This guy's a gift from
snarkpuff
He's a moofie, I can give you snarkpuff's explanation in a moment.
Name- Sarterrin (sawr-TAIR-en)
Gender- male
Age- 20
Species- moofie
Worships- Jamoke (jay-moh-kay), God Of Death
Extremely intelligent, like Kidam'Anno, Sarterrin seldom does anything without a logical base, and will rarely let something illogical prevent him from achieving his ends- he has a brutal capacity to THINK around, over, under, or through any problem or opposition he faces- a trait well suited to his warrior status. He is more observational than talkative, and when he sees an error in someone's actions outside of the battlefield, he does not correct them, he simply watches as they suffer from their folly and learns from their mistake. He is excellent at observing interactions between people and predicting outcomes, though he has had extremely little social interaction himself. Despite his insensitive, lonely demeanor, he has given deep thought to the meaning and absolution of death- thus he understands the value of life, and treasures it above all things, leading to his decision to become a warrior- he cares for all life, though he does not show it, and strives to protect life wherever it stands. Gandalf once said, "True bravery is not knowing when to take a life, but when to spare it." And in this regard, Sarterrin has a lion's heart. Never wanting to believe that death is the only option, Sarterrin believes his true duty as a soldier is to save lives from the inevitable clutches of death, knowing they must be treasured while they last.
The Moofie are a tribe of canine creatures that are very much connected with nature and can possess a variety of abilities given to them by their masks when they mature. Most are born tricksters but not typically do they care to see anyone hurt.
They can be found in a wide range of shades; blonds, creams, greys, browns, blacks, reds, but the rarest is full white. The fur is thick, and very fluffy. Females tend to have the sleeker, softer fur than the males.
Moofie are monogamous, meaning they will only mate once. Upon the death of one, the other will soon follow. A Moofie can love either the opposite or the same gender as itself. Maturity is reached at 10 years old. Females have one litter a year and have about 3 moofs. Living a maximum of 200 years, a female can have up to 570 moofs in their lifetime. Unfortunately, only maybe 50 will survive to reach maturity due to predators, illness, starvation, and fierce sibling rivalry.
They create their own masks when they reach maturity. The designs are all unique to their wearer, ranging from simple to very complex, but all cover the eyes. Females always have a gem placed somewhere upon the mask. When a Moofie makes their mask, they go into the forest and sit quietly alone, awaiting a spirit to guide them to the chosen tree and in what to paint. The coming of age ceremony is held in the den of the Alpha partnership once a year. During which the newly masked Moofie is brought before the tribe's shaman who shares which God or Goddess they are to follow. Visible with the color and shape of the ear piercing. The ceremony is suppose to represent not only the youngster’s maturity but also the renewal and re strengthening of all the masks together. They enjoy a well gathered feast of kill as well as singing and dancing. A Moofie after the coming of age ceremony will make sure that nothing will ever see their eyes. For the spirits will strip them of their power and mind, cursing the Moofie to be reduced to a thoughtless beast that knows nothing but killing.
Although talented fighters, most Moofies would much rather tease the enemy than strike.
A soldier would follow either Ashkenaz, Jamoke, or Takashi. Depending on their personalitity.
Ashkenaz soldiers would be in it for the glory. To have their name spoke throughout the tribe. A little on the rude side but observant and hardworking. They are known for their traditional, kill-all-who-oppose warfare.
Jamoke soldiers know the meaning of death and have a great deal of mercy. They are very intelligent and are usually the strategists.
Takashi soldiers are experts in ambushes, sabotage, and hit and run techniques. They are the best spies and assassins.
