Greetings Furries!

As some of you may already know, the famous Berkley Hyena Colony is in trouble. Their funding has been cut, and now the lives of dozens of Spotted Hyenas lies in the balance. If you haven't heard of the Berkley Colony, it is a research facility that concentrated on studying various biological and social aspects of Crocuta crocuta, the Spotted Hyena. It was the world's largest captive hyena colony, and the only research center of it's kind. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the staff and scientists, many of the mysteries of this wonderful species have been uncovered and we've learned a great deal. The Berkley Colony has made leaps and bounds in helping undo the undeserved, negative reputation hyenas have had to carry for hundreds of years, and highlight their intelligence, complex social structure and predatory power.

Unfortunately the Colony has lost their funding and without help many of these amazing creatures could end up being put to sleep if new homes can't be found for them. While many of them have already been accepted at zoos or sanctuaries, many more are still in grave danger.

By making a donation or buying an offered commission here (or from some of the other amazing artists who are also chipping in to help) the Colony can hopefully remain open long enough to place all the animals in new homes.
