Ooooh, this "Selfie" really stands out, Sea! You managed to pack a lot of personality into this small portrait through multiple articles of clothing and accessories, which, with the help of your playfully realistic art-style, brings out a "natural flair" in the character. =D
It must be tough deciding the best pose for these, since you can only work with so much space, but I believe the posture you chose here is ideal: not only were you able to draw in one arm, you had the space to give it aesthetic purpose; the silly action of holding up a small box with a smiley face drawn on it above your head (as if it were a hat) is downright adorable! The box also contributes to the multiple "dark, scribble patches of shading" that offset the portrait's brighter colors. The angle of the character's head and closeness of the photo allow us to clearly see the words printed underneath the cap's visor, along with more scribble shading. And we can even partially see the face on the top of the cap! Including the partially visible face on the shirt, it's as if the picture has four faces: the box, the cap, the shirt and the dog himself! I really do enjoy that depth.
Wrapping up my excitement, I want to compliment the way you drew the glasses. The frames appear very simple, yet you tweaked how the viewer perceives the lenses; it's as if everything behind the lenses is phased out, drained of color almost, like it's trying to be erased. That effect is really striking, and almost serves as a focal point for the picture because it contrasts both the dark shading and bright colors. Very stylish! The dog's facial expression is fantastic, as I believe nothing shows a canine's "joy" more than a wide open, smiling muzzle with a lolling tongue! And finally, comfy earphones around the neck for more style points!
I overdid my comment again...but I enjoy typing out such detailed criticism where it's due. =)
Stay cool, Sea!
