Hello, this is Victor Cañizares Coleman, but online I am known as James Corck.
I'm a graphic designer, illustrator, artist, and every day I do my best to improve my artistic skills, trying out new things, drawing for others and myself. You may wonder "Why an artist? Why don't you find a job that pays better and is safer?". Well, I read once that sane people become lawyers, doctors, or something other that pays well and has a secured position. If you are insane you make movies, write books, and do pictures. I guess I am insane then. Besides, I tried that whole "better job that pays well" thing for three years, and those were the most miserable years of my life. I only feel good doing this, I genuinely do. Doing otherwise would be to betray what makes me being me.
I come from a family of artists. My great grandfather was an artist. My grandfather was an artist. My mother was an artist. And I want to continue that lineage.
I'm the creator of Ask Movie Slate, an ask blog on Tumblr where I review movies with my character, a cute unicorn called Movie Slate. I also illustrate the comic series "Old Appleoosa: Tales from Eq-Westria" written by Fernindt, "I Will Never Leave You" and "Sanguine Kindness" written by Rated-R-Ponystar, and the comic strip series "Fur With Cream".
I've worked for "BronyScot" doing graphic design for their convention, and came up with those "Best Pony Logo" edits back in 2013. I also worked with Silver Quill on his review show "After the Fact" as a title card illustrator.

STATE OF THE BIRB - OCTOBER 2025

Well, that's been a month alright.
TELEGRAM.
Still dealing with some rather heavy losses, I think the biggest issue since my last journal was the freeze of my Telegram account. I still don't know what caused it, be it the UK age verification, me adding too many people at once, or my account getting incorrectly labelled as a spam account.
Either or, it has been rough, but I'm rebuilding from there regardless. After what happened with Discord this one fazed me a bit less. So if you're trying to reach me through Telegram, I'm currently unavailable.
If you want to reach directly add me on Element, which is the Discord equivalent of an empty warehouse. DM me for my username if you'd like to add me.
COMMISSIONS.
Still purring along.
Finished a few despite all the distractions. I'm still getting back in touch with all my clients, so if I haven't reached yours yet please stand by. I'm getting to everyone one at a time.
I have also successfully upgraded my art programs, and I've gotten my PC back in working order. Now to focus on getting her a good GFX, upgrade my phone, and maybe get a Christmas present for myself with what's left.
Rent, bills, and food are all covered 100% for several months, so we're good to go.
HEALTH.
I have a surgery appointment on the 4th of November. Thing is, I may not need to take it so that's currently up in the air. I'll do a more dedicated journal about this at a later date.
UPLOADS.
Finally going to queue some of those pictures up, and get things rolling. It's been so busy with my part-time job (which I quit because low income), my family dropping by to visit, the Discord fiasco, and all the tech issues. Uploading pics was low in my list of priorities.
Not anymore!
CONCLUSION.
Thank you guys for your patience, and your support. All the comments I read in my work, from the most sincere to the goofiest (which are also sincere), cheered me up during the harshest days. Thank you for sharing my artwork, it means the world to me.
