Please excuse the fuzzy cell phone picture and messy carpet.
This is the result of Tail Blank Mold: Take 1. I learned a whole lot about casting expanding foam from making it, but unfortunately I'm going to have to start over. I cast the foam like an ice cream cone with the wide end being the opening, which resulted in foam collapsing and foam not filling the entire mold properly. Next time, I will have the opening be much smaller at the tip of the tail. When that mold is done, I'll do a more complete write-up on what I've learned.
I still managed to get one decent pull before I ran out of expanding foam. It didn't fill the entire mold cavity so it's a little short, but still pretty OK. I am using it to test out new techniques, including adding a furry mohawk. (Who likes SPARKLE FUR??? :D!!)
--Materials used--
Flex Foam-It! III from Smooth-On
Polar Fleece (to smooth it all out; this was not a pretty cast :/)
Lycra Spandex in... teal? I think it's teal. I got it during their moving sale.
2" nylon webbing. Next tail I make I want to try putting the loops in the base of the tail so it sits higher.

SO AWESOMEEEEEE. AAAAHHHHHHH!! I'll never get over how much I love your suit pieces!
I also really love how you're experimenting with all these new, original techniques. I've pretty much never heard of people using expanding foam for fursuit work, and I'm really excited to see how well this idea works! c:
BEST OF LUCK WITH ALL YOUR TESTING, MAN! I sincerely hope that, someday, I'll have the chance to own an awesome creation of yours!!
