...was I adopted or switched at birth?
Nah! Seriously though, sometimes it feels like I'm as different from the rest of my family as a cat is from a dog. Meh. These thoughts cross my mind every so often, so I figured I'd turn them into art.
So, here's the Who's Who:
Top left: Dad, mail carrier, showing signs of alopecia (male pattern baldness). Drawn as a yellow Labrador Retriever.
Top right: Mom, homemaker, greying, and somewhat overweight. Drawn as a "compressed" Pembroke Welsh Corgi.
Bottom left: My knucklehead* brother, who wears short-sleeved t-shirts (without any coats) in freezing cold weather and either a.) doesn't smile or b.) grimaces when his picture is taken. Drawn as a Golden Retriever.
Bottom right: Me, wearing a comfortable dark blue sweat suit and looking into the camera as if saying "Am I in the right family?" Drawn as a bicolor Maine Coon cat (with perhaps a bit of Siamese in the mix, with the relatively long muzzle and all).
*Note: Hey, I think that what would be considered minor slights otherwise, such as the term "knucklehead", sometimes become semi- terms of endearment in the case of siblings and/or really good friends.
