At long last here's Jasdesi!
This was my first attempt at creating a fursuit. It took me a long time to make her (like the better part of 3 months) but l learned a lot along the way (like how to use a sewing machine for starters). Every part of making this suit was new to me, so hopefully I'll get faster with practice.
Making Jas and bringing her to like has also proven to me that I really love working with my hands and building wearable costumes. In light of that I plan on opening my own fur suit business sometime in the coming year. Jasdesi isn't perfect by any means but I am proud that I was able to follow through with making her.
I plan on adding wool dreadlocks to her head eventually. Jasdesi will serve as the centerpiece for my upcoming gallery exhibition in February called "Bringing Out The Animal In Me".

I definitely feel the best designs are the ones we take a while to ponder over :) I can dig certain 2 color designs (like I adore Shineyfighter and red sergals) but why not play with it more? Sure you and I wouldn't likely fit into the world of Vilous, but having these designs are just so much fun!
That sounds likely to me. When I started making Jas I originally imagined a northern sergal who left Raine's army and was in hiding, essentially. She was a lot plainer looking (and actually brown with freckles). But once I decided I wanted to make a serval fur suit to correspond with the character, I just went crazy with her design! I wanted something really eye catching :) And green serval dominance sounds great to me!
Thank you!!!! I kinda did this one on a budget, so I couldn't quite use as many furs as I wanted and that meant a lot more shaving had to be done later. But all of my fur is one length in different colors from distinctive fabrics (http://www.distinctivefabric.com/fa.....=EXTRALONGFUR1) I went with this since it meant the fur would be nice and long on say the ankles and elbows. But if you've got more cash to throw around they also have a shorter solid long fur that has a much thicker pile, so less worry about the backing showing through and less shaving.
But yeah, for fur suiting on the cheap distinctive fabrics (under the long pile fur section) is the best place to go. Also if you're a member you get free swatches (super do this, so you know exactly what you want!)
Hope this helped, I look forward to seeing another sergal suiter around!

Ohh I'm digging your sergal's design, gonna love seeing it as a suit one day! (red sergals are my faves but I couldn't think of a design I liked!). Fabric.com is pretty good for some difficult-to-find colors (like they had an ivory and royal blue I loved) but yeah if Distinctive has the colors that work go with them. The shipping is gonna be a pain (It was for me too, despite being a lot closer, pretty sure they're canadian), but such is fur suit-making. And DVC masks are where its at! :D I got mine as a pre made from Anthrocon, so it already had the eyes, jaws, and tongue installed <3 I was so lucky to get that. Shipping will be costly from them too, but I've noticed they fill orders way faster than expected. I've ordered other jaws, claws, and pawpads from them and they're great to work with!
You're very welcome! Let me know if there's anything else I can help with. I'm still learning to make fur suits but hopefully I can be of some use!
