Not quite a fur myself, but I have many friends who are and I've come to be pretty familiar with the subculture over the years. (Though some would argue that the fact I like anthro art and appreciate a well-made fursuit makes me a furry in and of itself. As you will.) Plus I'm going to be vending at Furlandia in Portland this May (10th - 12th, for those curious), so...close enough?
I'm an artist, nonfic author, and wannabe polymath living in Portland, OR. I'm a neoshaman and neopagan, polyamorous, geeky, and outdoorsy. I make stuff out of animal remains, beads, and other such things as part of my spiritual practice (and FWIW, I am 100% European mutt, so none of my work can be considered Native American). I'm also entirely self-taught; I took a few art classes in high school and college, but they were really basic and dealt more with traditional media like painting and drawing.
No, I don't hunt. Most of what I work with is reclaimed or recycled in some manner, and you're welcome to ask me questions. (There's also a good run-down of what I do at http://therioshamanism.com/2013/02/.....dead-critters/ .) While I am self-employed and the bulk of the money I make from art and book sales goes to paying the bills, I do donate a portion of the funds to nonprofit groups that benefit wildlife and their habitats; it's a practice I've kept up since I started this in the mid-1990s.
I sell most of what I make; if you're interested in what's currently available, please wander over to http://thegreenwolf.etsy.com (you can also find my books on pagan and magical topics there, too!)
The site for All Things Lupa is http://www.thegreenwolf.com .
Also, my mood is set as "amused" as I realized the selection of emotions was stolen from Livejournal, which I've been on for a decade.
