You'd think so, wouldn't you? But no: The series' creator was Keith Chapman, who used to work for Jim Henson International and is best known for Bob the Builder. The series' developer was Scott Kraft, best known for The Fresh Beat Band. So no particular notability in furry fandom prior to this series.
