Just a lil' sketch of my character, Skye.
Some info:
Name: Maxwell Skye Phoenix
Age: 4
Species: Mouse
Personality: He is very smart, and often likes to play up on that fact, often trying to act more mature than he really is (and failing). He's very friendly and cheerful, and although he can be shy to strangers, he's not afraid to help out adults or his peers when they need it.
Likes: Food (but especially cookies and things that go "crunch!"), juice, video games, playing pretend and dress up, being praised for his intelligence, trains, and he claims to be grown-up like and that he likes the news...but always falls asleep.
Dislikes: Being called by his first name, being called short or any variation of such, having accidents, and getting tummyaches due to eating too much

I do love these descriptions. Really brings the character to life. The writing of them flows well and keeps the mental images popping in over-and-over, too.
His traits are pretty spot on for a kid his age, too. Fantasy is fun, but characters who do have a level of believability are the best. As I learned in school, "You go to movies to willfully suspend your perspective of reality. However, it can only be done to a certain degree before the mind simply won't believe what it is being shown."
Great start!

Thanks! I love it when people write characters realistically. Unfortunately a lot of people here don't do that, or worse, just use a character as a personification of their fetish and not give any thought to how that would actually go in a more realistic manner.
For me, I try to keep my characters as realistic as I can, while still putting in a little bit of fantasy =)
