Bio: Lucien was born a slave in the kingdom of Crystalus to a human mother and elven father. As he grew into young adulthood, his attractiveness lead to him being taken and groomed as a pleasure/companion slave. Despite being raised in slavery and trained to be obedient and submissive, when the time came to perform his first "service", he struck the man who'd paid for him with a light crystal and fled. He turned to thievery to survive and made his way across the Crystalus/Rocreach border to the province of Blackmarch where a noble rumored to help free escaped slaves lived. When he made his way to Blackwater, he was granted asylum by the Marquess, the savior of which the rumors had spoken.

When the noble he'd assaulted and his former masters came looking for him shortly after his arrival, seeking revenge and the return of their property, Sylvan, bound by international laws and treaties, purchased the young slave and officially freed him right in front of them. She then had the men escorted from her lands by armed guards to ensure that they made it to the border safely and left as instructed.

Lucien, free for the first time in his life, settled in Blackwater and found the community to be quite supportive: the city was founded by freed slaves who welcomed all new arrivals with open arms and a helping hand to adjust to life as freedmen. He got a job working at the local tavern, The Rearing Unicorn, his natural people skills making him an excellent bartender and his good looks and flirty nature garnering him plenty of tips from men and women alike.

As one of the few other elves in Blackwater, Gavin struck up a friendship with Lucien not long after his arrival. The more time they spent together the closer they became until their friendship blossomed into something more. Gavin was as protective of his lover as he was any other member of his family group and showered him with all of the love and affection he had, and the two were often seen together when they weren't working.
