So I don't do this sort of thing too often but I have been around this fandom for a while so I figure I got the cred to do it at least this one time.
This is Stormy, He is a rescue puppy we got just last weekend. That would be the 28th of March. He was a rescue puppy that
wanderlustdragon and I adopted.
He was found in a junkyard eating gravel and tires and was pretty worn down. But he was gentle and playful and sweet. We took him home and he was good for about half a week, eating good food, we feed him higher quality stuff without any filler. He was playing with our other pup Gypsy and they became fast friends.
Wednesday night he started to have quite a bit of stomach issues. Vomiting and loose stool ... all that sort of nasty business. Well... we gave him till today, Friday, and took him to the vet as his symptoms did not let up.
Turns out he has Parvo. This is a deadly virus and it will kill him without treatment. Bitch of it is, treatment is like... 200 dollars a day. Already just admitting him for the weekend is going to cost us 800 dollars. That sucks a dick. However I am not going to rescue a goddamn puppy and then let it die in the first week.
Obviously I am bearing the brunt of my financial obligations here but if any of you people out there on FA want to help out a sick pup then Wander and I would greatly appreciate it.
I am offering commission work on all levels but especially 20 dollar commission sketches and of course generous donations if you are feeling a generous mood.
If you want to donate
My paypal is Magazineck[at]gmail.com
if you want to set up some commission work from me, please note me. I will be arting all weekend and setting up a stream for the majority of it so I can raise some money for this poor guy. I'd like to see him get a chance to grow up as it seems his life has sucked ass so far and if you want to lend a hand that is awesome.
P.S. not to be an douche but if you don't give a shit or don't think I should be asking for donations for such a cause you can kiss my hard scaled ass and shove that opinion right on up your snout. I don't care to read bullshit comments, this is a free to choose sort of operation help or don't but don't be a jerk.

Not sure if this tidbit from the aspca helps:
---
Because parvovirus can live in an environment for months, you will want to take extra care if there has been an infected dog in your house or yard. Some things are easier to clean and disinfect than others—and even with excellent cleaning, parvovirus can be difficult to eradicate. Parvo is resistant to many typical disinfectants. A solution of one part bleach to 32 parts water can be used where organic material is not present. The infected dog’s toys, food dish and water bowl should be properly cleaned and then disinfected with this solution for 10 minutes. If not disinfected, these articles should be discarded. You can also use the solution on the soles of your shoes if you think you've walked through an infected area. Areas that are harder to clean (grassy areas, carpeting and wood, for example) may need to be sprayed with disinfectant, or even resurfaced.
----
You can use bleach in the washing machine but I think the idea is to let it soak for 10 minutes. 1 part bleach to 32 parts water shouldnt be enough to bleach, but beware that it can possibly stain.
I've had to deal with irritating fleas.. its constant washing, baths, and spraying hard to reach areas..

http://www.cleanfreak.com/Qstore/p000248.htm it's expensive.. but.. it might do the trick
I was going to recommend steam cleaning, but looks like high temperatures are not good at breaking down the virus (neither are low temperatures).
Check if 1:30 bleach stains the carpet, if you can (a hard-to-see area under something that the landlord won't move, or a scrap lying around somewhere).

....I'm so sorry that its parvo. I had an entire group of puppies die from it from my youthfulness rescuing a pup off of the streets.
Its a very nasty thing to watch if it is not treated. Specially when they start throwing out blood.
I'd help if I could but atm I cannot as I don't have the finances to help.
I wish you luck and if there is anything else I can do just say the word. I'm not far from you guys at all.

Well I appreciate the sentiment and kind words. Yeah... It can be nasty. We caught it pretty early and he is in the intensive care at the vets. I think he will make it if he gets the treatment! I look forward to posting pictures of him out and about being his adorable self. He's a snuggle butt and likes to curl up with you and be sweet.
Anyhow I have some faith in modern puppy care. but it is expensive for sure.
Hoping for the best for the little guy.

we had a pup that had parvo. she passed away because we didn't know till it was too late but from what i rememver and understand, life long treatment. Could be wrong though.
Our pup passed away but I remember she was views of parvis but the damage was already done.
So I know what you're going through. I unfortunately can't help, as I jaw no money. But you have my sympathies.

Can't afford anything right now, at least not until I get my next paycheck, however I did post a journal linking back to your page, hoping maybe I can at least help spread the word!

I really wish I could help... I've had 2 dogs die from parvo:( I am goin to tell everybody I know about this and hopefully they will be able to help you guys are amazing people who want to save your dog and you have my complete respect. Bless you both and I will keep the puppy and you in my prayers
Its not the equivalent of the flu. It actually causes a shedding of the intestinal lining, which can cause the dog to go into septic shock from the stuff in their intestines. As well as lovely vomiting and diarehhea. Ive spent way to much time looking up awful stories and symptoms. He needs an IV because he will not drink anything voluntarily. Salt dehydrates the body so Im not putting salt into his water, and Pepto bismol actually makes me vomit every time I take it... Poor thing, pink vomit, eww D:
THanks for the advice but I feel pretty well researched in this area since my baby's life is on the line

Yeah. That is what our pup was doing, throwing up and having bad diarrhea, BUT her vomit and diarrhea were both bloodied as well. That was when we took her to the vet and found out that she got parvo.
Hopefully you've got the treatment going earlier then we did, as from what the vet told us it was in the later or last stage of parvo.

Unfortunately my mate just got laid off and we are not making ends meet as it is so I can't help with money. But if you'd like advice, I have successfully gotten dogs through parvo with out vet treatment. I am NOT saying not to take him to the vet, but for the in between and if you don't end up with enough money, I can possibly help with advice. Also, bleach bleach bleach, anything in your house that you can bleach, and don't forget to also bleach the bottoms of your shoes so that you don't spread the virus around as well.
