Remember the journal I wrote a few weeks back about my experiment with links to the WIP's - Well here is the final result. Needless to say it took me a while and I am really happy with the way it turned out.
So I decided to play around with a bit of media; I watercoloured the background then went over with two different brands of colour pencil on the creatures and plants but left most of the background as just water colour paints, with a few pencil touch ups here and there.
The scanner kinda left some little odd patches on it (I need to get my own) but other than that I'd love to hear what you guys think of this. :D

This is very nice indeed!
I think the inclusion of the watercolour background is perfect. Not only does it offer a soft, non-intrusive colour, it also suits the scene :3
In addition, I really like how the underwater plants and the Merlocian's tail were done. It feels like this scene is underwater ^^ Additional kudos to how you did the Merlocian herself, she looks very good!
To give some constructive criticism, first, I think I see some construction lines on the tail of the fish, that don't really seem to blend in with the rest of it - though this might be a scanner problem. Additionally, I'd advise doing some shading on the Merlocian's body, since especially around her torso it seems a bit flat.
Otherwise, wonderful piece Rixie, I love it, and the time and love you put into it really shows :3

Thanks so much or the comment hun~
As for he shading, there is some there but the scanner seems to have blended it in .. stupid scanner. I'm bringing the original to the main meet so people can see it in person if they wish to see it :D
I might get to work on more of these as a lot of people have made good comments in person and on facebook where I previewed the WIP's (I think my phone did a better job than the scanner tbh XD)
