This weekend I was fortunate enough to meet a slew of wonderful guests at a convention called Fan Expo. Of the list of thirty some odd brilliant actors and artists two of which really made me think of my craft and what it means to be more on the filthy side of art.

I met legendary playboy cartoonist Doug Snyder and controversial filmmaker John Waters. After looking through Doug’s art and seeing John’s live show it made me think of how powerful pornography is as an art form. At the core, yes it roots from basic perverted tension but as a whole feels much more than that to me.

I’ve always had millions of fantasies and pictures in my head with no drawing talent to put them on paper and my stories stem from that. As I’ve written them however I’ve learned how strong an art form it is to capture ecstasy and taboo into a work and the reception like-minded individuals give it.

A little strange and deep I know, but something I figured was cool enough to share.
