What strikes me about this piece is the left shot of him holding his sword arm, suggesting he's wounded. It shows him to be vulnerable, and his enraged expression makes him look dangerous. These are nice contrasts to his masculine and heroic images, which shows him to be a well rounded and interesting character. That's quite a lot in a single sketch.
