“Those who keep trying are those who more that often succeed”
The quote rings true For Tobias (Toby) Macklin. Born and raised in Chattanooga, Toby had an ambition to play for the FBA from the time he started playing with the kids at school during Recess. It wasn’t until High School that things got slippery. His freshmen year he tried out for the basketball team to no avail. He asked his coach for advice on how he can improve, he said try again next year. He worked his tail to the bone for a year and tried out again his sophomore year. He asked the coach why again. This time the coach replied with “I have no use for an amphibian”. His dreams of one day playing for a team like the Thrust or Typhoons were slipping badly, but Toby wouldn’t give up that easily. With a little help from his parents, he talked to the school and the school board and demanded a chance to play on the Varsity team. Junior and senior year he helped lead his team to the state championship. Upon graduating, Toby received a full scholarship to Florida Everglade where he’s been working hard to rise up to the standards of the FBA and enter his name in the FBA draft.
