Few people are as clever as Xanatos. And, risking going full Comic Book Guy (or Sheldon Cooper), Riker is a trained Starfleet officer. That's a high standard to live up to.

I noticed that when I drew him originally as a human. I'm not sure why that is.

Dev also showed me the early seasons when Riker had no beard. I guess I had blocked that from my memory, but I was sufficiently horrified.

I think it's the eyes.

Riker was only beardless in the first season. And the jump in the show's quality following the beard caused tvtropes to name the phenomenon "Growing the Beard."

Which is weird, since I can't draw celebrities when I want to!

My window of opportunity for facial hair has probably passed. A rare weekend with nothing to do and nowhere to go lead to not shaving and led to discovering more gray facial hair than I'm comfortable with.

TBQH, I had no idea either, but Nate's kinda greyish and I thought that'd look weird as a human. Then again, he's kinda punk-looking so he can probably dye it however he likes XD

I think he could have totally bleached+frosted it .. But bleached hair is a bit 2002 :P

I can kind of see his point. Cody has a manly jawline as a cute kitty, but it's not quite as extreme as Doug's lantern jaw of justice.
