Yeah, guys, halloween is near, and what's the best way to celebrate it for me? Damn straight, making an undead, soul-eating character for my dimensional arc! This is Thanazoi, a member of an undead species of mine called "Fedarechia Lideadi" or "Feda-Lide", wich would mean "Soul-Eater" in Mikaruian. They are very rare, undead Tirrdaka. Don't worry, everything will be explained in this ref. I also may either write or draw a short refference of the Feda-Lide species, too, so if something isn't said here, it will be explained there.

I've had this character in my head for quite some time already, and I think he has become one of my favourite characters. I have so much to say about him, i think this will be the most I'll ever write in a refference pic. And I still won't be able to cover all of his personality! Well, if you still have questions, ask!

Also, could one classify him as a soul-vore character or something??? I don't know, he's actually intended to be a non-fetish character and stuff but yeah.

Name: Thanazoi Sokapayara

Species: Fedarechia Lideadi (Tayian/Light Elemental)

Age: Was 25 when he died, would be around 800 years old now.

Personality: coquettish, polite, quiet, a bit vain, but can be quite friendly too, has a "unique" sense of justice


Before death, Thanazoi was an Otherworld Tirrdaka, born as a different creature in a different World. Eventually, he visited the dimension N-DR|05, Illiad to be accurate, and, upon beeing exposed to a lot of Shadow-Ena, became a Tayian Tirrdaka. Shortly after that, he decided to live in N-DR|05. After some time, living in Illiad, he decided to live a simple live on N-DR|05's Earth. However, since Earth still was in the dark ages back then, and since he easily would be mistaken for something like a demon by the religious folks, he decided to live a reclusive life in a forest.

One day, however, he met a human girl who he had several conversations with, while hiding from her. Eventually, they fell in love with each other, even though the girl never saw his face. This lead to his decision to show her his face, even if she might think he was a demon and reject him. The girl, on the other hand, surprisingly said that, despite his demonic looks, he couldn't be a demon because he had such a kind heart. The two eventually proposed to each other, but then, Thanazoi was stabbed and killed by an unknown person, in front of his fiancee's eyes. This was the last thing he could remember before waking up as a Feda-Lide, several days later. Unlike most Feda-Lide, he actually kept most of his original personality, instead of becomic sadistic, "evil" or agressive upon death. Actually, he's quite friendly if you can get known to him.

What followed were several years of isolation and loneliness. Beeing too scared to approach his love after coming back to "life", he lived a much more isolated life in the woods, for a couple of hundred years. After a while, he eventually grew hungry for souls. He then took the souls of several wanderers that got lost in his forest. However, the only souls that he ever actually kept for himself or that he destroyed by draining it of all it's energy after devouring, were the souls of criminals, murderers and other people that he deemed "evil", that went into his forest. For Thanazoi, this is a kind of punishment. Especially after beeing murdered himself, he felt the need to do "justice". Innocent wanderers, on the other hand, had more luck with him. He gives their souls back, after he drained enough energy for himself, usually only after a few hours. During that, he does his best to take care of their, still breathing and living, but soulless bodies. Also, he tries to make this process as pleasant as possible, for his innocent "victims".

Eventually, after hundres of years, he met a certain person who got lost in that Forest: Marcel Mejouro Kei-Rhai. At first, Marcel was quite scared of him, but they eventually started to grow on each other. Kashi, Marcel's half-brother, eventually even met him too and gave him a travel-cloak, inspired by the current bandage-fashion that's currently popular in Illiad, so that Thanazoi may sometimes leave his forest without drawing too much attention to himself or causing a mass panic.


Other things:

- His entire skull is filled with Shadow-ena. Only his eyesockets have tiny spots of Light-Ena, replacing his eyes.

- Despite beeing dead for hundres of years, a lot of his body still isn't decayed. This may be because of certain Ena-Spells he used on himself.

- Like all Feda-Lide, he can only live off organic Ena, coming from souls, and not off non-organic Ena from Ena-Crystals, like Shadow-Walkers can do. And even if he keeps souls for some time, his own soul becomes used to them and needs a little more Ena than before. While on one hand, the more souls he has the less souls he needs to devour in a timespan, this "growing used to souls" is why he needs to devour souls, every now and then. However, if he gives souls back after a short period of time, his own soul can't get used to them, but still gets the same amount of Energy to "live" off.

- The reason because Thanazoi kept his original personality, even after death, may be because that, instead of most Feda-Lide that are created because of anger at their murderer or because the trauma of death was great enough to dissort their souls, he may actually have been brought back from death because of his love to his fiancee.

- Thanazoi is a very polite, almost scarily gentlemanlish personality. For example, he always refers to women (at least women he isn't close to) as "lady" or "madame" and usually compliments them, a lot. Especially women who remind him of his fiancee. He's also been seen complimenting guys, albeit it beeing less frequent. He also is quite flirty, despite beeing dead.

- Aside from the Kei-Rhai family, he doesn't have many friends. His only other relationships probably are the souls he still owns. Even though he "punished" them, by taking their bodies and lives, he thinks that most of them have learned their lessons and even cares for them.

- As an undead beeing, he's almost invincible. However, the spot at his back where he was killed is his weak point. If you keep attacking it, it can knock him out or could even kill him off for real, if he's very unlucky.

- Speaking of the stab-wound, it also starts to hurt, when he becomes "hungry" for souls. The more he needs to devour soul, the more it hurts. It can even start to hurt so much that he may even become crazy, until he finally devoured a soul. This only happened one time before, shortly after he became a Feda-Lide. This is the only state where he, despite still having his own personality, is almost as dangerous as other Feda-Lide.

- He still can eat solid foodstuff, as most of his internal organs are still mostly "intact". However, he doesn't gain anything from it.

- When alive, his fur was a lot lighter. However, with time it became very dirty and dark.

- He loves to make lame jokes about his death. Examples are "My, my, I'd certainly would have a heart attack right now... If it still was beating!" or "Well, look into my eyes!... Wait, I don't have eyes, anymore! Ha!"

- He also loves to comment on the smell of one's soul. He may even go into detail of how it may taste like to him. Most of the time, he thinks of it as a compliment, and doesn't actually plan on devouring it.
