In a period of calm from the second tornado outbreak (VORTEX II: The Winds from Hell), a third tornado outbreak looms for Ohioans once again. But this time it takes place at night, a period that is too dangerous for even the most suicidal storm chaser to tackle.
With Newark's warning system damaged and the high efficiency weather radar in another town disabled, the area is completely blind to what lurks at night by mother nature. Determined to save lives, Rob puts his life with his storm chasing veteran friend Trevor to try and provide a early warning system with the help of their friends.
