This is an arrangement of the music from the C64 version of 'Monty on the Run', a wonderful game from 1986 by Peter Harrap (With Rob Hubbard's amazing score on the C64 port). While replaying it recently I got it into my head that it might be a good idea to do a cover of it.
There's a couple of other versions on FA, but they seem to veer towards Drum'n'Bass. Mine tries to stay faithful to the original while at the same time expanding upon it.
There are some things which could be improved still, and if you were to play the C64 version and mine side by side at the same time you'd spot a couple of places where they don't quite line up, but overall I'm very pleased with the result.
Equipment used:
Creamware Minimax (bass and lead)
Waldorf Pulse (intro sound)
Roland MVS-1 (bass, Prophet brass)
Korg Triton (Drums, string synth, intro sound)
Cheetah MS6 (intro sound)
...and of course the Tornado 'Tron.
Recording was done in the TASCAM MSR-24, mixed to the Studer A807.

Thanks. It was fun to do, though at the time I was rather worried as to whether it was a good idea in the first place. For a long time I was stuck trying to do the "boring solo section" about halfway in, which was frustrating because the beginning was very good and the end had potential, though it was extremely difficult to get that final arpeggiation right, even after playing the original back at half speed.
I'm glad I finally got there, and it seems to have gone down rather well.
