I decided that instead of just thinking about what I'm looking for all the time, I'd try to put some of my thoughts into words. I don't know the exact qualities I'm looking for in a mate, but I decided to get the important personality stuff out of the way before I get into what I like from a visual/character design perspective, lest people mistake my priorities as they often do.
Ponies were the only visuals I could think of for showing the virtues I want without being able to actually demonstrate them. So I hastily doodled my favorite ponies without any references.
I probably come across at least a little creepy.
