My mischievous nature wants to dub this "Jeanne b'Ark".
BUT THAT WOULD BE SILLY RIGHT
Digital painting study based around a silly whim and the painting by Harold H. Piffard (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped.....oan_of_arc.jpg)
Just to be on the safe side: This is not intended to be a parody or a mockery of the original painting or Joan of Arc. I just thought it was a cute idea. Initially I just had the idea that a cocker spaniel would kinda make for a cool anthro lady knight with the ears for a hairdo, but I wanted to do more realistic painting practice, so guess who comes up 99% of the time when you look for classic paintings of a woman in armor.
Done completely in SAI, roughly 10 hours total.
Not totally happy with how the lighting and tones on her head came out, but considering that this is not part of the original painting and that's kinda the first cocker spaniel head I painted in a realistic style like, ever, I think the result is pretty decent.
