Taken right before the storm clouds rolled in. Very quiet little babe, gentle and curious, keeps poking his nose into things he shouldn't!
This precious angel is as adorable as he is all thanks to Phoenix-Cry's skilled hand (found here: http://phoenix-cry.deviantart.com/ ). Fully poseable this tiny coon is still quite young (it's sibling that came with was much smaller but was not fully mountable)
Please keep in mind that, like all of my taxidermy pieces, I handle them respectfully and with care. I have them as a textile reference to help me improve upon my artisan and traditional art. While pictures are a wonderful resource, it will always miss the fine details that you get to experience and see in person.
I understand everyone has their own opinion about death and I respect that. Please respect mine and not leave rude, crude, or otherwise flaming comments as they will be ignored. actually, generally this species of raccoon is not farmed. finnish and asiatic raccoons are the two big types, neither of which even have a striped tail. so we can be pretty sure this was from a hunter or found in the wild already dead [i dont say roadkill cause roadkill tends to mangle a pelt]
We've got a coon that's been killing our chickens the past couple of day's. Last night he nabbed one of our big, mean roosters!
At first we thought it was a Coyote because of how big he seemed to be.
We went out with flash lights and saw his eye reflection and I swear he was to my hip in size.
Anyway's hopefully I'll have a coon pelt soon haha. :D
The coon also doesnt seem to be scared of people, which is bad because he is now a danger to the children in the area, plus he killed 5 of our chikens and were already doing bad on eggs this spring...
