Redeemed myself after last year. Last year I had no idea where they were going to launch the fireworks from in relation to the Thomas Jefferson Memorial. Every year for the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC., they have a fireworks show near the Tidal Basin. I had a rough idea where they launch the fireworks from, but not specifically in relation to the monument and I had to make a guess. Turned out I guessed wrong. As soon as the fireworks started, I had to pack up, run around the Tidal Basin to a better vantage point, and set back up in the blackness. Not surprisingly, I wasn't happy with the pictures I got in the end.
This year, I was determined to regain my honor! I set up for a better position well ahead of time. Was ready to go and suddenly...they changed the fireworks spot! >=O Thankfully, it worked in my favor this time and it resulted in an even better composition than what I had been originally planning! A much better showing this year!
