T. and other computer/network related administration so this new major suits me much better anyway. The classes seem fairly easy, I could extend a bit more effort when it comes to readings but we'll see. I think I counted how many days of school I got left for freshman year... it's around 40 days if not less now! Final exams will be complete mid May. Scary to think I "only" have 3 more years of school after that (this first year is feeling really fast).
I also have some money saved up for one hell of a computer build I'd like to do this year. My current rig was initially built in 2007 and then some major components were upgraded in 2008. Some small upgrades have gone in here and there since then. But now I want to finally upgrade. I'm not buying parts now because there are a number of new things to be released in April (new processors, chipsets, graphics cards) so I want to see how that stuff performs and compares before I spend any money. Current and nearly released processors that I'm interested in: (Intel i7-3820, i7-3930k, i7-3770k), I'm either getting 4x4GB, 4x8GB, 8x4GB, or 8x8GB of memory... depends on which platform I'm going, how much money I have, or how much I'd rather upgrade later than now). The Radeon 7970 is a beast of a card right now, but I really want to see how the GTX 680 will perform. I know this stuff might all seem overkill, but I don't plan on upgrading for another 5-7ish years so this will be a tight system. Other components I'm already decided on (Case, SSD, cooler, and some things I already have: storage drives, optical drive. the power supply I pick depends on what is best at the time, and what cpu/video card I'm getting)
Computer shit aside: I really want to buy a tablet. I don't want to buy a cheap crappy one either, wanna just get something good and not feel like it's holding me back. I initially wanted a Wacom Intuos4 Medium... but after a bit of thinking, I think I only need the Small version. Fuck the extra size, 2 buttons, and button OLED screen thing... I can deal without it I think and save a little money. This should enable me to freely draw more cool things all the time... versus getting frustrated with all the clicking required in Illustrator.
Other then that... Dell U3011. So expensive... so worth it X> ...whatever. future purchase. Hopefully something new and better is released sometime... it's getting a bit long in the tooth. But yes... nice 2560x1600 monitor... do want.
Eagle, out.
PS: yeah

I know I owe you my part of the trade still, I haven't forgotten. I'll get to it eventually!
EDIT: Also, I've been part of a distributed computing folding project for awhile now.
http://fah-web.stanford.edu/awards/.....tu.1617623.jpg Have earned 1.6million points so far... sweet! I was at 166,000pts from previous years... but in December I started folding 24/7 and have earned 10x the amount of points I had before.
