Zjonni is a furry dino and fogey. A furry artist of the eighties and early nineties, Zjonni attended numerous furry parties in the early to mid-80s. Zjonni helped put together and put on Confurence Zero. Zjonni remembers when the fandom was so small that everyone knew each other and there were only three people named 'Fox' in it (Celon, Robert, and Zjonni) and they all juggled (For a while it was Rule: all foxes juggled.). Zjonni published the perfect-bound furry fanzine 'Steam Victorian' in the early 90s and lost a few grand doing it, but damn, it looked good and was a fun experience. Zjonni was on DARPAnet before there was 'internet' and a promiscuous UseNetter before there was html, and was also on FurryMUCK waaaay back when you couldn't walk five steps away from the West Corner of the Park in a straight line, because there was Nothing There ™. Zjonni has been a cook, an artist, a writer, a teacher of martial arts, a hacker, a gunsmith, and a general-life guru. Zjonni used to describe himself as a jack-of-all-trades but has learned that he has mastered a few, including the art of the tuna casserole and wor-chicken soup. He is also highly skilled at cat-petting and sleeping in the sun.
Zjonni does not assume any of this experience means he knows what color the sky is going to be tomorrow, though. He considers wisdom to be the things he has learned from other people.
...Sometimes he can even remember enough of it to pass along.
Once in a long while, Zjonni still draws things. Sometimes he even decides to show them to people. Possibly some new ones will crop up here, but most of what you will see (at least at first) is back-dated a decade and more.
I AM NOT AVAILABLE FOR COMMISSION. Just to make it clear. :) I draw almost nothing these days (that may change, hopefully) and until that changes enough that I am comfortable drawing for myself, I certainly won't be risking the obligation and mental pressures of drawing for others. Sorry about that.

That was a lot more art than I thought.
So, yeah...I found a folder crammed in the back of my closet full of art that I thought had been lost and gone forever...And you get to share in my rediscovery of all my old CRAP! Okay, I severely limited how much of the REALLY old crap I posted, but there is some in there...
This is a range of stuff from 1983 to 1995, which is kind of when my drawing hand fell off the face of the earth. It's illustrations for stories, random scribbles, pieces of unfinished art...Whatever looked good enough to share.

In other news...One nice thing about seeing my crap from 1983 is that I can see what I'm doing now is scribbly and awful but not so scribbly and awful as I was way back then. Right now I'm gonna guess that I'm about on par with my 1988-1989 work, right before the big jump I made in 1990-1991.
Pirates, pinups, vikings, vixens in space...A little bit of everything. Some more artwork from the Revar stories, and also I found a full-size print of the Shiraj portrait, so I was able to scan that and improve on the itty-bitty little piece.
I've gone from thirteen pieces of art to, uh...Fifty-six?!
Next month my goal is to have at least one scribble done that I'm pleased to put up that is dated TWO THOUSAND SEVEN.
