This is a very special sculpture done for one of my dearest friends, Cerine(http://cerine.deviantart.com/). :) I have known Cerine since early high school. She has always been an incredible artist, and throughout high school she was one of my biggest encouragements to keep drawing and pushing my art. After high school we ended up drifting apart, and I lost contact for several years. One of my greatest joys of getting into sculpting and becoming involved in the art community again was that I ended up finding Cerine again and we were able to rekindle our friendship! This sculpture is a thank you gift for all the encouragement she has and continues to give me on my artistic journey. <3

This piece is based on one of Cerine's very own drawings. Ever since I saw it I knew I just had to sculpt this adorable horse! It was quite fun to try an mimic the cute style of the piece and attempt to capture the same feel that the original drawing had. There are still some things about it that I'm not 100% happy with, but all in all I think it turned out pretty cute. :) You can view the original deviation here:

As always I forgot to measure this little horse before mailing him out, but he measures somewhere between 1-2in tall. He is made from Super Sculpey/Sculpey Firm polymer clay and Apoxie Sculpt over a wire and foil armature, painted with acrylics and sealed with a satin finish. He is mounted on a tiny wooden base that has been painted and glazed.
