The Curataur
[Cure-ah-tar] from Latin: curator(guardian) taurus(bull)
Summons:
• Every curataur acquires a summons.
• A summons is a calling toward a specific field.
• A curataur is called to be a watcher and protector of a specific field and to guide those within it.
• A curataur’s summons effects their physical characteristics, coat pattern and color.
Physical Attributes:
• The average coat among subspecies consists of point markings. (i.e. Siamese, Ragdoll, Bernese mountain dog, etc.)
• Appearance is described as a mixture between canine, feline, bovine, and caprine characteristics.
• Horns that adorn curataurs are three times stronger than steel and score between eight and nine on the Mohs scale.
• All sexes are identical in size and both grow horns.
Behavior:
• Proper and regal animals, curataur prefer to be clean and will often be found grooming.
• Friendly, playful, and curious, they often will make games out of their environment to entertain themselves.
• Curataur are solitary creatures but are often seen making bonds with other species.
• They are not quick to trust, and if one desires to befriend one, time and care must be priority.
• They are inherently protective and loyal when they nurture a bond with another creature.
• Curataurs are a crepuscular species.
Reproduction and Development:
• All subspecies have a low birthrate due to their solitary nature.
• Due to their widespread habitat, curataurs have the ability to adapt to either female or male for procreation if need be.
• The pair will court each other for over a year until the submissive develops the nutrients in its body to carry a cub.
• The male organ is extremely dexterous. It is made up of thick muscle and lacks a baculum. The female organ is a small hole that curves into the body and down to connect to the uterus.
• The stimulation of intimacy with a partner promotes fertility in the submissive.
• Pregnancy lasts for an average of 60 weeks.
• One to two cubs are the average litter size.
• Curataurs are a precocial species.
• They are born and begin development with a pure white coat and dark eyes.
• Color develops between 20 to 30 years of age, beginning as a light pastel and darkening to its proper color until maturity.
• Horns begin development between 30 and 40 years of age. Around this time a curataur discovers its summons and begins showing signs of development toward that field.
• Full sexual maturity is reached between 50 and 60 years of age. At this point horns and body will be fully developed and stop growing.
• As long as a curataur honors its summons, it does not age and will not die. However, curataurs can still be killed by extreme bodily harm.
