Let's journey back to the 1970's, back when famous movie stars used to ride on jet airliners. Back when the Civil Aviation Board still existed and gave kick backs to whoever bribed them enough, and back when airlines used to use service as a way to pull customers in. Those were the days when people dressed up to go anywhere, when Continental Airlines merged with Frontier and New York Air and People Air. Back when the 747-200 ruled the skies and there was a mini-bar in First Class and Coach.
So back in the 1970's. my father was a Captain on the 727 and DC-9, when Continental had their main bases in Los Angeles, Houston, Denver, and LaGuardia. My mother was working as a flight attendant, and had married my father not too long into the 1970's. On these flights they met greats like Vincent Price, and met the original Big Bird, who would buy two first class tickets, one for him, and one for the suit.
But on one fateful day, the famous Whitney Houston and her now infamous husband, Bobby Brown, boarded a flight. Bobby Brown decided that he was the most important person on the plane, and in his infinite wisdom, decided to make snide comments to my mother and the other flight attendants on the flight. Whitney Houston, god rest her soul, was thoroughly embarrassed and angry at Mister Brown, as he continued to treat the staff as if they were his slaves and eye candy. Finally, my father became enraged at his actions, and was getting closer and closer to throw him off the plane, something that Whitney Houston, more than likely in retrospect, would have wished he had. Fortunately or unfortunately, they were able to finish the flight, but not after the staff was thoroughly enraged by his comments and actions during the flight. Although they were angry at Bobby Brown, there was great sympathy given to Whitney Houston, who had to deal with his arrogance on a daily basis. "Stiny! Who spilled coffee all over the plans for my death ray?!"

"New York Center, this is Flight 1234."
"Flight 1234, New York Center, go ahead."
"New York Center, Flight 1234 is being hijacked by bees. My god."
