Taken from Fox's submission: (here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/10503140/ )
A song I always loved when I was younger and a little something I wanted to do as a rendition of with the very talented singer, lilypad.
It makes me think and feel so good knowing I can travel 16,000km to Australia... Yet people are so warm and friendly here that I feel as if I'd never left home... So thank you to everyone <3.
Myself and the amazing alectorfencer collab'd this and she created some deep artwork to go with it: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10503155/
Be who you wanna be... - Fox Amoore, Lilypad, AlectorFencer.
Original song written by Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly.
Waited a while to hear this done and am glad I got to hear it after weeks of wondering how it'd turn out~!
I've actually never liked the way this has been sung in the past, so when I got asked to hop on board for this cover I wasn't sure I would enjoy it. However, I really did. It was a pleasure to have a go at this, and I am quite happy with how I sung it.
I want to answer all the comments on Fox's submission; thanking people for all the kindness in their feedback. I am blown away by the reception this cover has gotten so far. I feel so relieved, I was so nervous about this one but I loved singing it my own way. I am so glad that the emotion I put in this has been a success. Thank you Fox for asking me to do this with you and congratulations on another splendid "backing" piece (I always use the term loosely as it seems a bit modest!).
Hope you guys enjoy it.

Fox is a truly talented and gifted composer first. As such, like any talented and gifted composer, he has that amazing ear, to hear someone, or something, and know exactly where it fits. He has heard in your voice a characteristic, a clarity and quality, that he knows will fit perfectly in a variety of places. This song is one such example, your voice is a perfect fit, and his composition provides the perfect backdrop to your voice.
That, and you aren't afraid to put something of yourself in what you sing. You don't hold back. And you truly live what Fox always says, "Don't just listen, feel." You feel, and you take us along for that ride, and for that, we give a standing ovation *does so, on his own at home, but knows he isn't alone*.

He is a very talented individual whom I look up to when it comes to composition and skill. I wish I was like him in that sense, but I've never put my whole heart into music. It's due to being discouraged when growing up, having my parents moan about me singing so I sort of suppressed the desire to. I am glad that now I can freely express it better and that FA has given me so much confidence and support over the years to help me explore what my voice can do. I love Fox's music very much and I can hardly believe he would want me for these pieces. Honestly, it's a bit odd to think how many people have heard me sing now! :)
Anyways, sorry went off on a tangent there. I do REALLY appreciate you taking time to listen, and then comment to such an extent. I am very grateful and am thrilled that I could be emotive with my voice. I have only recently begun to learn to be emotive with my voice, and I am so glad it's working.
Thank you!! :)!

Whenever I hear you do a cover, I try to think of what the original sounds like. I can never hear them the same after you do them as you do such an amazing job with such an amazing voice. :) And I really needed to hear your voice like this as I was having a real frustrating day until I clicked "play". Thank you for being you and sharing your talents with the rest of us. *hugs*
Still want to hear a cover of Motorhead or something similar though. :p

For me personally it wasn't so much Cyndi Lauper's voice since I like the sound of her other songs "All Through The Night", "Time After Time", and "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun". There was something else I can't remember that made me feel turned off from this song. Now that you've sung it so elegantly along with Foxy's masterful composition and Alector's beautiful artwork, all together you've made this song as lovely as could be.
You really gave this song a new life. It was rather disturbing at first, because Cindis version has manifested in the ears over years.
But hell, your version may not be as mainstream and therefore might not be as successful, but I am tempted to say it's the better one.
When this is published, I will truly bye it, although i already have it downloaded, but i like to honor your work. the work of all three of yours.
Great collab!

I haven't heard many versions of the song, but I never liked Cyndi's version much. I am very pleased you enjoyed it so much. It's nice to hear the song as a gentle piece with piano and strings easing it along. I tried to put my heart into singing it, and to believe the lyrics. The reception has been great for this cover, I am very honoured by the excitement that it has gotten from people and I am also happy that I got chosen to sing so many of Fox's covers.
Thank you so much for listening, and for the wonderful compliment of wanting to pay for this sort of work from us :)

I have to say such an amazing voice my dear, and would care to ask if you would mind if i used this song for a non-profit video? I personally like to ask permission before using other's work to help my own work, and if you would like me I could ask Mr. Amoore as well to make sure he is okay with this idea.
